I tried my luck with apartment locators for the first time this year, and it worked so well that I ended up staying in the same apartment complex..... Citihomes was one of the locating services that courted me well. They sent a tidy list of links to apartments in my price range and location, and followed up frequently and cheerfully. They didn't find something that really worked for me, though, and they don't work with anything but large complexes, so nothing is really negotiable. I was relocating to Houston from out of town and needed assistance finding a place to move into sight unseen, a scenario that must be at least somewhat common. I gave my very specific requirements to Sandy Blankenship over the telephone. I also told her the type of place I didn't like. I even sent her a link to a Houston complex that I had visited and researched to allow her to have a visual of the type of place I wanted. She sent me a list of a few places. I chose one, loaded up the moving van and moved in. To my dismay, the place that Citihomes recommended was not at all what I described but it was absolutely the place that I told her I didn't want plus, to add insult to injury the chosen place was at the top of my stated price range. I had asked the locator if she's been on premises and she told me she had. There is absolutely no way that Sandy has been to the complex or she would have known that this place did not fit my requirements. She simply called the complex and asked leading questions. Q: Are you a place structured around social events? A: Sure we are. I have subsequently contacted Citihomes to see what they could do to remedy the situation but was told that they were longer part of the equation. I'm stuck with a one-year lease in the wrong place and the locator made her commission for making a phone call. I will never use this company again. read more

Ugh just met with the WORST apartment locator. I should have checked the reviews on Yelp because there are 3 here and 2 are not good at all. I have not written a review in years, but this warning deserves to be told... The lady I met was Susan Parker. The moment I stepped in that office, I kept wanting to leave. I didn't didn't want to be rude, so I stayed. I should have turned around when I was on my way there... During that time, I called to check on last minute directions, and she wasn't even in the office at that time! I talked to a guy who said she had left for the day. I should have known better by that point. I called her cell and she sounded confused and disoriented. When I finally got there, their sign was about 100 yards away from their office, meaning I parked and then walked about the distance of a football field. Finally, I get in and she starts searching for apartments on the web. I talked to her about the things I wanted, she interrupted me every other sentence. I don't think she consumed a single piece of information I gave her, and instead, responded with an argumentative tone to everything I said. I thought "why am I here in this dank office," and wanted to leave. Finally, she emailed me a list, and said to go look at the apartments. The last locator I used drove me around to different places, and the one before that did as well. I wanted to ask her about it, so I said: "when I had been looking for apartments in Dallas, and I used a locator there and he drove me around and..." she interrupted me mid-sentence, and hit the shut down button on her computer and said "I provided a great service!" And then she stood up and walked off and started turning off the lights. Up to that point, even through all of that, I was going to still give her name to wherever I rented so she would make her commission, even though I thought she provided no benefit to me. But that angry temper tantrum she threw at the end is a good way to cost her any further interaction with me. I should have left at the start! She sounded so incompetent when I first started talking to her... she wouldn't listen to anything I would say... I should have listened to my gut and just made an excuse that I couldn't show up to begin with. Save yourself!!! read more

I was really disappointed with Citihomes. They weren't as helpful as I thought that they should have been. I got a listing of apartments all over the city...most of which weren't in my price range! They didn't even offer me an incentive. Very disappointing. read more

I usually don't write reviews, but this is an exception. So I found an apartment pretty fast with the help of Becky @ find it, and she promised me $50 gift card for using her as a reference when renting an apartment. However; I still have not received my gift car 3 months after I moved in. And every time I email her to check on the status, she always blames the apartment complex and saying that they are taking a long time to process the reimbursement request or that FindIt is working or approving the request. It just seems like one thing after another, and I still don't have my gift card :\ read more

I called this number for assistance (713) 364-2484 and the lady that answered was very snotty, rude and unhelpful. I told her the price range I was trying to stay within and she scoffed and replied, "Go look for it". No thank you. ..I will gladly take my business elsewhere. Horrible and rude people. read more
