Citizen House is a very upscale private social club with the best food in OKC. Highly recommend!

But it is a bar with some really good bar food! The staff was training and as we had a group of five that needed separate tickets, we had to go to the bar to order. No biggie. Everyone inside from patrons to staff was friendly. We ventured outside and I loved the "beer garden" with corn hole, beer pong, Adirondak chairs along the fence and even a pool table. I thought the drinks were a little weak but honestly at this point in our evening I was OK with that. :) Back to the bar food, we sampled the pepperoni flatbread with hot honey, the BBQ chicken wings, fries, chips and queso, and fried pickles. I ODed on fried food but it was so good. My favorite was probably the wings.

We got to take a Polaroid picture to put on the wall. The outdoor area is very fun and definitely the hang out because it's pretty small inside. The jukebox is one that you pay through an app, so I bought some song credits for my favorite millennial tunes, but my songs kept getting bumped to the bottom by someone else. But his song picks were fun too. Food was tasty! All of your favorite bar junk food snacks! We tried almost the whole menu. My hot dog (glizzy lol) was yum! I adore curly fries. Drinks had such fun names, but they weren't super strong at all. Thursdays is happy hour all day, so $7 cocktails is still good. Service was great. All the ladies working were really nice. This fits the bill for a low key night out, and I bet it's gets pretty hype on late nights and weekends!

UNSAFE, AGGRESSIVE SECURITY & TOTAL LACK OF MANAGEMENT…read more This was an absolutely unacceptable and unsafe experience. The venue was disorganized from the moment we arrived. There was no line control, staff appeared disengaged, and it was obvious that underage patrons using fake IDs were being allowed inside, which alone should concern anyone considering coming here. A minor situation -- a friend briefly standing on a chair singing -- was handled in the worst way possible. Instead of a calm warning or conversation, security aggressively rushed our group, immediately escalating the situation. Multiple staff members began yelling, surrounding us, and using physical force to remove my friend and his girlfriend. We were already leaving voluntarily, yet security continued to push us and rush us out, turning a non-issue into a physical confrontation. I repeatedly attempted to de-escalate and placed myself between security and my friends to prevent further harm, but staff showed zero professionalism or restraint. The behavior from security felt hostile, intimidating, and targeted, and the overall environment was volatile and unsafe. This is not how a legitimate venue handles conflict -- this is how people get hurt. I strongly advise anyone reading this to stay far away. There are plenty of venues that know how to manage crowds without resorting to aggression and force.

The problems started literally seconds before the bride walked down the aisle when the venue manager stopped her to warn that the wedding would be shut down if any more alcohol was found. The alcohol in question was a sealed bottle discovered inside a backpack after venue staff/security conducted what many guests felt was an unnecessary and inappropriate search. Regardless of venue rules, confronting an emotional bride at that exact moment was unbelievably unprofessional and immediately created tension. After the ceremony, everyone complied with instructions and removed anything questionable. Despite that, venue staff and security continued searching vehicles and going through personal belongings in both suites without guests' knowledge or consent. The bride and groom were later pulled away from their reception because security claimed they overheard guests talking about alcohol in a trunk. The entire situation ultimately turned out to be about guests grabbing Black Cherry High Noons for the bar while someone changed shoes in their car. Guests were repeatedly harassed throughout the evening. One grandmother was followed to her car by security while buckling in her grandkids. Another guest was stopped from re-entering unless his vehicle was searched because of an energy drink. To make matters worse, staff began pushing cleanup over an hour before the contracted end time despite a cleaning fee already being paid, leaving family and guests cleaning tables and trash themselves. The entire night the venue staff felt hostile, discomforting, and wildly unprofessional. Rules are one thing, but repeatedly disrupting the reception, searching personal belongings, harassing guests, and creating this level of tension was completely unacceptable. I would never recommend this venue after what I witnessed.
