Their pricing was reasonable, and if your ticket isn't too complicated, they're a good option to consider. The only downside was the communication. I often had to reach out myself to get updates on my case rather than being kept informed throughout the process. Better communication would have made the experience much smoother. I was made to waste 2 FULL DAYS in court for a simple speeding ticket. I missed two days of work and lost the same in wages. On the first day of court my attorney did not show up. I, along with other clients of Citizen Law Firm were at the court house for hours. Many of us tried to contact the attorney but were unsuccessful. After several hours, we were finally rescheduled. When I went to court the second day, weeks later, the attorney was late. On top of that , he was extremely slow. I watched everyone else in the courtroom have their tickets dismissed and leave. As the morning came and went, the court offered to reschedule again, or leave for lunch and come back at 2:00 pm. I decided to wait for court to resume after lunch. After several hours, I was FINALLY, dismissed. Please, if you value your time, and can't afford to miss days of work, DO NOT hire anyone from Citizen Law Firm. I hired Citizen to represent me in a speeding ticket case, and a court date was set for the morning of 9/18. I was told that I did not need to appear in court, and I would be notified as to the outcome. When I was told this, I imagined that I would receive that information within a few business days; this struck me as reasonably prompt service. When I still hadn't received any information a week later, I called to inquire about the status of the case. The young lady I spoke to told me the attorney should have contacted me, as if that were all I needed to be told. I replied that I had hired the Citizen Law Firm, not any particular attorney, and that I had already waited too long for the relevant information. She attempted to answer my questions, but because she clearly knew very little about the law, it took several minutes of questioning for me to learn that the attorney had entered a plea which entailed deferred adjudication and a fine, and that the fine was due in mid-November. She also assured me that she would contact the attorney, inform him that I hadn't received my information, and that I would receive either a letter or an email containing all the details within a week. After waiting approximately two weeks, I called back. Again, I was told what the attorney should have done, and again, I was promised that the information would be forthcoming within a week. And just a few minutes ago, some three weeks later, after calling them yet again to inquire about information I should have received in late September, I found myself listening to a young lady telling me what the attorney should have done, when what I needed to hear is what Citizen Law Firm was going to do. Again, I was promised the necessary information in a week. I've spent almost six decades on this planet, and I have both bought and sold a lot of goods and services in that time. I've seen what good service looks like from both sides of the cash register, and I've seen what bad service looks like. The service Citizen has given me has been amongst the worst I've seen. Giving them one star is two or three too many. Update, 11/11/2020: I have made two more calls since I wrote the above review. During both, I was informed, yet again, that Citizen would contact the attorney who handled the case, and that I would receive the info in a week. Along the way, I made an interesting discovery. Prior to the call I made about a week ago, I googled their phone number and saw a Dallas phone number, which I called because I live in Dallas. During the call, I started asking various questions, and the young lady on the phone revealed that the number I had called was just an answering service. This struck me as odd. I then found the letter they had originally sent me soliciting my business. As you can see in the pic below, it was laid out with a Dallas address on the top left, a Dallas phone number on the top center, and a Houston address - no phone number - on the top left. I wouldn't imagine that is was an accident that the layout conveyed the impression that the Dallas office was the main office. Nonetheless, further Googling reveals that the Houston office is the main office. I suspect that the Dallas office isn't an office as most people understand the term: ie, a work area where people interact with one another and are trained and supervised and communicate effectively with one another and so forth. Instead, I suspect it is a small commercial space with room for four or five desks, presumably where a few lawyers work and hustle up overflow work from larger firms. I Googled the building, and most of the spaces therein appear to be like the one I'm imagining. I'll be driving through that neighborhood in the next few days. I'm going to pop in and snoop around. Be careful having Citizen Law Firm represent you with a traffic ticket violation case since their assigned attorney did not show up in my recent court case. I contacted Citizen Law Firm two days prior to my court case to confirm the attorney name that would represent my case and Citizen Law Firm confirmed their attorney world be present at the court hearing to represent my case. Since the Citizen Law attorney was not present during the court hearing, I basically represented myself and fortunately the judge dismissed my traffic violation case since the police officer was not present during the court hearing. After the court hearing, I had followed up with Citizen Law Firm to determine why their assigned attorney did not appear at the court hearing as promised and requested they refund me their legal fee. Citizen Law Firm noted they needed to review with their manager who never returned a call to me. For reference, I did note that there were many other attorneys representing their clients for their traffic violation cases and engaged directly with their clients to better understand and represent their case to the presiding judge. Citizen law firm Attorney was slow. Citizen law firm clients were the only one left in the courtroom at 11:00am until the Atty decided to show up. All the other law firm was successful in getting their clients cases dismiss. The Atty is rude and dismissive to be honest with the other clients. However she was able to get 1 ticket for speeding dismissed but I still had to pay Failure to appear I was bonded out for didn't understand that part. If you want a Lawyer to work for it's clients I highly recommend another Law firm. I personally would not use Citizens Law firm again. read more

In March of 2020, I received an utterly asinine and unjust citation from a local Constable for "Disregarding a Police Officer". The fine was outrageous, and I knew I was going to challenge it. About a week or so later, I started to receive letters from various law firms that had pulled public records from the courts and subsequently sent out advertisements about their services. One such letter was from Citizen Law Firm, which not only had the details for my citation, but noted they had a flat $50 per violation fee. Their letter also stated that I could hire them online (which was very nice since this was at the start of the Pandemic). After viewing their website, I called and ultimately hired Citizen Law Firm to deal with the citation. I paid $50.00 over the phone and they sent a receipt to my email. They told me that I didn't need to attend the upcoming hearing, and they would take care of it. A few months go by and then I received a letter informing me that my ticket was dismissed. I was pretty ecstatic. Hiring Citizen Law Firm saved me from paying hundreds of dollars for a nonsense ticket I didn't deserve, as well as all the time & headache of going to the court. I don't have to worry about "disregarding a police officer" on my record or having my insurance rates go up. So I saved a ton of time and money by retaining Citizen Law Firm. These people take your money, give you the run around and dont communicate about your case. You will spend countless hours on phone trying to get updates with rude staff and disconnects. A quick google search will reveal several victims and their stories. I tried reporting them to the StateBar but they have a revolving door of attorneys and it hard to get any info to submit full grievance. My attorney didnt show up at my first hearing. When I was finally able to get ahold of someone they scoffed at me telling me i shouldnt have gone and thats what i hired them for. I used them as my friend recommended. They were basically a $50 gamble for me. Otherwise I would have done defensive driving or deferred disposition. Sullo & Sullo was the first of the many traffic ticket law firms to report to court and take roll. They seemed to be the most professional of all the ones that came to the court (I am going to try not to get another ticket, but I will try them next time if it unfortunately happens). Citizen was the last of the law firms to get there. I felt a little nervous that they were not there. They finally got there about 30 minutes after the assigned court time (8am). They were not late, but they were not there @ 8am. I did not see my officer, but I assumed he might be somewhere else. When I was called up by my attorney. She said that: the cop showed up and he is a really difficult and a hard a#s. He is not going to let me off and have it lowered so I could do defensive driving for $X or probation for 90 days and $XX. She seemed kind of weak and a little disorganized. I was not impressed with her. I could have done this on my own, but it was a little easier using the attorney and I paid the fees at the court house. I was out an extra $50 (considered it a gamble) and had to take time off to go to courthouse. I was out by 9am, but could have been an all day event.. I've emailed, called, and texted "my attorney" multiple times, and I haven't received a reply once. I don't even know who my assigned attorney is. I'VE had to appear at every single court setting thus far - I've never even met this person. They've done nothing. So now I'm not only out the initial payment, but I'm out money I'm having to miss at work, I'm out gas money, I'm out money that I'm paying for parking, AND I'm handling this on my own. I'm disabled and forced to work full time just to afford to live, like most of us out here - so it really makes me sick to my stomach that there are "professionals" out here taking advantage of us. He was very combative during the conversation and defensive as to why he has not represented me on my case. In my case, I commented about my speeding ticket to a friend, who mentioned about this service, so I went ahead and paid Citizen Law Firm their suggested fees. A week later, received a phone call, mentioning that I will receive an email, postponing my court date to a month later. By the way, my ticket was $250.00. So, the date came to be at court. Of course, the lawyer showed up late, tactics used to put you on the spot, so you can't say a thing, because you are in the court room. I was called by "my lawyer", to approach her, just to tell me that the officer that gave the ticket didn't want to dismiss my ticket. Remember "No officer present at court" is considered an immediate dismissal because, in order to find you guilty by the judge, the accuser "the officer" must be present.... He was not. To make my story short, I was given a: $150.00 fine $25.00 Dollars defensive driven court order by the court (4 hours wasted) $25.00 Citizen Law Firm fee 4 hours wasted to be at court. $10 dollars parking lot. Pay your ticket online. Learn your lesson to slow down.. I was just 10 miles above the speed limit, but I guess the officer needed to reach his quota. This was a complete waste of tie and money. I was early for my court date along with three other people that used this law firm. I sat in this courtroom for 4 hours and not once did the attorney come in to talk to any of us. We sat in there seeing just about everyone get their case dismissed. Court clerk advised us to call the law firm to see where our lawyer was because we would have to come back after lunch if the lawyer did not get there before lunch. Lawyer finally showed up at 11:30 and basically told all 4 clients the same exact thing verbatim. You can pay a fine and defer or pay and take a defensive driving course. This was my first moving violation and this lawyer never asked any of us any questions. I decided to defer, only because I did not want to come back to court. I had a ticket for $1,000 for passing a school bus (I know, I sound like a terrible person) but he was still able to get it dismissed by talking to the cop (whom kept showing up to court). I've used Sullo & Sullo before but it was a waste of $$ since I coulda easily paid the court fee and signed up for DD on my own. I didn't know what to expect at first. This is not a place where you can speak to the attorney before approaching court. So this is how it works: You show up to court, several attorneys will come in, they will announce which law firm they represent, and they will call you up individually (as they are representing several clients) to speak about your case. No reminders. No communication. The attorney who meant to represent me did not care to know the reason she was hired. She walks in with the police officer. She had a very bad attitude. This has been the worst experience with a law firm. I had a speeding ticket and Icontacted Citizen Law Firm to help dismiss the case or reduce the penalty. On the day of court the attorney that was representing me: Shoshana Dinerstein did a terrible job. I was one of the first people to arrive to court and had to wait 4 hours. Several people arrived after me and met with their attorneys which explained to them the situation of their case. Unfortunately I had been assigned an attorney that was rude, complained about absolutely everything, and looked like did not care. Out of the 4 hours she talked to me for maybe 2 minutes, in which she did not explain to me what the situation was with my case or what the agreement would be. I asked her to slow down and explain better what is going on and she just continued to ramble on. This is unacceptable attitude and a professional attorney should not behave like that in court: like they don't want to be there and cannot wait to get rid of you and your case. She did not explain to me the outcome of the case and did a very bad job representing me In the future I would not contact Citizen Law Firm to represent me or any of my family members and I advise everyone not to contact them either. Especially after paying them, this is not the representation that anyone deserves. Went to my second court date with the expectation of having the options of defensive driving school or dismissal of the ticket. I now have to pay $150 and court cost. I was informed that the documents for total payment and dates would be sent to me and now almost two weeks later I call to get information and I am told to pay the $150 as soon as possible. Joke of a law firm. All the bad reviews below mimic the same story that happened to my mom. My mom (an immigrant with English as her 5th language) thought Citizen would take care of her by paying the $40 fee. They took almost 9 MONTHS to circle back only to screw my mom over. No one answers the phone, the staff is terrible at relaying information, and no one communicates ANYTHING so my mom got a "failure to appear" to a court date that was never relayed to her by Citizen. Did not handle my traffic ticket at all. Made it seem like if I was getting a "deal" however. Original ticket was at 173. They bumped it down to 116+25 for driver safety course and of course their 40$ fee. Which all adds up to original price. On their listing it says they will take care of tickets. However this whole process lasted 3 1/2 hours while I could've taken care of it myself for less time and the same fee. Choose someone else to represent you. read more

With traffic court I think it's a gamble. I've used Sulo and Sulo in the past, and basically they did what I could have done, which is pay the court fees and take defensive driving. I thought I would take the risk this time, and pay the $50 with Citizen, and hope for the best. My court started at 8, my attorney was there at 815, and dressed as an attorney should be. One of the other ones from Kubach I believe looked like she just stumbled in from the club, smokey eye and all. One of the other ones looked like she just got back from SXSW with a Nirvana shirt on under a blazer. The other guys looked like used car salesmen with cowboy boots. Seeing what each attorney was wearing was by far the most entertaining of my hour spent in court. Even with a last name that starts with T, I was outta there in an hour, with my ticket dismissed. I'm writing this review based on my recent first-time experience. My friend recommended me to Citizen Law Firm after I was given a ticket for a moving violation (made an improper U-turn). The clerk was nice and helpful. She gave me some confidence by telling me "most cases are dismissed but if we can't, we can greatly lower your fine". After payment, I was given a paper stating my court date and time to arrive. On my court date, I walked in and sat next to some other people who hired Citizen as their attorney also. By time 8am came around, the attorney was no where to be found and we looked like idiots whenever the judge told us "where is your lawyer"? Meanwhile, everyone else's attorney (sulo and sulo, mostly) showed up right on time. 8:45am came around and still no one was present. At one point, one person stood up and was clearly frustrated that our attorney was not present. At about 9am, the judge called my case up and dismissed the ticket because the officer wasn't present. I am a little disappointed because I could've went there myself without an attorney and saved my $50. I do not know how well they perform in court but I am giving them 2 stars. The only positive remark I have to say is the clerk was really helpful and informative when I made the payment. read more
