Why would you not call a day in advance or what was the point of that since I was already about to be there? Lastly, the associate continuously spoke down to me referring to me as "honey". I work in banking myself and I would never speak to a client or handle any sort of transaction in this manner. Safe to say my money will never see Bank of America again. If the Recipient has a change in address or account number, you can only delete it and enter a new recipient. Of course, you have to call the recipient to get their address. This has been a huge problem for two months, and nothing has been done about it. If you go to one of the branches or call customer service, they say they are working on it. This is not a big bug and should have been fixed in a couple of weeks; two months is unacceptable. You also cannot speak with anyone that will tell you when this will be fix.

I was trying to do that today (July 7th). I was asked to begin by entering my Cambridge Trust Company user name and password. Both of these were rejected twice as "incorrect". I then looked for their Help link. The help link asked for my full name, date of birth, address, email, my account number and last 4 digits of my social security number. I entered everything correctly. STILL THEY COULD NOT FIND ME. I tried their customer service phone. They are open only on Monday through Friday during certain hours. (May be Saturdays also during limited hours). Eastern Bank customers beware! You are in bad hands. As for me, I am going to switch to another bank after all these years with Cambridge Trust Company.

And to quote a famous Radio personality, try to get anything done on their no service number. I bought a car and the dealer financed it thru Community. Rates were compatible and I have a savings account with them. Figured I would pay it off after a couple of months. Everything went fine until I tried to pay it off. I stopped in and they told me that the loan is in my wife's name. They did give me the payoff though. Seemed high so I asked them to verify payments received. Nope. It's her account. She needed to call in and give me permission to talk to them. OK. She did that about a month ago. Yesterday we tried to walk in and take care of everything. Got there at 2:05. Door was locked. Seemed they decided to close 4 hours early for black Friday. Nothing posted on line or on the door. Guess this is a new bank holiday. No problem. I called in today. After long hold times, I go thru the whole verification process to be told that they can't find the note from my wife. They can't call my wife. She calls in and since she is at work can't deal with the long hold times. They have a call back option. She leaves her number, they call back, and what ever happened at that point resulted in a really irritated text from my wife that said they S___. And now they are closed until Monday. If you are retired and can walk in, go for it. They are nice people and you are not just a number. DO NOT EXPECT service over the phone or the internet.

I went down to the bank on 6/7/26 and reported this inaccurate finding. No one in the bank could tell me why they had debited the money, but filed a report and said that someone would get back to me first thing Monday morning. So, once again, I had to take time out of my schedule to go into the office.(3 days later) I met with a manger, who also could not figure it out and then she met with another manager who also didn't know what was going on. Then some mystery person from one of the branches said that the $10. 00 was for a late payment in 2024. Totally not true, as I have NEVER had a late payment in my life relative to my mortgage. They were still going to investigate, holding on to that $10.00, that the bank had illegally debited from my account. Then, word came they were going to give me back the one time courtesy of a reversal and put the $10.00 back into my account. I have demanded an explanation of the 2024 false claim with documentation. It is not the $10. 00 that is important, but the fact that these big banks and corporations can debit your account and get away with it. Just think how much money they are making doing this to their customers. I have had several issues with Eastern Bank relative to poor customer service. No one gets back to you when you submit a complaint......they only send their survey with no personal contact. Everyone check your statements, as it looks like AI is going through accounts and debited money illegally.

As such, I switched to Luso-American since their two locations are convenient for me. Staff there are very personable, friendly and helpful.
