Pumpkin spice. Not yet the end of summer but here it is, but wait, this is a spa treatment and not something you ingest, so why not? The staff at citris have it going on. Skilled and thorough. They spend the time you always thought you would get and do all the things with integrity. They managed to rub the bottom of my feet without me having spasms brought on by being tickled. They don't use the cheese grater like implement that most pedicurists use but rather some sort of emery board implement that whisked away the dead skin without the normal torture. I haven't had my nails done in a couple of years, but while I was out of town for a wedding I had a shellac mani and pedi. Once it needed redoing I used two places by my house which were awful. You could see through the color, they used a drill to get the color off, and butchered my cuticles. Then I found Citrus Nails from a FB group. They did an amazing job! The job was done really well, and it lasted quite some time. It was exactly what I showed them and expected in length, thickness, and color matching. Citris Nails has been my go to place since I moved to this area. I have not had a bad experience with any of the techs. My nails are always great and last forever without pulling my hair etc. The place was remodeled shortly before I started going there but it's very nice, clean and tastefully decorated. They are very accommodating when you call ahead and make a reservation. Every person I have taken with me has had a great experience. Worst manicure/ full set I've ever had. They told me their full sets with color tip start out at $65 and $5 to take off the old. I thought it was a little high but figured if they are what I want I would pay that price. The first picture is what I asked for and the second picture is what I got. I went to check out and showed the guy at the front my nails. They wanted to charge me $70 for this!? I told him I was not happy and he said I can take $10 off. That still made the nails $60 which is a premium in my eyes. He ended up only charging me $50 but personally I feel like I should have paid half that for what I got. I do not recommend this place AT ALL. It did not feel clean, they do not use plastic covers in their foot soaking bowls and the guy who was doing my nails was smacking on gum the entire time. This is a tough review for me because the Salon itself is very nice and plush. Clean and very modern. All of which I like. However, I am a stickler for GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE. I did not receive that in this salon that day. I visited Citris last Friday. Took a break from work and was really looking forward to a nice and relaxing pedi. I didn't get lucky enough to have a sweet and nice nail tech like I'm used to in most nail salons. This young lady named Wu I think was really having a bad day. Although she did a fair job on my pedi, she was very curt and robotic. I politely mentioned to her that the foot block was not comfortable for my knee and that I did not want to have my foot on that block. She looked like she didn't understand me and gave this horrible look. I asked if she understood that the block was very uncomfortable for me. She said yes and that was all I heard. The rest of the pedi was uncomfortable after that. It is what is. Not sure if I will ever go back to this nail salon but if I do, I will not be requesting this young lady. Sorry Citris. I have a very important trip planned in two days. My last experience with citrus nails was amazing. Everything was perfect. I came in today to get my vacation nails and I knew exactly what I wanted. My pedicure was not as great as last time but was fine enough. Well, I'm getting my toes done and a nice lady comes over to start on my nails and all is well at first. I showed her the picture of what I wanted but she seems slightly confused by what I wanted because of the questions she was asking, but insisted she could do it. I always trust the process but will speak up if it's not what I asked for. (because let's be honest who is paying $150 to get some thing they don't like.) she starts doing them and they are extremely pointy even though I asked for round/almond. she also made like five of them crooked which I pointed out and she saw no problem with. When I pointed it out, she started getting aggressive with my hands and when she initially came up to me, I had mentioned that one of my fingers is swollen so if she could please keep that in mind that would be wonderful because it hurts. I told her I didn't like the shape and she just kept making it worse so I told her to take them off because I was not going to pay for that. After having her, I was planning on leaving with bear nails because of how awful it was, but they brought me Myra who was a literal angel. She did my nails, just how I wanted them and was very polite the entire time. I would come back again, just to see her because of how amazing she was. read more

Today I had the best pedicure of my life. I was a walk-in client today and was seated around 10 minutes. The atmosphere gives luxury nail salon, with state of the art chairs and cleanliness. The pedicure incorporates all 5 senses. The music was relaxing, the refreshments were great, aromatherapy, and so much more. The highlight of my trip was getting to relax for an hour and enjoy a massage/heated neck pillow. I will never visit another salon after the experience I had today. I was visiting the area and had to get my nails done so I stopped at a place with the word SPA and it had a lot of cars in front so I figured the locals knew this was a good nail salon! The tech on my feet hurt me many times even though I was specific about my injury. I had a shellac pedicure which was $60 and the leg and foot massage lasted about 6-7 minutes. They charge extra if you have to remove the shellac on your toes. Last two time I've been here we're both a bad experience. 1. The guy doing my dip first forgot what color I picked. When I informed him he kept trying to change it on me. Which was annoying but not a big deal. The bigger issue here was he cut down my nails, before filing them he reached over my hand to grab something an scratched his arm on my nail. I DID NOT MOVE. He not only spent the rest of the time complaining to me about the scratch that HE CAUSED, but continued to tell his coworkers. I know because just like he kept showing me the scratch throughout my time he kept showing his coworkers. An incident he caused himself. 2. I walked in. Was sat and started my pedicure. Two ladies next to me were sat and their pedicure was started. Then their dip, while I waited for mine to start. I finally said something and the receptionist told me another 2-3 mins. I waited. 45 minutes! I finally was started. The two ladies who started after me were long gone. The receptionist told me they had appointments. That's still unacceptable. They were 15 mins after me and had I known I would wait 45 minutes I would have walked out. Also they did change my color on me! I asked for 219 they gave me 111. Close so not worth saying anything but just to add to my fury. read more

Our total was $115! The girl doing my fill was awful. Learn some customer service skills. And how about this, if you don't have time to do someone's nails DON'T TAKE THE APPOINTMENT! They not only rushed me but the guy who took over for the slow girl was so abrasive. His demeanor was rude and he was rushing through the process. We are obviously never going back. With everything going on I needed a bit of self care, and since I haven't had my nails done since February, this seemed the best option. I used my ever-trusty Yelp app to find a highly rated salon near me and Citrus Nails was first on the list. Interestingly enough, the salon I used to frequent pre-COVID wasn't even top three. So, me and my baby girl walked in on a Sunday morning and requested manicures. We were seated immediately and received a fantastic service! I got a dip manicure and my daughter a shellac manicure. Everyone wore masks our entire visit, which was reassuring. One woman pulled hers down while getting a pedicure , but put it back up without complaint after being asked. I think my nail tech name was lynh and she was amazing! She was friendly, funny, and a perfectionist. She made sure I liked it every step and did not proceed unless I did like it. My friend and I went in this last Sunday wanting to treat ourselves. Unfortunately, from the jump the staff was not it. We were grabbing coffee from the beverage area and the staff kept hollering at us to come and sit down when we told them to give us a moment as we were clearly getting drinks. Then, my friend asked for a design on her toes and the worker taking care of her IMMEDIATELY denied being able to do the design which I think was pretty simple. It was black French tips with a red kiss mark. I could understand the kiss mark being difficult but French tip is pretty simple. My friend suggested to get acrylic tips on in order to get the design done right and the woman kept going on about how her nails are too short and didn't even acknowledge that she suggested getting tips or fake nails put on to do the design properly. She said no and it was best to just get a solid color. The woman working on my nails was so mute and I think said one word to me, I get that maybe her English wasn't good but even her body language and facial expressions were so blank and she seemed annoyed. She was rough when cleaning underneath my toenails which has now made my toe sore. When she was scrubbing my feet, she acted like she didn't even want to touch them and was barely hold my foot with the tips of her finger which made my foot keep sliding off the towel. My friend mentioned that when her feet were being rubbed there was barely any pressure. Like what did we pay almost $100 dollars for? I've been to another citrus location and I loved it. I've been getting my nails done here for a while and love my nails every time. Almost everyone is very nice and accommodating. However, recently, I've been noticing that my nails are costing more and more each time even though the prices have stayed the same and I get the same exact thing done each time. The last 3 times now I've asked for a price break down when paying and they have tried over charging me every time. Today was $20 over what my nails were supposed to be... I get dip on MY natural nails so all I asked for was a color change which the lady did wonderfully and was super sweet, but at the register I was told $100 for both my feet (regular pedicure $35) and nails (dip supposed to be $40 but was asking $65). They charge $5 to take off old dip, then she said $5 for the shape (of my own nails), and $5 for cuticle cut down. There is no "shape" all I asked for and received was for them to be filed down. She did not cut anything including my cuticles which I told and showed the lady at the register. She then apologized and gave me the correct price for my nails which was $45. I do appreciate her fixing the price, but it's the fact that I have to ask for a price breakdown every time now because they are overcharging. I shouldn't feel like I can't trust my nail techs. I'm not sure if it's a miscommunication between nail techs or if it's on purpose, but make sure you ask for a price breakdown. Otherwise, this nail place is great and very accommodating. Unfortunately, I will most likely not be returning as a long time customer. read more

When I tell you that my pedicure stayed for three whole months, while looking exactly how they did when I got them done the first day, I have nothing but great things to say about this nail salon. Im really liking this nail salon! They are a bit pricey but I think they do an amazing, so I can totally justify paying more for quality work. When you walk in you are immediately greeted and asked what service you would like. I went in and asked for shellac, they sat me down right away and handed me the many many shellac colors to pick from and they offered me something to drink. They had several drinks to pick from, soda, wine, mimosas, water, plain orange juice. They brought me my water and waited patiently while I decided on a color. I was having trouble picking from two different colors so they offered to bring both so I could see what it looked like on my nail. I love that! Some places will not do that because they say its wasteful and it takes more time. Once I picked the color I liked best, Nancy started working on my nails. I didn't realize it until then but cuticles really need to be scraped down and cut. No other place that I have been too has done this. In fact, the last time I got shellac (which was right down the road from Citrus), they ended up painting my cuticles as well and it peeled right away. Nancy took the time and really got my cuticles looking great. She even recommended vitamins for my nails since they peel a but sometimes. Nancy carefully and precisely applied coat after coat of the gel shellac and my nails look amazing! Best shellac I have ever gotten. I will be coming back the next time I need my nails done. She even let me take home the buffer and file that she used on my nails. I love the lotion and massage after my nails were dried too. Great great work by Nancy. read more

Just OK.... Yelp reviews and being open on Sunday landed me here. My normal nail salon is closed on Sun so I decided to give them a try. 1st off as some of the previous reviewers stated the staff was not friendly at all. From the young lady at the front desk, the lady that done my pedicure & Kevin that done my nails. Not one of them had a smile on their face or friendly. The whole time they both maybe said 3 words to me. Seem to me they were in a crappy mood. Kevin did do a great job on my nails but, my pedicure was not so great I have had better. I did not like that my nails were being done as I was getting my pedicure. I could not sit and relax for having my arm crossed and pulled side ways. The salon is new and very nice everything is much more upscale than normal salons in the area and very clean. The prices are a bit more as well. So I'm going middle of the road on this review because I've gone here many times before starting when they first opened and until I moved to Austin a year ago. I was so glad to move back to Houston and have my favorite nail place back. I have been here twice since moving back and what was once an amazing experience is now rushed and careless. She used the callous remover on the tops of my feet and in between my toes which are now sore and raw, she used the file aggressively on the top of my nails which I don't appreciate as someone that uses regular polish and sometimes prefers no polish, she didn't listen to me when I told her I didn't want my nails cut (because I have a funky toe nail on each foot where the white is crooked so I cut them straight to match the other toes vs along the white) when she proceeded to file it aggressively down along the white I asked her to leave it alone so she just came back to it and did it anyway... now of course it looks crooked painted which is what I wanted to avoid. I asked them to allow my 5 year old daughter to sit next to me (I was willing to wait) and they proceeded to sit someone else down where they said my daughter would sit so 2 young women could sit next to each other. Then when I said something about it they made the lady on the other side move who already had her feet in the water! The whole thing was a mess and I really hope they slow down and take more care in their service because it's better to turn people away when you are too busy so you can do it right than to loose lifetime loyalty for a rushed careless job. Went yesterday for the first time for a polish change just to try the salon out. Told the front desk staff and the tech it was my first time there and I wanted to try it out. The technician wasn't friendly and did very sloppy work. I pointed out during the polish change she missed large areas of my nail bed and they needed polish closer to the edges. She said she'd get it on the second coat. She didn't. So I had her fix a few of them at the end. Instead of taking off the polish and fixing them she just added polish to it which left lines on the ones she fixed. Very lazy and sloppy work when I was literally only asking for a polish change - I would expect the polish to look great, even and to cover the nail evenly. Not at all the way to gain a customer trying out your salon for the first time. I told the front desk staff upon checking out - no discount or apology offered. She just simply recommended a different tech next time. Wow. read more
