I come here regularly, or at least used to. I usually would pay 50-55 maybe even 60 as a high price. Today I walked out paying 70. Before my appointment began, I specifically asked if there would be up charges. She told me there would not be. Upon paying she told me several up charges. My nails were completely bad quality and awful. I was told "shellac will be less messy and won't be an up charge." Then proceeded to pay 20 dollars more than usual... which doesn't make any sense. I wouldn't recommend going unless you get proof of price upfront. Other than that, the workers were okay I guess kind of sassy when asked to fix my nails. read more

After trying a few nail places in the area, this is my go to. The pedicure is great. Very thorough massage! Nice fresh fruit rubbed on your legs. Hot stones also available. The staff is friendly and the music is fun. Chairs are comfortable. Drinks are available-without limit. Location is ideal, I can multi task and shop and also get my nails done in the same trip. I think they have a shortage on oils and lotions for the massage part of manicure! I had to ask Amy to PLEASE put more lotion on because she was tearing up my dry skin!! You would think since it is cold right now and everybody has dry skin they would actually put more than just a little dab before doing what they call, "the massage"! Which, was horrific! They barely did the forearms, did not do the rest palm or fingers. When it came to my pedicure, obviously the girl did not understand English. Although the service at this location is usually good, I would like to share an experience that was unfortunately discriminatory in nature. I am a loyal customer, and after leaving a $20 tip for my wonderful service, I went to the counter to pay and to check out. I watched two customers in front of me check out & witnessed that were each given a warm "thank you for your business" & were each offered a very nice Christmas gift bag. There were several gift bags lined up at the counter for customers to receive at check out. I was third in line & after I paid, I stood there waiting for the same greeting & the holiday gift bag. No one offered the bag or a thank you to me. They actually ignored me and did not offer a thank you or happy holiday as I witnessed with the two "white" customers ahead of me. I am African American & support NOA all over the Houston area, especially this one. So, I boldly asked them if I would/could receive a gift bag as well. They stood there and just looked at me. I was blown away that they were so resistant and cold. I asked again to the manager standing there for a gift bag and she reluctantly handed one over to me. Wow! This was unbelievable so I thought if I owned this business, I would want to know how my employees represent me. I attempted to contact the manager twice but received no call back to avoid writing a negative review. So here I am, helping and advocating for the next customer who may experience this blatant disrespectful, ungrateful, discriminatory behavior to loyal customers. I won't be visiting this location again. It is unfortunate that these businesses think this is ok to do this to customers, especially ones like me that love to give big tips for great service! read more

I'm actually here right now for the second time getting my toe nails clipped, washed, and painted. I've had really good service both times. They give some good massages with their pedicures. Oh and if you're bougie or just want some privacy for a special event, they have a private area in the back, where all the other bougies hang, totally kidding. But it is cool that they have that for special occasions... not sure if it's extra, but I'm sure there's some cost. They serve drinks including cocktails for free with service. For instance I'm sipping on a nice tall glass of champagne. It's only 4pm, but I've had a hard day ok. My only wish is that they had more colors like neutral shades to choose from (for shellac colors). I don't really do all those colorful ones and bright ones, so I don't have a lot to choose from. I'm really picky about my nails, I've been to several places around the area and always leave disappointed with how rushed it all felt and how damaged my nails would be from an electric drill being used on them. When I walked in I was greeted kindly by the manager. I wasn't shouted at across the salon like usual. I signed in and the Linda promptly sat me down and offered me a drink. I didn't feel rushed to pick out a color. I explained that my nails had been damaged by the last several places I had gone. She took extra care to gently push my cuticles back and was meticulous at trimming them. For the first time in my life, my cuticles were trimmed thoroughly and she didn't make me bleed or cause any pain because she took her time. She used CLEAN tools that she opened from the autoclave package. She gently buffed my nails and very carefully painted them with the gel color I picked out. I just can't say enough about how nice it was not to be rushed and for someone to really take their time and do a good job. I will absolutely be back to Linda for all my nail needs! read more

I would give them 4 stars with the exception of the girl who gave me my pedicure, took a chunk out of the side of my foot, near my left ankle with the cheese grater. I needed an extra mimosa for that! Wow! Then upon leaving, because it was painful I asked her if I could put some Neosporin on it. She put alcohol and a bandaid as the manager came over and looked and left. Now it's on fire! 89$ later she looked at me and said what tip would you like to leave! Seriously??! How about a 10% discount for the skin you took off. However my nails and toes look nice. That's just so frustrating! They get an F in customer service. I'm now in pain the rest of my beautiful Good Friday off and with tip 99$ in the hole. I lived a long time in NY and in LA and I think they are way overpriced here. I have been going here on and off for about a year now. Don't know why i kept going after my last few experiences not being the best. This place is definitely overpriced. I went in for a gel manicure and it chipped and peeled off not even a few days later. pretty sure i have paronychia now too (gross). i was pretty upset because my mom paid to get my nails done. pretty sure the way they remove acrylic nails is illegal in virginia too. they don't file the nail down or soak them off. just rip them off. they're why i don't do acrylic sets anymore my nails were ruined for months. read more

Waited over 30 minutes after my scheduled appointment time before I was sat in a chair, not a huge deal. The tech couldn't get the dip powder I chose open so she tried to get close with a different mix of powders, not what I wanted but still not a huge deal. My problem was they were so busy that she was obviously rushing and sanded down part of my cuticle till I was bleeding on a couple of my nails. If they didn't have time then they should of said they couldn't fit me in today. An hour later and my one finger is still bleeding and hurts. They also didn't take time to clean up the excess powder hardened under my nails so I am just hoping it comes off. read more

I've been here about 3 times and the environment is always clean, neat and welcoming. The salon is overall great tho i've never had a pedi there so i can't speak for that. 2 out of 3 i've had Lanni as my nail tech. She's really good with doing exactly what you show her on your phone. I had the first 2 times and she's really nice. Personally i'm somewhat of a control freak so when a tech designs a nail that's not close to the picture, i get a little anxious. The first picture is of her work. The most recent visit was ok. I was hoping to get Lanni again but she was busy at the time i arrived which is understandable. I got Eric invest and he was good at shaping and the basics of dip powder. However, he had to go help another customer and the lady at the reception desk did the flower design. What i didn't like about the reception lady is that she tried to convince me to do the flower design in shellac instead of power because my nails are small. As I said, i'm a control freak so i didn't like that very much. The color of the shellac compared to the dip looked very different so i was not about to have a mismatched nail. We ended up compromising on one flower plus a petal instead of 3 small flowers on the reference pic. I'm thinking about getting butterfly decal/stickers/gliter nails for next time but i'm not sure if they have those specific ones, so i'll just have to go back and see. read more

I was told $10 off three pedicure packages ... i chose the $43 package upon checking out I was given a ticket of $49.. told him I was told about the $10 off.. he changed it checking out on my nails ... I chose the tips in glitter color instead of my whole nail in glitter (I came in to do the whole nail in glitter).. she told me it would be $45 to do whole nail... so I chose tip instead at $40... now my bill is over $80.. This being said I was sold out of something I originally wanted and charged for the design I picked due to the increase of price ... Then when I go to pay.. NO TIP LINE !!! EITHER YOU HAVE A CRAPPY CREDIT CARD PROCESSOR OR YOU ARE ILLEGALLY PAYING TIPS OUT OF YOUR CASH FLOW.... CAUSING a possible hike in taxes for you the business owner... Terrible service from the start. Only went in for a regular manicure went with a friend she went in to get a predicure and refill so I asked to sit next to her and they said it would be fine so I waited and before starting my service I got asked to move to the manicure area because I was not getting a pedicure so I did. Finally after starting on my service she did good getting my cuticle but everyone usually goes for the massage or at least I do which mine lasted a total of 3-4 minutes for both arms if that. And not to mention I was never asked if I needed a drink so I asked if I could get a water and who I spoke to behind the bar had to get someone to translate what I had said. So while I'm waiting now waiting for the polish to dry I spot a roach on the trash can. This is my last time at this nail salon. Plain gross and bad service. read more

I have to say that I really enjoyed my experience at Nails of America. First of all, the name of this salon is slightly grandiose and I am definitely here for it! In my state of loyalty, TLC nails reigns supreme but Nails of America offers a different experience complete with some pampering. This salon is located across from Baybrook Mall in the strip mall that once included Whole Foods ( which I still can't believe is no longer there). The inside of this salon is huge and boasts several pedicure chairs and several manicure chairs. The first thing you notice as soon as you walk in is aromatherapy. It almost smells like a Teavana .........but better. I'm not really one for aromatherapy especially if lavender is involved as it sends me into quite a tailspin resulting in a splitting headache. It smells like tea in here and the aroma is quite relaxing. I received a shellac manicure and a shellac pedicure on my visit. I would like to note that while you are receiving your services they put a warm aromatherapy bag around your neck that feels like heaven! it is so relaxing! they also offer deluxe services to include coconut oil, unprocessed, to soften your skin. I appreciate those touches. I would have liked to have been offered a beverage as those who came before and after me were offered one. Services are pretty pricey here but good to pamper yourself. My fingernails weren't exaclty what I wanted, and the technician wasn't quite understanding the shape I wanted and they were a bit thick; I prefer a more natural looking nail. Nails of America earned another star on my latest visit. I was utterly pleased with my service the second time around. I came straight from work on a Friday evening and decided to be a walk-in. This time around I felt very welcomed and was taken right away. My services were the orange pedicure by Fimi and a shellac manicure by Tammy. I received both services simultaneously which was a bonus because I had other errands to run. Fimi was very sweet and polite and tended to my needs very well. Tammy was the life of the party and kept me laughing the entire time. I recommend these two techs for your pampering needs.
