Why.... The food was amazing!!! AMAZING... We had the Shrimp and meatballs along with a Charcuterie Board and people are still talking about the appetizers!!!! When moving into dinner we had the Bistro Steak and the Stuffed chicken. Both of these items had flavor and were served HOT, and they were very tender. We closed with a desert sampler which was great and provided several different choices.. Kent and his team were easy to work with and they did an amazing job... Citron catered a conference I attended last week at ASU. They provided breakfast and lunch for 3 days and it was a highlight of the whole event! The two men who ran the event were also so gracious and funny. They even learned the names of some of the ~200 conference attendees and it was a pleasure interacting with them so I wanted to write this review to acknowledge their effforts. I'm a vegetarian and was super happy that they had veggie options that were way beyond a vegetable platter. They made roasted tofu, multiple kinds of beans. The only complaint that seemed to be shared by all was that we couldn't fit more food on our plates and in our bellies haha. read more

I love Citron Catering! I work in downtown Phoenix and we use Citron religiously for all of our big events, especially when we need to step it up a level. They always arrive early and are ready to start before my events begin and I cannot tell you how much stress that takes off of me! I recently hired them for a small event at my home because I know how good their service and attention to detail is. They did not disappoint! My wife wanted a chicken and waffle brunch which isn't on Citron's standard menu, but they made it for us anyways! Great for everyone!! I heard of this place from my mom who had it at an event, and she's a huge meat-lover but she actually was shocked by how much she fell in love with their vegetarian offerings! We ordered their broccoli pasta which was DELICIOUS and was a generous helping that our huge family still couldn't finish and that I was still eating a week later. We also got a couple of their salads and vegetable trays. The roasted zucchini was fabulous. We even tried their steak and chicken platters, and no surprise-everything was delicious. All the food was cold, the grilled veggies, beef and turkey and found a hair in my salad. I would think the meat and grilled veggies would be warm? The taco salad was not bad but I was turned off by the presentation. The fruit trays looked nice. I should have stuck to eating fruit only. :( The taste to the pasta salad was horrible. My company uses Citron catering quite a bit to bring in food for large meetings and trainings. Every time I have found the food to be mediocre. Today I took a bite of the Mac and Cheese and while I didn't want to spit it out, it was not good enough to be worth eating. Mac and Cheese is a particularly fattening dish, and I am not going to indulge unless it tastes good enough to be worth it That is the way I feel about all the food I have had from them (Burgers, Bacon, Breakfast Potatoes), it's good enough to eat, but I don't really want to. We were so pleased with Citron! We hired them for our wedding in northern Arizona for about 150+ people. Kent, the owner, was very helpful as we planned for our big day. They were very accommodating and Kent was easy to get a hold of when needed. We did a "build your own burger bar", and added avocados and bacon. DELICIOUS BURGERS. We were very pleased with the quality of food. Mac and cheese was also so good. Only complaint is that the food was a little cold, even though dinner was served on time. But even still, it was fantastic. We had friends tell us that it was the best wedding food they ever had! The staff cleared our guests plates and washed them for us. I was catering a party at my office today and went with Citron! The food was absolutely delicious, fresh, and beautifully presented. Lynn was very helpful with the order and very impressed with how the food was delivered. The gentleman who delivered it set it up perfectly how we wanted it. Recently used Citron Catering to cater my husband's 40th birthday. They were very easy to work with, accommodated my changes to the menu (replaced dessert with extra sides etc), and served excellent food. They traditionally don't seem to do full service but they were able to include it for an extra fee. At the end of the night they created several assorted platters, making it easy to send guests home with leftovers (there was a bunch of food left over - yay!). I didn't have much time to sample food, but the guests raved about the brisket, salad, and Mac & Cheese in particular. I believe the cost was about $13/plate (plus a flat fee for service and any add ons such as linens). Overall, I was really pleased and happy that I was able to enjoy the party stress-free. read more

We used Citron Catering for our event this past weekend May 2 2015. i have always been a bit skeptical of caterers because I am a food-guy and my experience has been catering in general leaves a lot to be desired in terms of quality, taste and consistency. i always likened catered meals to Vegas buffets in that... sure they are decent tasting and you do get full, but the meal wouldn't create any kind of lasting memory. Citron Catering changed that perception for us... #1 Their price was more reasonable than other caterers. Price was never the deciding factor for us, but I just felt like the price for Citron was clear and concise and very reasonable. #2 Their menu was flexible and we chose the BBQ picnic as our theme with pulled pork and brisket along with cole slaw, mac and cheese, and twice baked red potatoes. With some cookies and bars for dessert. #3 The quality of their food was excellent. Not just good, but great. Now we're not talking about pulling off a culinary miracle in making good brisket or pork, but the pulled pork with green chiles was unique and so tasty. The brisket with mushroom gravy was also excellent and well received. And here is the clincher for us... the side dishes (mac and cheese, cole slaw, and twice baked red potatoes) were fantastic. The sides always seem to be an after-thought especially when cooking for bigger groups ; underseasoned, boring, bland-tasting seemed to be the norm. The Mac and Cheese was excellent with a real homemade flair. The Cole Slaw was perfectly seasoned and the addition of red pepper made it shine. The twice cooked red potatoes were the real star of the show with more people commenting on them than anything else. There was not ONE item of food that Citron made that wasn't well above our expectations. #4 One of my biggest catering concerns has always been running out of food. i don't really understand how portioning works w regard to cooking for big numbers, but i do know running out of food is embarrassing and uncool. I had told Citron they would be cooking for mostly men who were coming from a day of watching the Kentucky Derby to a night of watching the boxing match. Our agreement was to serve food for 25. Our group ended up burgeoning to almost 40 people and guess what? We had enough food to feed all of them with more than a handful of people eating twice. AND we had enough leftovers to feed another 10 people comfortably the next day. Incredible value and such a great peace of mind for me that the food went so far. All you can ask for when entering into a blind agreement with a caterer is that they arrive on-time, do what they say they will do and do it in a manner that transfers confidence and pride from the host to his guests and help to remove a majority of the distress commonly associated with gatherings. Citron handled my group with such ease they made me look like I actually throw parties for a living. I could not be more pleased with them and could not give them a higher recommendation. There was a catered lunch from Citron today at the office and it was good! Good enough for me to go back to my office and look up the company online. Found their online menu - we must have had the California Fresco Bar: Caprese Bowtie Pasta Salad, Carmelized Pecan Salad, Chilled and Grilled seasonal Vegetables... all yummy but the distinctive items were the sliced grilled meats - those were impressive: platters of thinly sliced, very high quality chicken breast and flat iron steak. We used Citron Catering for our Bar Mitzvah reception in our home on Nov 14, 2015, and were extremely pleased. Kent, the owner came to our home twice before the event to plan the layout and coordinate things with the party rental company. He was a great contact for other vendors, and so we did not need a party planner. He made sure everything was on schedule leading up to the event. When the day of the event came, he and his team transformed our home into a wonderful party venue and had everything ready early for our guests. He has carefully chosen his staff, and it shows. The bartender was fabulous, and the staff was like an invisible hand that made everything flow. The food was delicious, and enjoyed by children and adults alike. The staff stayed until the last glass was picked up, and graciously packaged all yummy leftovers for us.
