"John" who worked there said he would not look at it or do it for free. He even accused us of riding the bike and puncturing it. We told him, how do we know you guys even fixed it? John was really rude and very unprofessional. We walked out of there and never going back to this run down place.

This business lacks any regard or basic respect for its residential neighbors. At any given time, there are large groups of people congregated outside Velo Trap for 12-15 hours a day. They blast loud music at all hours. They have a yippy dog that often barks all day. They set up a red tent and bike gear on the side of the street where they are not located, which blocks through traffic in the alley. They block people from entering their own garages. The workers and patrons of Velo Trap chain smoke cigarettes and litter their cigarette butts all over others' property. Often, they set up chairs and bikes in front of other people's garages making it difficult to enter and exit our own residences. It seems like people are illegally living at Velo Trap. Even when Velo Trap is closed (on Sunday and Monday), dozens of people are gathered out front making noise and disturbing the neighbors at all hours. One night they kept playing Usher over and over at 1 in the morning. This area is residential. We shouldn't have to deal with Velo Trap's constant partying every single night of the week. The rent here is expensive, and we can't even peacefully enjoy our homes. This is entirely the owner's fault. He should know better than to allow this incredibly rude, inconsiderate behavior at his place of business, but he's too busy playing Peter Pan to the group of lost boys who need to find something else to do besides stand in front of his business for 12-15 hours a day. And on another note, organizing a mass bike ride to start at 5:00 a.m. on a Saturday morning in front of your business is completely disrespectful of your neighbors who are trying to sleep at the end of the work week. Again, the area is residential. This is beyond rude and inconsiderate. Velo Trap, you are an awful neighbor. The inconsideration and the audacity are unacceptable. If you need to party 12-15 hours a day, do it at your own home and stop bothering your neighbors.

All my questions were answered and they had my cruiser ready within 30 minutes. The parking lot is free to park in. The shop is wheelchair accessible. They have stairs and a ramp at the entrance, along with automatic doors. You can walk around the city while you're waiting for your bike. There's several cafes and restaurants within 5-10 minute walking distance. You could visit the State Capitol. Forewarning: You're going to pay, at minimum, $600 for an adult bike. Even a kid's bike starts at $350... If you need extra parts and accessories, I would recommend you buy them off of Amazon or somewhere cheaper. To give you an example: a tire pump here is over $100.

Luckily, it ended up being something minor, so they fixed it for me right there on the spot. They also helped me pick out a new bike seat since the one that came with my bike was extremely uncomfortable, and they even installed it for me. Since my bike is brand new and was already having issues, they gave me advice on how I could possibly get the repair cost reimbursed through the place I bought it from, which I really appreciated. On top of all that, they gave me a pamphlet with a bunch of local bike trails to check out. Overall, I had a really great experience and really appreciated how friendly and helpful Tim and Kevin were. I'll definitely be coming back if I need anything else for my bike!

I took my bike in to this store to get the brakes replaced which I expected to be about $200. He checked and was sure that I was a candidate and said that I should take my bike in to an authorized dealer and they would replace them for free. Sure enough, my BF took it in to an authorized dealer and they did it for free (after they tried to charge us $100 for labor which my BF protested). However, with Pacos, the staff here are EXTREMELY friendly and helpful. I brought my bike in with some concerns regarding my gears shifting, and Pancho took my bike onto the rack to inspect it. I was prepared to be given a diagnosis and perhaps a quote to see how much they would charge if I had them fix/adjust it for me. Instead, Pancho just took it upon himself to make these micro adjustments himself and even identified that my front derailleur was crooked and my front wheel was loose. Again, Pancho just made those adjustments himself to make sure everything was properly before I left the store. On top of that, I was not charged a dime. Totally unexpected, but highly appreciated! Fast forward to my second time coming to this shop, I was greeted by different staff. Yet, it was still the same high, friendly energy as the last time. Ayrton was there to assist and help me identify and issue I was having with my brakes. The way he spoke to me and went above and beyond to find answers he himself didn't know was much appreciated. Ayrton is a very friendly and outgoing guy and made sure I was taken care of before I left. After 3 straight days of flat tires from my son riding to and from school, enough was enough. I…read moreeven had Slime tubes, which are a complete SCAM! I searched high and low online, and figured I needed a tube liner that protects against those hard short thorns. I decided to give this place a shot. Came in and they recommended tube liner, and a thicker tube. They showed me how to cut the corners off the liner, along with tapering them, and overlap them, so it doesn't rub against the tube and create a flat. Also, gave me a short tutorial on how to install them, I had read some people really struggle with it. The tubes I got were REALLY thick and heavy. The install of the liner and new thick tubes went off without a hitch, very simple, even a caveman could do it. 2 weeks later, no flats, even after finding up to 5 thorns in the tire one day. Appreciate all the advice, even advising my son take a different route, and stay off of anything that needs water to live. Thank you!

I've recently been riding a bike that was passed down to me. It's an 80's road bike. Its my first…read moretime riding a bike since my old BMX bike from my middle school days. I'm in my 20s now and know absolutely zilch about bikes. My chain snapped and I brought it into the bike kitchen. I paid $10 cash for the shop fee and immediately a volunteer helped me mount up my bike and get to work. He was so welcoming and fun to work with. We evaluated whether or not my chain was salvageable, and decided we should take a few links from a chain in the back, and add it to mine. It was only $3, and from there he taught me everything about repairing a chain. He was so nice and helpful, I used the tools and he kept watch to make sure I was doing it right. Sometimes that can be stressful, but he made sure it was a fun environment and we laughed almost the whole time. I could not recommend this place more. For them, its really just about the bikes. It felt amazing to fix it myself, and learn something about my bicycle. The volunteer also helped inspect my bike to make sure nothing else needed fixing. He explained it like, "you already paid the shop fee, lets see what else we can do". I hope I learn enough to volunteer here one day. Truly a 10/10 experience.
