When I was at city brew the person says they are out of milk and I'm like how like you're out of milk how can you be out of milk? You're a coffee shop he makes drinks with milk. Then she says I have oat milk. No thank you. There's a grocery store right across the street. Why can't you go over there and she said she doesn't want to use her own money and city brew wouldn't let them have a store card to go get milk if they ran out so then she gave me two coupons that were half off because she didn't have a free drink. I like their coffee a lot. But they are constantly closed and have irregular hours. Monday-closed. Tuesday-open. Wednesday-closed. their regular hours/schedule do not reflect all the random days they are closed so there is no way to know in advance. read more

This place is terribly slow and has terrible service. In order to get your drinks you have to order via the drive through cause you'll never get your drink. The employee said that the drive through gets fast tracked and the drive through never had a break in cars. Quite literally, you won't get your drink for 30 minutes. read more

We were very impressed with their coffee drinks! I got a cold brew with oat milk and a couple pumps of mocha syrup and it seemed to be just the right amount of sweetness, just delicious though! & he got a Grizzly (something) chocolate peanut butter blended coffee drink & that was good too! Super friendly and helpful barista/cashier at the location in Bismarck. We had never been, as they dont have City Brew in our region. She explained the difference in the 701 latte, Morning Dakota latte (both sounded like yummy and sweet concoctions, but not what I was going for today). I ended up with a 12 oz Bianco, which is espresso, 2%, came sugar and a bit of Whole Milk if I remember correctly. Really flavorful overall, but lacking espresso flavor...not sure if that's good or bad. Either way, great service and tasty drink. read more

This is a good place to study! Spacious and clean with a lot of seating options. I love that they are open 7 days a week and later into the evenings. Staff is always friendly. The menu features numerous beverages and bakery items, as well as a few breakfast sandwiches and wraps. Everything I've tried here so far has been delicious! I'll definitely be back! read more

I've only ever gotten the iced frappe type drinks and hot light roast coffee, but both are very good. Their light roast coffee is similar to the blonde roast at Starbucks, but slightly less tangy. If you like Starbucks, you'll like this place. The bottom line: City brew has quality, great tasting drinks that is a less busy and a more local alternative to Starbucks, with equal quality. read more

Live near the coffee shop, decided to finally try it out! We decided to go inside and order. Had a trainee at the register, no one helping him out, every one was just minding their own business. Ordered a vanilla chai frappe. He asked me if I wanted that hot or cold. I said the frappe. It's cold. Boyfriend ordered a cold brew with milk and sweetener. He asked if that was hot or cold. Took him a couple of minutes to enter in both drinks. Gave him my card, and he wanted up dropping it behind the counter. At this point the other employees still haven't asked if he needed any help. We paid and waited for our drinks. One girl comes out from behind the counter. Gives my boyfriend a hot drink. Pretty sure she said "chai" and she walks off. We're just standing there confused. Then another guy hands my boyfriend his drink, WITH THE STRAW ALREADY PUT IN IT. Yuck. Go to the counter with the hot drink. Had to say "excuse me" three times to get the attention of one of them. The girl who gave my boyfriend the hot drink finally looks over, I tell her I ordered a vanilla chai frappe. Instead of apologizing and correcting it, She called over the guy who took the order AND the guy that actually made the hot drink and told them what I said. The guy who took the order just stood there confused, the guy who made it asked me what was wrong. I told him. He apologized and make it correctly. He put the drink on the counter and grabbed a straw. Just as I was about to grab both, he proceeded to put the straw in for me. Again, yuck. The drinks were decent. They forgot the sweetener in my boyfriends drink. We decided to give the drive thru a shot and tried their sparkling lemonades, they were pretty good, but neither had much of a lemonade taste to them. Mainly soda. Again, they handed us the drinks with the straws already in them. I'm not sure how other people feel about that, but it just disgusts me that they touch the straws we drink out of. I wouldn't requested otherwise, but we obviously didn't know they did that, and we were already waiting long enough to even care to ask them to remake hem without putting the straws in for us.
