We hit five different places in Old Town Scottsdale and definitely came away with our heads full of additional knowledge and our stomachs full of delicious food. It should come as no surprise that Lindsey is a teacher given the attention to detail and history in the information that she shared, and didn't mind one bit when I took some of the wind out of her sails with the Milwaukee connection that one of our steps--AZ88--had with a popular eatery back home. The amount of walking wasn't too much for my mom (recovering from knee surgery), and I cannot appreciate enough that the company didn't cancel the tour despite it just being the two of us on the tour with Lindsey. I also enjoyed that she was a true local, being on a first name-basis with much of the staff at the stops we made, driving home the comments she shared about being a local resident. The stops were varied from chips and salsa to bacon-wrapped water chestnuts, from elote to wine and cheese. And any tour that ends with gelato has to be good!

Each stop featured a unique atmosphere and tasty food. I really appreciated their ability to accommodate dietary restrictions -- because I don't eat red meat, I was provided with two smoked turkey tacos in place of brisket nachos, and with chicken tacos in place of pork tacos. This was a huge plus for me! We spent about half an hour at each establishment before walking to the next. As we traveled, Zach shared some fun facts about the area's history. There is also a zip line near here too but because of the intense heat I did not think to give it a try the day I went here. In the end, this is a solid place to check out and go to. The most popular visitation experience is through the self-guided audio tour, which my partner and I opted for on a Sunday morning during their last slot at 10:45am and purchased the additional matching card set. We parked in the small, gravel parking lot out front, walked to the gift shop entrance to start our audio tour. Since we were about 15 minutes late, we were advised to start a few stations into the tour and follow through until its completion. While it's clearly outlined on its website to bring your own earphones, we forgot to, but we were provided with equipment to borrow. We also downloaded the app for listening. This day was particularly hot, so we opted to skip over the outside stations and instead listen to their tour while sitting in the inside stations. The site in general is not very air-conditioned, although some stations do have some air-conditioning. I would highly recommend bringing an umbrella to shade from the sun as well as a hat and handheld personal fan. The experience speaks for itself. But I'd recommend it for anyone in the area with free time in the morning and an appreciation for art.

He took pics and even helped us setup some pictures. He took time to show us points of interest and give a brief history; some stories and legends. Unfortunately, during our tour today, we couldn't go to Page Springs or the other wineries in Cornville due to the fire that started midday today but the Cottonwood backup plan worked out great! The first stop, Alcantera in Camp Verde was a nice gem. I had never heard of them before and it was a good start to the tour. Lunch at Farm Go Go Cafe in Cornville was insanely delicious! Farm fresh ingredients. Everything that's included in the experience is wild: the ride to and from NAZ, the wine tastings AND lunch. She provided snacks and water in the vehicle as well. I 100% recommend people try this out as a fun day trip with friends or even as a romantic day date. I can't wait to see her business grow when she's able to take groups bigger than three/four.
