While I was in need of a few…read moreexperienced trades, what I wasn't looking for was a repeat of last flood's (tax-day) fiasco with yet another contractor. Sooooooo, after some lengthy discussions with the hubbs on self-contracting, and some seriously heavy searching and waiting out the influx of fly by the night wannabe's - I took a gamble on Residence Doctor. I had read many positive reviews on a few other sites and was confident in moving forward. Ultimately, we hired them to do a few things in my home that we couldn't manage to do ourselves, or just plain didn't quite figure out the best way to approach with all else that was going on and having to manage. My initial dealings were with Tammy (sweet as can be and very professional) who got all scheduled and set up for Greg to come out and bid what we needed done. Greg showed up, was straight up, and although I had to all but "hunt him down" for the estimate (to his credit - we were still somewhat in the thick of the flood recovery), it came back fair, reasonable, and very detailed. We opted to do the most important things and forgo some of the others that ultimately we could complete. The impression and communication made the difference for me, so I felt confident that my decision wouldn't backfire..... From the minor framing work (really old termite damage - preexisting) to the major tile job (laundry, powder/mudroom, & master bath), they (George included!) stayed on top of our job from beginning to end. Daily visits to the job site, regular telephone calls with updates/communication and feedback. Polar opposite of my previous experiences with that other contractor I hired! Not only that - they did what they could to reassure me that I could trust them AND the guys they had working for them, even referring me to other trades that we needed! Ultimately, The Residence Doctor provided us with a very stellar end result that I couldn't have been more pleased with! While they weren't the cheapest, they were by far the best of what I've had to chose from these days and will definitely hire them again - God-forbid I need them for anything major (or minor!)... I'm happy to say that as long as George & Greg and the staff at Residence Doctor continue to provide the service they gave to my family - I will absolutely rehire them - no questions asked!!

They didn't ask for any money until the job was ready to get started. Tony and his framing crew did a great job. No one can tell that the room was added on 14 years after the house was built. It's a seamless transition between the two. The room is well built and should stand up to the toughest hurricanes. The cost of the project seemed very reasonable for the amount of work they had to do. I would definitely recommend them for your next home improvement project.

All of the upgrades that a homeowner could want without the, "Well this will be extra...These cabinets are considered and upgrade, so it will cost you this...". My daughter fell in love with the home as well. Now when we walked upstairs to the bathroom, I just loved it. What more can I say, you just have to check out their work for yourselves. They clearly understood our vision and leveraged their expertise to install our tricky backsplash tile in 2 days. They went above and beyond to make sure the tiles were cut perfectly and to fix mistakes left from others contractors, including patching drywall, and fixing baseboards. The craftsmanship of his wood floor installer was awesome. Besides painting the house, his painter fixed a wall so well that the results were as though there had never been a problem there! Outstanding work!!! Our kitchen, Sam went out of his way to accommodate our requirements... and again it turned out gorgeous. Recently we went back to Sam's shop to buy carpet for our rooms upstairs. We got an excellent quality carpet, cheaper then many other shops in town. Believe me, I did shop around. And guess what? The installers were "AWESOME"... yes capital letters!!!!! He made a major mistake with my backsplash and then would not take responsibility for it. When it came to billing I believed he was overcharging me and not being honest about how much it cost. So I asked him to send me an invoice of all of the work that I had done he told me to "take a hike" I have the text to prove it. A business owner should always treat their customers with respect especially when a problem arises and there is absolutely no professionalism here. Do not ever get work done from this place. If you still decide to work with his business please be wary and get everything on paper. Because he will talk in circles and try to fool you. He took a major advantage of the trust that I gave him and then insulted me in the end.

I worked for this company and I can tell you firsthand that it is a very shady practice and their…read moremethods of acquiring clients are very, VERY predatory. The company downloads thousands on thousands of phone numbers from an online database and sends unsolicited calls to anybody they can early as 8 AM (even calling businesses and renters on holidays) in order to rope in clients by offering a special free estimate (which is standard practice). If you do choose to accept the free estimate, they will try to overcharge and upsell you on any sort of home remodeling projects you're considering due to the small size of the company. From a worker's point of view, the company will hide information on the jobs you confirm and will threaten your job security once a week if you do not get 2 potential jobs per day. This unfortunately leads to the harassment of many Houston citizens through desperate callbacks for months on end and even giving misleading information about the company's status with the Better Business Bureau. There are cockroaches and bugs living throughout their showroom and the owner, contractors, and most of upper management do not speak English as well. All in all, this company is very unorganized yet uncomfortably persistent when it comes to finding clients and will often overcharge clients who are in desperate need remodeling and do not have time or resources to find a second opinion. If you do come in contact with them or happen to receive an unsolicited call, I strongly suggest finding another contractor to save you from a headache/wasting your time. I would even make sure to block the number because they will not stop calling if you don't.
