Long story short...I decided to visit Rome, Georgia once again after camping in Cedar Bluff, Alabama this weekend with friends. I haven't been to Rome in five years and decided to come back, since it was 45 minutes from Cedar Bluff. I was craving coffee when I got to Rome this afternoon and this is the first place that Google told me to try. The guys at the counter were friendly and made sure my coffee was perfect. I got an iced latte with caramel. It was probably the best coffee I've had in a long time. I liked seeing the jukebox when you walked in and the vinyl records and arcade machines in the corner. I felt like I walked into a time warp to the 70s when walking into the store. They had a whole wall of nostalgic candy and yummy sodas. They also had a fresh FroYo section and an ice cream section where there are people who are ready to let you sample flavors or scoop out whatever you chose. Wow! This place is so cool! It's more than just an ice cream shop. They have soft-serve ice cream, frozen yogurt, shakes, and a full-service coffee bar plus a huge variety' of candy and treats. The decor is an amazing mix of nostalgia and modern with so many neat things to look at, tons of stuff on the walls and hanging from the ceiling. You could spend lots of time checking it all out. It's a great hangout for the young crowd too. There is a cool little bar area that some teens were socializing at that reminded me of adults having cocktails but instead the were have shakes! Also large table areas for bigger crowds. They even have a game room in the back with video games. Very fun place! read more

I have become addicted to bubble tea. I searched Yelp while I was in Rome for a training and found this was the sole place that had bubble tea. I opted to give it a try. The creamery seems like a fun hangout. There are games for families and ice cream. I ordered my tea and asked for Boba and Strawberry bubbles. They said they were out of Boba which was a huge disappointment since this is the staple for bubble tea. I opted to get my tea anyway without boba and just have strawberry bubbles. The bubbles were very chewy. They would pop and then have to be chewed up. Other places have popping bubbles that pretty much dissolve after popping. I was not a huge fan. read more

Interior is a bit hectic with so much white noise that everything sounds muffled. Their boba tea seems like it was made by someone who had never had it before. Tapioca was a bland tasteless mush, the tea itself isn't horrible but it seemed more like syrup than tea. Overly sweet to the point that it was sickening. Finished up dinner and was walking down the street looking for dessert options. First I stopped in to an ice cream shop a few doors down looking for a sundae with peanut butter. No luck as that place did not have it as a topping option and I don't want to be the first to review it with that experience since I did not eat there. I kept walking and came across this place. Still no peanut butter topping. However, they also served coffee, and was one of the few places I have ever seen affagado dessert advertised. And lucky me they had a chocolate peanutbutter hand dipped option that went great with the espresso poured over it. A side note for all the "retro" candy that was in the shop that reminded me of when I was a kid. Now that I have kids of my own I picked up a few of the ones i rememberd most to share with them. Customer service is some of the worst I have ever experience. High school employees who use the shop as a hangout spot for their friends and act like it's a burden to do their job. I would not come here if you want a quality shot of espresso. Basics of espresso knowledge are lacking. Unsure of how to pull a ristretto shot. Pulled double shot lacked any crema and quickly dissipated. Perhaps this place is suitable if you are looking for more milk based drinks however the foundation of those drinks are quality espresso. The boba tea was the worst I have had. I don't know how they store the tapioca balls but they are dense and hard unlike what they are suppose to be. On top of that when I went they were low on tapioca and so we didn't get that many. The drink itself was way more milk than tea and ice made up the whole drink. I could barely taste the tea. Take out the ice alone and you're left with half a third of the cup. The inside itself was cute but there was a lot of ambient sound. Stopped in on the way back from Huntsville. They have soft and hard ice cream. Buddy and I had the hard and it was delicious. We had apple pie and rocky road. Went here based on reviews and recommendations from hotel clerk. Won't return. Got a vanilla icecream with some hot fudge sauce on it. A 20 ounce cup was $14. I wouldn't complain about the price except it was absolutely awful. It had a bland taste even for vanilla and the texture was off. Like the powder mix they use hadn't been mixed properly. When I said something to the young lady working she checked and said there was nothing wrong with it. That was end of the conversation. I didn't even eat half off it before throwing it away. My suggestion is don't come here you'd be much better off at Dairy Queen or even McDonald's! read more
