While this place is definitely your Instagram worthy coffee shop, small town vibe (I'm no exception) it's not only for looks because it was delicious as well. Came here one weekday morning and found it to be busy enough to be a community and tourist space but not so busy it was overwhelming. The cashier seemed a little new, but nice. Thankfully, the barista was well well-versed and helped out. The latte I got was delicious and well-made. I love that they have a lot of community stuff going on and great meeting/study/workspaces. This place was absolutely cuuute!! The vibe here was so chill, definitely a place I'd come to work and hang. The customer service was great. The girl at the cash register was so sweet and the barista was friendly. I ordered the Carmella. It was sort of their take on a caramel macchiato. Vanilla, caramel, milk and espresso. It was pretty yummy. The beans tasted so good and the sweetness level was just perfect. Parking is a little tricky because it seems to get packed but it's worth waiting around or walking to the shop. read more

My sisters and I visited this morning to get coffee before my wedding. We walked in and loved the ambiance of the place. All our coffees were great however one of my sisters got their drip black coffee and did not like it. She went up to the coffee bar to ask if she could switch it out and the barista laughed at her and said "you're going to have to get back in line." She then turned around to her co worker and started talking loud enough for my sister to hear and said "well she ordered it." Everything else about the experience was great but it was very disappointing for my sister to be talked to in a rude manner. We have all worked in customer service and completely understand if that could not have been accommodated. However the attitude from the barista was very unnecessary. The blonde haired girl and the girl manning the register were great! It was just the girl with the dark hair in the Swift and Finch sweatshirt working the espresso machine that made this a disappointing experience. read more

Spotted this place on an afternoon walk shortly after we arrived in town. Immediately intrigued, I'm all for visiting independent coffee shops when traveling. Plus the reviews on Yelp were through the roof! We rolled in the next morning after a peaceful walk across the river and through downtown. It was packed and there was a line. No deterrent for us! Imagine our surprise when we discovered that each 16oz latte automatically includes 3 shots--as regular travelers as well as drinkers of triple lattes, I can tell you this is very rare. We were thrilled! We found seats at a bar area along a window and had some time to check out the scene...this place has a great ambience and we loved that the bright red roaster was smack dab in the middle of the space. Pleasantly surprised when they walked our drinks all the way to us. It's the little things like that no one does anymore. Very well made lattes, the almond milk they use is unsweetened, a first for me at a coffee shop. I didn't mind, husband added sugar. Perfectly steamed. Couldn't wait to visit the next morning before we headed out of town. (Sadly, we discovered Swift & Finch is closed on Sundays--see my Starbucks Rome review for a surprisingly excellent alternative experience.) If I lived in Rome I'd be a Swift & Finch regular. read more

Strong contender for best coffee shop in Rome. It's probably the best - I don't really know who could take on the champ. They roast their own beans in house and have really good coffee. All of the espresso drinks that I've had have been very good. I normally get a cortado, but they've never given me a bad drink. The space is well designed and comfy. I always see people working or studying here. I really wish they were open Sundays. I've driven here at least 3-4 times only to find the doors closed or to find them hosting a special event. Great coffee place in downtown Rome, GA. They have a huge roaring room where they roast their own coffees. They also sell bags of coffee beans or ground coffee as well. I got a Colombian coffee bean pack for my mother. She loves coffee. Their ambience inside is great. There is a back parking lot available for their customers. Not necessary to park on the main road. They don't carry a whole lot.of.options for eating. Just the Quiche you see in the picture along with few donuts, bagels and Kolache. This is purely a coffee place and if you are a coffee lover, don't miss this place. The staff were friendly and help with choices. This place is family friendly and kids friendly. The decor and furniture inside the store is amazing! You can sit there all day and work with your computer or read books. I am not sure of they have outdoor seating. Popped in during an impromptu walking tour of downtown Rome. What a gem!! Light fixtures and furniture arrangements define seating vignettes for guests, ranging from places to chat to larger tables upon which to work. Coffee drinks were served at correct temps with a smile and highly knowledgeable service. Worthy of every penny spent. A lox special was shockingly delicious and deeply flavored, served on a bagel. I kept it simple and ordered an iced coffee for takeaway. I was on my way to a post lunch meeting so I didn't get to spend time in this space but would definitely return. Cute little coffee shop in a busy little city that roasts its own beans! They have their own lot, which is nice, though I did have a little trouble with the WiFi when it was really packed. It was easy to find an outlet for working. There was a lot of local art on the walls and prints for sale. I tried a Coca Cola-Coffee frap, which was actually really good, their regular medium roast which I liked a lot, and I was happy they had some food options, like bagels and quiche. They have a really pretty outdoor patio, and a back room which I guess can be reserved for group meet ups. Very cute! I'd work here a bunch if I lived in the area. read more

Love this coffee shop! It was my hangout for a couple of days to work while visiting Rome. The atmosphere is both energized and cozy. The employees were friendly and helpful. My favorite was the Lavender coconut milk latte. The highlight is that the roaster is actually in the coffee shop - like IN it, not behind glass, not in the back room, but actually in the space. What a great experience to watch them roast fresh beans, see the process as the finish time is calculated and the aromas. We left with two pounds of freshly roasted Kenya beans...that lasted about two weeks once we got back. The Kenya coffee was EXCEPTIONAL! read more

I particularly like the urban art studio interior with potted plants, eclectic furniture and lamps and prominent artwork displayed from local art and photography students. Love the music playing as well...a contemporary alternative mix that's not too loud, playing just right in the background. There is also seating and tables available outside for enjoyment in better weather. If you're a coffee aficionado, I guarantee you'll love Swift&Finch. We waited almost an hour for them to make the coffee. And while I didn't say anything because I know things happen. They completely messed my order up, and when I asked if they would fix it they said they didn't mess it up, and then proceeded to fix it by over compensating what I wanted and further ruining the coffee. We witnessed many people before us cancel their orders and leaving. This was an unexpected experience here since we normally have a good experience. read more
