I did have a good time even though I gave it three stars. My reasoning is they changed the pick up location without notifying everyone and they were late. I also think Berkley Pizza isn't a very good spot, there are so many other bars downtown not sure why they chose a pizza shop. I would consider doing it again only if they changed up the stops. read more

What a blast this was!! We rounded up a group of friends for a fun day of beer and biking and loved every minute of it! The music and dancing were a blast, the beer (and food) was great, the perma-grins made for fun photos, it was just awesome in every way. We thought the locations were great and had good beer selections, I just wish we had time to sample more! I'm sure we'll do it again soon, but I'd love to extend it by an hour so we can take our time at each stop and perhaps sample some food at each stop too. It would've also been cool if the tasting at each stop included more than one beer, but considering we did the Amazon Local deal, it was still worth every penny in our minds! read more

I had bought a Groupon for a 3 hour scavenger hunt. Booking the reservation I was told we would be added to a party of 4 doing a pub crawl, but they would add the scavenger hunt on for everyone and extend the tour the extra hour for everyone. Sounded good to us. Then I was called the day before and told there was some confusion and we would only get the 2 hour tour. We followed the directions on where to meet and they were unclear. It is not on the corner it more than halfway down that street. Everyone was confused about that. Need to change description. When we found them we were told the 2 of us would be doing the scavenger hunt against each other and be separated at the stops from the rest of the group. Very different from what was explained to us. I explained what I was told on the phone, but it didn't really matter. We ended up just going along with the pub crawl, even though our discount trip cost more than the non discount version of what we ended up doing. With that said...we still ended up having lots of fun with our new friends, blasting music, and cruising around between bars. The business end needs to get it together and deliver accurate facts and all employees should be on the same page with what they tell their guests. read more

We rented 2 of the 10 person bikes for my wife's 30th. It was 13 girls and me, and it was a ton of fun. We did a combo of the scavenger hunt and pup crawl. Chris was awesome. Both bikes had really loud stereo systems and you can hookup you cellphone or ipod and play whatever music you like. We traveled down 5th with the music blaring and 13 chicks sings songs and everyone on the streets were taking pictures. At one point there was a cop who pulled over a mercedes and we blasted bad boys. Evrryone on 5th street and even the cop turned and started laughing. read more

Beer! Bikes! And did I mention beer? We gathered a group of friends to ride around downtown and try this out and it was great! The places they stopped were perfect - not so crowded you can't get anything by the time you need to leave, but not ghost towns either. And the bikes... let's just say you won't be giving Lance Armstrong a challenge. Easy to pedal, and they blaze along at a brisk walking speed. Our guide was great... fun and kept things in line. All in all well worth it! So get your spandex bike shorts and your favorite drinking T-shirt, crank up the music and pedal to earn those beers! read more

We did this with a 14 person group of girls for a birthday outing and had an absolute BLAST! We were on 2 bikes and did the 2 hour tour which went to 3 awesome bars with craft beer tastings (but also had whatever you want to drink.) This was a super fun way to be with friends, get a little exercise, see some fun bars in the San Diego Gas Lamp quarter, and just do something different and unique! Our drivers were so fun and plugged in our iPod so that our pre-made playlist rocked our entire bike-ride! I can't wait to do it again! read more

VERY DISAPPOINTED! 1) The music boxes on both of the bike platforms did not work so NO MUSIC! 2) One of the pedaling mechanisms were broken on the platform 3) When we get to the first bar, we ask for our flight of beer and they give us a (4)oz sample! That's all we get at all (3) bars in a craft beer tasting tour is (1)4oz sample at each! Typically a flight is (4) 4oz. beers and what you think you would be getting at a craft beer tasting tour. Not a darn SAMPLE of 1 beer. You could walk in on your own and ask for a sample without paying a dime! It was for my birthday and I really thought I was going to listen to music and enjoy a good beer tasting tour. It was not the case. The only good thing about the tour was that are driver was apologetic and nice. But I didn't book it for that! read more

Only 3 stars, BUT first and foremost I have to say this company has one of the best customer service i have ever encountered. I bought a groupon for $59 for two people, it included 3 hours scavenger hunt, prizes, and 4 ounce sampler of beer at the end. When i went to reserve a date, they mentioned the date i wanted was only available in the morning which i could not do. They offered me a later time, but they told me it would only be 2 hours instead of 3, and that they could only do it if nore people joined (we were 2). I hestitantly accepted, luckily last minute more people joined and we were able to do it. We got theere on time it was 3 couples including us, there is no motor on the bike so you do all the work. They do play music, and ashely drives the bike although she does not pedal. Riding the bike itself is pretty fun, BUT the stops you are taken to were not as great as i had hoped, we were given clues and had to find the answers and come back. We made 3 stops total, the last stop was dicks last resort, and we were offered 15%off our bill. When i asked about our free drink the driver did not know what i was talking about, and also there were no prizes at the end. Overall it all felt very rushed, and was a bit pricey for what it was. I would suggest this if you come with your own 8 people, and music. BUT amy the owner was great, when i called her and told her we did not receive everything. She made me feel better, and even refunded me, and explained they are working towards making it better. to end this long review, customer service is great, the experience itself, not that great, but could be much better with your own group, and in the future this company might make it more enjoyful. I booked a City Cruiser bar crawl for my friend's Bachelorette party last weekend in San Diego. None of us had tried it before, and although we were exhausted from 2 previous nights' partying, we ended up really enjoying the bar crawl! The 2 hours flew by! We got so much attention from people walking around, driving by, or sitting outside - high five's, lots of people asking to take our pictures, etc. The first stop, Bootleggers, was our favorite bar, while the last ones we stopped at weren't playing music due to it being football Sunday, but we grabbed a shot at each and continued on. The pedaling is a workout and we had 7 out of the 8 seats filled so unless your party is all in shape, I wouldn't recommend any less than 5 on 1 bike. Also, be sure to make a great playlist - they can hook-up your iPod/iPhone. The songs that ended up being the most fun to sing and pedal to ended up being 90s boy band hits haha. Also, keep in mind the cancellation policy since you have to pay upon booking a reservation. We booked 2 bikes and only ended up needing 1 due to some girls flaking out last minute, but Amy worked with us to try to get our money back (though, in the end, we didn't get the $240 back). Amy did offer us an extra hour on the 1 bike, which we would have gladly done had we not been hungover! Despite me wasting $240 on the 2nd bike we didn't use (which really was my mistake anyways for not asking about cancellation when I made the reservation) I still am extremely satisfied - so that is saying a lot! All in all, I highly recommend City Cruiser and would book again in a heartbeat. Amy (owner I believe) is fantastic to work with, and our driver was upbeat, crazy and awesome to hang with.
