Fried chicken and fries were absolutely gas here. Definitely recommend!!! Skin was super crispy, unfortunately they only have 1 flavor.

I got a three piece chicken (one thigh and two drumsticks). I asked for spicy but apparently they do not have that instead I was given a hot plum sauce. Price came out to $7.45. There was a 10 minute wait time to order but negligible wait time after the order was placed since chicken was not made fresh to order. The skin was crunchy however there was not a lot of breading on the chicken so the coating was quite thin, some people may like that. However since I prefer chicken with a crunchy heavily breaded crust, this chicken was not for me. Meat was bland and didn't taste seasoned. I found it lacking in taste Overall nothing to rave about, I much prefer fried chicken from Popeyes and Jollibee. Think I Found my New Go-To Spot for Philly Cheesesteak Wasn't really feeling the four pieces of fried chicken in the display case. Thankfully the menu had some variety. Burgers, fries, wings, fried chicken, to Philly sandwiches. Ordered the Philly Cheese Chicken Combo. Best chicken Philly I have ever had, if not the closest to the real thing. No gimmicks with multiple kinds of cheese, bbq sauce, and random toppings. Just straight soft greasy bun, seasoned chicken, bell peppers, onions, and melted cheese. That comfort food. Fries were your regular shoestring but were topped with a nice cajunish/sweet seasoning. Based on that meal alone I would definitely go again. Especially with winter coming going to be added to the list of comfort food spots. 5/5 read more

I'll keep this one short... I think there are definitely better options than City Fried Chicken if you are just looking for some decent fried chicken. Most KFC or Popeyes are better (I really can't speak to the other food items since I only ordered two pieces of fried chicken) Why? I think the fried chicken were pretty bland. When's the last time you had bland fried chicken? The batter generally lacked spice and the chicken itself despite being moist didn't really have much of taste other than the original taste of chicken. Seems like marination is a bit lacking here. The batter is also a bit problematic. Upon taking a bite you hear a slight sound of crunch but when you go for the follow through something is really off - it feels like the batter is stuck to your teeth. I really found the texture of the batter a bit mind boggling. The interior of the restaurant also looks a bit dated. Whichever city this fried chicken restaurant is representing, I guess I won't be back... toodaloo! read more

Amazing! Just amazing. If you ever visit the place, make sure you get the streak fries! The flavourful sauces combined with the crunch of the peppers make this fish own to remember. The only one thing I was a little off set by would be the size of the fries, rather than fluffy fries, the fries mimicked McDonald's fries. Otherwise this dish was perfect. I would recommend that you eat it fresh there rather than taking it home. But overall, this dish left me wanting more. I would defiantly go back for a round two!! read more

I was craving some chicken and was recommended to this place by a friend and man was it great. We got a grilled chicken and fried chicken sandwich (cut each in half so we could try both). Both chicken sandwiches were awesome but my personal favourite was the fried one. I liked how the chicken was not over breaded like some places and I could actually taste it. Everything was well put together and I had no complaints about the service , I plan to go back again to try the philly cheese steak which looked yummy as well. read more

Having read some good reviews about City Fried Chicken on Yelp some time back, I eventually realized that it is located in a strip plaza across from a grocery store that I go to sometimes. I stopped in one evening after shopping, and ordered the steak on fries for take-out. The price had increased since the photo on Yelp, so it was now $12 with a can of pop. The fries were good, with thin pieces of beef and a cheese sauce with peppers and onions. They were quite busy that day, so my order took about 10min to make. I then returned a couple weeks later to try their chicken. I ordered the 2pc chicken and mashed potatoes, but they were apparently out of potatoes (including potato salad) that day, so I had macaroni salad instead. The chicken was okay, but nothing special; the salad was a little small for the price. Total cost was $9, cash or debit only, and the wait time was almost 10min again. Overall, the food is okay and the service average, but I can't give the same glowing review that others have given. read more

OMG. This place is amazing. The steak fries is no joke the best thing I ever had in my life. Don't look like it but once you have a bite the flavors just explode in your mouth. Brined eh? It was evident from the moistness of this chicken. The owner is also a very friendly guy who hooked us up with french fries. They didn't have white meat at the time. I go there for lunch every once in while. The meal is fairly large and filling. I love their chicken wings. Very affordable.

Chicken burger is good, has an interesting BBQ and chipotle sauce condiment, and fries are seasoned well but could use more salt, but you can add your own. This location is superior to the York Mills one and chicken even when not fresh is worth it. Might be a dollar more than Popeyes but I feel Popeyes has gone downhill. read more
