When I arrived home Friday evening and did not feel the usual cool air, I immediately started searching the internet for a HVAC company that could come and repair my ac. After trying 3-4 companies and being told no one could come out until Monday, I found City Heating & Air. After reading wonderful reviews, I called. A very nice lady ( I think her name was Mary) answered immediately. I explained my situation and she took my information and said she will see if anyone was available and would call me back in about 30 minutes. In less than 10 minutes, she called to tell me that someone would be out in about 2 hrs. What a relief!!! Adam was at my home in exactly 2 hrs. He was very professional and pleasant. He immediately diagnosed what the issue was and explained and demonstrated to me what was happening. He answered all of my questions honestly and without hesitation. Everything I had read in the company's reviews were on point (except the 2 unfavorable one). Adam informed me of how important it is to have regular maintenance performed on the air conditioner, which I must confess, I had not had done in years. I decided to go ahead and let Adam clean my unit, and I was amazed at how badly it needed it. I would and have already recommended City Heating & Air to friends and family. I wish every repair person could be like Adam. I never once felt like I was being taken advantage of or overpriced. Great job Adam. City heating and air was one of the most professional HVAC business I have ever encountered here in Charlotte. I have had issues with my AC unit pretty much every year for the past 6 years. This was my first time contacting City and I am very glad I did. I was able to immediately get an appointment. Adam came out to the house, was very professional, taking the time to explain to me (and show me) the things that are wrong with my unit. When we realized that the whole unit was completely dead (I knew this was coming from previous assessments) he was very prompt at quoting me an extremely reasonable price. He was out to my house 2 days later and had the whole unit installed over the weekend (to work around my work schedule). Unfortunately the original installation at my house was not very quality. He took the time to explain my system to me, why it was bad and why what he was installing was a much better choice (at a very reasonable price). He was promptly on time and good for his word. As a female I sometimes worry that business people are trying to sell me more than I need, well with Adam that was never the case. I would absolutely recommend Adam and City Heading and Air to anyone and they will be my sole HVAC providers from here out. read more

Excellent service. My A/C stopped working today and I contacted City Heating & Air for assistance. The operator (Mary) promptly answered the phone with a friendly voice and great attitude. After a brief discussion of the problem I was having with my A/C, I was advised that a technician would arrive to my house within two hours. The technician (Adam) showed up promptly and on time, with a warm smile and professional appearance. After investigating the problem with my A/C, it was determined that I hadn't properly replaced my A/C filters in a timely manner, nor maintained my unit in general. Adam immediately went to work to rectify the problem, and in short order, my A/C unit was up and running stronger than ever. I'm a first time home owner, and I have absolutely no knowledge of the inner workings of A/C units. Adam could have told me that my A/C unit needed major work, or needed to be replaced, but instead, he was truthful, and performed the repairs with minimal cost. City Heating and Air Conditioning, as well as Adam, are extremely honest and professional, and I highly recommend them. I will definitely have them service my A/C and heating unit on a regular basis. This company is ONE angry guy with a van and short temper (and once HE knows that YOU know that calling him was a mistake - he'll show it to you). He will be angry if you don't answer his text - and he'll be angry if you text him first because he is too busy "...for texting all day!"). He hates to put ANYTHING in writing (ever). Maybe some kind of phobia he's developed due to legal matters he's face in the past? He insists on meeting you in PERSON so that he can hard sell you with double/smooth talk "Okay, now I tell you the truth, my friend... blah blah blah." He wants to fill your HVAC with FREON... this way he can make HUNDREDS without even getting his hands dirty! A little work - a lot of money! Of course... he could just say "You need a BRAND NEW HVAC SYSTEM" without even opening the one you have. I was very disappointed. You've been warned, brothers and sisters... So my AC unit decided to stop during the night. I had called few other places and they all said it would take 2 days before they could come out (are you kidding me) this company said it would take few hours but possibly within 2 hours-WOW! Sure enough , they called me back saying they were in the area , they fixed the problem right away , some fuse that apparently was bad and it was just throwing warm air instead of cold , their price was very reasonable especially when they came out in the middle of night , I'll definitely use then again and will recommend them to all my friends read more

called city heating and air when we came home and the a/c was not operating ADAM answered my call and he was over by the house within the hour. fixed the problem right away within the half hour, then came by the house the next day to clean the outside unit.very soft spoken professional ,courteous,will call again during the winter to check our furnace for the winter . I can not stress how awesome of a company this is and how great of a technician they have with Adam. We called them at 6pm and Adam showed up within a few hours to first diagnose our AC issues, leave us with temporary air for the night and was back the following morning fixing our AC unit. Adam was great. The AC unit I had in my 3rd floor condo was the original unit from the 1960's. Needless to say, he had to do a lot of extra work, including running new copper tubing through the 2 condos below me.
