They have been unbelievably responsive to every situation regardless of it being an urgent matter or just routine maintenance (I usually forget to schedule my routine maintenance ahead of time). The technicians are very knowledgeable, which has been made apparent from conversing with them about my HVAC system over the years. My washer had been violently shaking since I purchased it used 2 years ago but it worked so I never bothered to get it fixed but when my dryer stopped blowing heat I found this company on Yelp & I'm so glad I did. Our dryer started making an awful squeaking sound as we were doing laundry one afternoon. It could be heard from the basement up to the second level bedrooms. Appliance Medic was easy to schedule with- one representative came out for the initial inspection/quote and to order the right parts, and another representative came out a few days later once the right repair parts arrived (bearings and washers), and fixed the dryer. I called to schedule service/repair for our washer and was contacted by Gabby right away, she was very helpful and pleasant. Jason arrived early (!!) to fix our washing machine and was able to diagnose the problem and fix it in less than 30 minutes. After the first company suggested I use a grill lighter from here on out because he couldn't source the part from his usual supplier, I called Appliance Medic. A technician (Jason D) talked to me for 15-20 minutes to understand my concern, and felt sure he could fix it. Jason did fix the burner and exemplified customer service in the process. **Update: About 30 minutes after writing this review, the owner called me about the conversation I had with his staff about the billing issue (I don't know if he saw this review or not - he did not mention the review). He apologized for the billing error and seemed genuinely apologetic. He even waived the service fee because of the error. I've updated my review to reflect this development. Original review: Inaccurate billing. I had a dishwasher repair appointment this morning. The technician was on time and friendly. It was a (literally) 5-minute visit, since the tech quickly figured out that electric switch for the dishwasher was off (I had no idea that there was a switch for it). The invoice for the service call was for 1.5 times their usual service fee, plus a parts fee (charges were for nearly double the regular service fee). All of that when the tech literally flipped a switch. I had to call and talk to the company, who agreed to send a corrected invoice. I'm not sure if this was an honest mistake or an attempt at overcharging, but I would not use the company again because of this. read more

This past Sunday, I experienced that sick feeling in your gut when you reach into your fridge, and your beverage isn't as cold as it should be. I checked the settings, which were where they should have been, and then checked the freezer. While not as cold as it was supposed to be, the meat in the freezer was still frozen and not thawing. So, I upped the cold setting on the refrigerator to see what would happen. Nothing happened, the fridge was still not anywhere near cold enough. I emptied the perishables in the fridge into a cooler and iced them down. I had seen an Appliance Medic van parked on the street just down from me, and I figured that since they were close by they might be more responsive. So Monday morning first thing I gave them a call. They took my info and in just a few minutes a scheduler called me back and I made an appointment for someone to be at the house between 5 and 6 that evening. She said the tech would call me prior to showing up. That afternoon at about 4:25, a tech called and said he could be at the house in about 25 minutes if that was ok, and I indicated it was. Shawn knocked on my door about 4:45. After, he verified the information I had given them on the phone, he said "I believe I know what the problem is, let's take a look". Sure enough, after I emptied the freezer, the back wall was frozen over. After removing the back wall and exposing a completely frosted over coil, he defrosted it with a small steaming unit, and replaced the heater along with it's thermostat. He then cleaned the back panel and reinstalled it. He set the controls and told me to give it a couple of hours before restocking the freezer. My refrigerator is now back in great working order. Shawn was friendly, courteous, knowledgeable, and efficient, all of which I greatly appreciated. Based on my experience I would highly recommend Appliance Medic to anyone. read more

Appliance Medic was hired through our homeowners warranty company so we didn't have a say, but they were great to work with. I missed a call on a Saturday and forgot to call back that night. Monday I received another call. I scheduled a service call two days later. At the last minute I had to cancel and when Robert called me to reschedule he was extremely accommodating and was able to fit us in later in the day. I so appreciate the compassion he showed in working around our busy schedules. Our fridge starting doing the dreaded clicking loop around dinner time on a Monday evening (click, start working for .5 seconds, stop, click, repeat), so we unplugged it and called Appliance Medic immediately. Thankfully they were able to make a morning appointment for the next day! When the time came they tested the fridge to make sure there weren't any other issues, replaced the control panel and had the fridge working again within a short amount of time. I was referred to Appliance Medic by a friend because I needed some minor repairs done. I am always wary of contact forms on websites, but I completed the form and, to my surprise, I actually heard back from someone quickly. I set up a time for my repair and the technician arrived on schedule. He was very professional, completed my repairs quickly, and didn't leave me with sticker shock from the bill. :) I have a rental home and called back a few weeks later to have them check on an issue with the refrigerator. Unfortunately, nothing could be done to fix that - or, rather, it wouldn't have been worth it to fix it. However, the technician was able to stop by the rental property the same day to check out the issue, which was appreciated by both me and my tenant. I have since referred Appliance Medic to others, including my parents who are fixing up their home to sell. The technician has been able to make a number of repairs around their home. More importantly, he's saved them A LOT of money by finding the real cause of their appliance issues and fixing things that others didn't think could be fixed. Called Appliance Medic on a Wednesday. They called me back the next day (Thurs) and the technician was at my house to fix my dishwasher, with the part by 1:30pm-same day. The technician was knowledgeable, courteous and had my dishwasher fixed within an hour. Appliance Medic charged me $48 for an intake valve for a Samsung dishwasher. A different company - Charlotte Dishwasher Repair was going to charge me $96 for the same part! I highly recommend using Appliance Medic- Thanks for being fair and honest. read more
