Got everything scheduled for 1st thing the next day. Abraham and Bailey came out to our home right on time and made the install seamless. I have nothing but nice things to say about all the gentlemen that came out to get this done. Extremely friendly, knowledgeable, quick and easy. They are definitely efficient in their systems. From sales to install was quick and painless. Hopefully I don't have anymore fun expenses coming my way but if I do, I will undoubtedly call Morris Jenkins for it. read more

Reading the reviews reminded me of a similar situation with my AC. I was a member of the service plan, to which they service my unit. Ironically, and I would say it's speculative, however my AC unit has not run the same since. Last year I had them come add freon and literally a month later I had to call a family friend to do the same thing, to which he indicated that I didn't have any Freon in the system. Again, I have no way of knowing what was done, however I can only look at what I do know. Morris Jenkins came, they serviced, it didn't work. Family friend came, serviced unit and it did work. Morris Jenkins recommended I replace the entire unit, which I considered, until I got a second opinion from someone I trust. Unfortunately, we are at the mercy of companies that have P&L's and sometimes it comes at the "expense" of its customers. Stewardship matters, and you have to be a good steward of people's trust. read more

TERRIBLE company!! Came out to my elderly mother's house because her AC unit was not working. They told my mother it would cost her $14,000!!! because it needed a whole new unit. Told my mother "It can't be fixed!" Tried to get her to sign a contract to pay. When my mother told them she would have another company look at it, they told her the other company was a 'scam' and that that company uses 'old replacement' parts. They went on to say that the other company would not make it out here for at least 6 weeks. Needless to say, the other company came out (2 days later) and told my mother that 'someone' cut off the AC unit inside AND outside. The company told my mother that she only needed a replacement coil, and fixed the issue! Morris Jenkins should be AVOIDED. They are HORRIBLE beyond measure. read more

Great experience with Morris Jenkins. Just had a service done because our A/C went out last night before the hottest day of the year today, and fortunately it turned out to be an easy and inexpensive fix. We called last night at dinner time and got an appointment for 8:00 this morning (we could have had a 10:00 appointment last night but chose to wait). Technician was right on time, very helpful and quickly diagnosed and fixed our little problem. MJ I'm sure isn't the cheapest, but they provide excellent service and we have used them for years and are very happy. They've been around forever and we switched to them partly for stability as our prior HVAC companies kept merging or going out of business. read more

The top quality in repairs and installations for me is customer service. I don't mind if people make mistakes; it's how they correct them that's the issue. I've used Morris-Jenkins for well over ten years now for plumbing, HVAC, inspections and even a Level 2 EV charger installation; of all those visits three times something unexpected happened. All three times I was treated like my concern was the biggest thing on the manager's plate and addressing the issue happened quite swiftly. I got a call from AJ to tell me he would arrive within 35 mins. he arrived on time. he was very friendly and professional. he was able to diagnose my issue and had the part on his truck to complete the repair. he worked efficiently and resolved the issue. he cleaned up the work area and was respectful of my home during his visit. the price for the repair was slightly higher than I expected but I appreciate that plumbing work is never a low amount. My parents had a small maintenance contract with them but it's time to cancel. This is our third awful experience with them trying to take advantage of elderly people. The first instance way trying to get us to buy a new dishwasher. Turns out it was a $100 fix. Next was a recommendation to put in a new toilet for $1200. We only needed to replace the flapper. Yesterday we called about the A/C not working. They said we needed a new compressor, and their recommended one would cost close to $5000. We called a different company this morning before moving forward. All they needed to do was reprogram the thermostat to interact with the heat pump correctly. This company is a scam. I scheduled for someone to come out and fix a floodlight that had come loose and was hanging by the wires. The light was still working, just needed to be screwed back in. The technician even stated that he could probably just screw it back. But then spent the first ten minutes walking around my property looking for other work he could charge me for, while strongly trying to convince me to sign up for their monthly maintenance service. Not at any point did he get a ladder and actually inspect the light before quoting me $350 to fix it. When I told him I wasn't going to pay that much just to screw in a light, he said I still had to pay him $89 for the visit. I do not recommend calling this company for anything. In response to this company's reply to my review. He was shown to the electric panel when he asked to see it but still did not attempt to flip the power to the light in order to inspect it. read more

I initially chose Morris Jenkins because they previously repaired my AC unit and did great work. Based on that experience, I trusted them when I called about a clogged toilet and shower on Sunday. During the visit, the plumber advised that the clog appeared to be in the sewer pipe and said the city would likely be responsible. He told me he would handle communication with the city. He later returned and stated that the city determined it was my line for 500 feet up the road and that I would need to address it. The following day, they sent another technician who flushed the line and ran a camera that was not long enough to provide a proper diagnosis. There was still no resolution. I was then told I would need a brand-new sewer line at a cost of $25,000, along with $7,000 in additional work just to properly diagnose the issue. This involved digging up what I was told was my line. Something did not sit right with me, so I contacted both another plumber for a second opinion and the city directly. The city confirmed the line in question was theirs. They came out, reflushed it, cleared the blockage, and resolved the issue. At this point, I am out $1,500 for work performed on a line that I do not own. I did pay the initial $483 for the toilet ring repair and troubleshooting on day one, and I am not disputing that charge. However, I strongly disagree with the additional $1,500 charge for diagnosing and working on what was ultimately confirmed to be a city-owned line. When I spoke with a supervisor, they were unwilling to offer any resolution regarding the $1,500. Additionally, city records indicate the line was their responsibility, which directly contradicts what I was told. I am extremely disappointed. I feel misled about the communication with the city and was nearly persuaded to spend $25,000 on a sewer line I do not own. Because of this experience and the lack of resolution, I have lost trust and will not use Morris Jenkins again. I am sharing this so others can be aware and do their own due diligence. read more

We have been customers of Morris Jenkins for several years. Yes, they are higher priced, than some of the other companies, yes they recommend other services when you didnt ask. You can always say No. I look at it like, they were through, because I never go underneath my house to see that potential problem, and honestly, you get what you pay for in the long run. Home warranty companies are good and necessary in some cases, but there's the hassle of getting random inexperienced people, never the same contract company, rinky dinky parts, waiting on claims and callbacks if they do a shoddy job and limited to no warranty. That's not worth the hassle to me. The upside to choosing MJ is we never have to worry about our investment, which is our home, when we need something serviced or repaired. Everytime they come out, they try to match you with the same technician as before, if not they have thoroughl notes from the last visit, so that the current tech is up to speed on what was done prior. They also have checks and balances in place to have a 2nd set of eyes on larger repairs and when there is someone new, they are accompanied by someone with experience. I never have trouble booking a time that fits my scheldue. I also have never encountered an employee with an attitude. Everyone has always been professional. They have always given us that chic-fil-a service. I highly recommend. read more

Two times Morris Jenkins was called for service both times quoted over $4k in service to replace a leaking core. My contract ended the night I made the last service call to see what the problem I was having with HVAC. I decided that if I had to spend that much on the problem, I would find another servicer. So, I called Lakeside Heating & Air Conditioning, Denver, NC the original installer of HVAC. The technician informed me that I still have a warranty until 2027 and my maintenance plan went back to Lakeside. Also, the system is working without any repairs needed. I was very impressed with the service I recently received from Morris-Jenkins. I was given a fair quote for the inspection and the next day the service technician was on site. I was also quite impressed with the personalization added to their reminder appointment email. The email contained a recent photo of my tech, which told me safety was important to MJ. I also got a little bio on the tech telling me a little bit about him. So by the time he got here, I felt comfortable and that I already knew him. Nice touch! My technician quickly identified and confirmed the issue I was having. He could have dimed me for more but was fair and honest in his assessment. Had a plumbing issue. The drain system was clogged. They did a complete inspection. They did a clean out and inspected the pipes. It also was determined to have a clog on the city side of the plumbing drain and arranged for them to come out and clear. Everything has been fine since. We've worked with Morris-Jenkins for over 20-years, now. In the early 2000's, our house had an as-built, undersized single furnace A/C unit with all supply and return ducts in the ceiling, that never performed satisfactorily and ultimately failed after ten years. By trade, I'm an engineer and understand the principle of air movement both for function and comfort and didn't want a simple replacement system. We had three companies, including the one that we had used to service the old unit. Of the three, Morris-Jenkins listened accepted the challenge to correct the situation by installing properly designed system with much new ducting. We talked of options for pricing with good / better / best and went with the top-line system combining heating and air conditioning with a heat pump. We signed a service contract that remains in effect today. After 20+ years, many components have been changed, including a burner that was still under warranty! The benefit having the bi-annual maintenance contract is invaluable. Some technicians have been several times through the years and gotten to know our equipment well, while others have never been. Either way, they've always been polite and professional. The technicians have excellent notes about past visits and know the equipment history well, so know what to look for in their thorough check-ups. I've had occasion to recommend their plumbing services, too and had equal satisfaction. I had an experience with another HVAC company that didn't sit well with me. I called Morris-Jenkins, and they visited the same day. All told, I needed a new system. All of my questions were answered in detail until the answers made sense to me. What I appreciate most about MJ is the staff members. They have many years of service with the company and love what they do! Yes, the cost may be more than others but you get what you pay for. The previous servicer may have done more damage to my system than good. They failed to recognize essential flags about my old system that should have been corrected. If a technician doesn't know, he/she can't help you. I am a 98% satisfied customer. The 2% shortage is due to malfunctioning wall units that required a few service calls. read more

Last week they came out to work on their drainage system for the A/C and caused significant water damage to my parents home that isn't even 5 years old. My parents have NEVER had plumbing issues or water issues until after this visit. When asking them how they would remediate the issue they caused, they said they would not pay for the repairs. This should be less than 1 star. My 96 year old mother was on contract with Morris Jenkins for years and her AC went out. Called for service and the guy said he could recharge for 1000.00 replace the coil for 6000.00 neither of which he could say would fix the problem. She had them do the Freon for 1000.00 which didn't last the weekend. They wanted to come back and replace the unit but I had another company come who repaired the unit for 775.00 and it's still working fine. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I scheduled my annual AC service maintenance and the tech(Brock) arrived and while doing the inspection he knows a gas leak from my water heater. He proceed to contact a plumber(Jared) to come out and inspect the issue. Jared confirmed the water leak from the water heater and advised he could repair the leak but it would be only temporary. He suggested that a new water heater would be in my best interest due yo the age of the unit... He shared with me the different plans Morris Jenkins offered and stated financing was available. I asked him to give me sometime to think about it and he said okay do you want me to ho and sit in my truck for a few minutes and come back in shortly (1st clue something was not right). When he returned a stated because I had a young son in the home I needed to repair the.. I looked online a notice some were cheaper at other stores, but he (Jared) assured me no one could offer better service than Morris Jenkins they would fo this and fo that and reinstall the new water correct and take away the old one. I felt like a desperate mother that needed to get the gas leak resolved so I agreed to ho with Morris Jenkins and complete the application for financing of the new water heater. I share my findings with a friend and they became very concerned and stated the price if the water heater was too much.. They suggested that I come my gas carrier(Piedmont Natural) and have them come out to my home and take a look... Long store short Morris Jenkins had tech that are scamming their customers and lying to them by trying to make they pay for services that are not needed only to get a hight end of the year bonus and commission for other serious sold the the customer. I paid for an ac service upon completion and now they are charging me for the service I paid for with my monthly payment account. Total ripoff! I was quoted $4,200 to install a laundry room sink, a job that I had another plumber do for $1,050. The same visit included a sales pitch for a water filtration system which I had no interest in. Ryan presented himself and provided professional services. He explained cost before beginning any work. Even though I had independently purchased (from 3rd Party) the new Disposal with plug wiring and should have been "hard-wired" model to utilize my existing wall switch, Ryan offered multiple options as to how to move forward. Bottom-line, we agreed to hard wire new unit and Ryan made it work with no issues and no extra costs. He was very accommodating to ensure problem resolved today. Install completed, successful functional testing of new unit with no leaks verified all within short time frame. THIS IS THE WAY CUSTOMER SERVICE IS SUPPOSED TO BE PROVIDED!! I wouldn't even give this company one star. I was told I had a clogged main drain and a broken pipe. Morris-Jenkins claimed they jetted the entire system but couldn't clear the clog. The technician also misidentified the clog's location, saying it was in the middle of my yard and quoting $5,500 for a replacement. I got two other plumbing companies to inspect it. Both confirmed there was no evidence of jetting, and one technician was able to remove the clogby hand from a pipe just three feet underground near my driveway. There was a slight break in the pipe. Morris-Jenkins lied about jetting the system and misled me about the location and severity of the issue. I'm disgusted with their dishonest service. Total misinformation and upselling. Lies on top of lies. Avoid them! read more

This is the first Yelp review I've ever written--and likely the last--but I felt compelled to share my experience. I've been a Platinum Member with Morris-Jenkins for the past 8 years, ever since I bought my home. Until recently, I found them great to work with and always appreciated their prompt service. Last Thursday, I changed the batteries in both of my thermostats. The next morning, I noticed the downstairs temperature had climbed to 85 degrees. I wasn't too concerned--this had happened a few times before, and Morris-Jenkins had always resolved it quickly. This time was different. The technician came out and, after checking the system, sat me down to say the battery change was purely coincidental. He told me I needed a switch gear and, due to the age of my system, it would probably be best to replace the entire unit. He also mentioned that my warranty had expired just a few months ago. I was then warned not to turn the system back on or I could risk burning out the compressor. Shortly after, a Morris-Jenkins salesperson came to my home. He quoted me $18,000 for a replacement unit. When I expressed hesitation, he called his manager, who offered to knock a couple of thousand dollars off--but only if I committed to the sale on the spot, before the salesperson left. I declined and said I wanted to get a few comparison quotes first. I ended up getting three other bids, all ranging from $10,000 to $15,000. Then, something unexpected happened: the last company I brought in to give me a quote asked to inspect my existing system--and they told me there was absolutely nothing wrong with it. It has now been brought to my attention that Morris-Jenkins technicians are paid on commission, and it appears they are incentivized to sell unnecessary repairs or replacements. As a single mother--my son's father has passed--there was no way I could afford an $18,000 unit I didn't need. What makes this experience especially disappointing is that I've trusted Morris-Jenkins for nearly a decade. I hope others will read this and do their due diligence before making a costly decision based on high-pressure tactics. read more

Morris Jenkins installed both my Furnace and A/C units. I never have to worry about anything happening with my units because they clean and inspect the units yearly before each season. When the Inspector came out after the installation of each unit he actually said, "this was installed by Morris Jenkins and I KNOW it's right"! They also installed the Smoke Alarm and CO Dectectors! MJ maintains my electrical and plumbing too! Clogged drain, not a problem, stopped up toilet resolved!! Annnnd my Furnace Filter is in the ceiling (a high ceiling, and of course they always change that for me! Recently an outlet wasn't working In my kitchen. Their expert electrician resolved the problem, and restored my kitchen outlet!!! Water heater maintenance too! Did you know you should have your water heater drained every few years! Wow , the plumber gave me an excellent education about the unit. Showed me the turn off valve to the house and in the fuse box. I was amazed! There is something so special about EVERY Rep who stops by. My Pup gives them a royal greeting! It's amazing! She treats each one like they are her long lost family! Morris Jenkins provides honest, prompt services that you can trust!! An epic value for a small cost! I am confident that ALL of the components they installed and maintain will keep my home in working order. They treat you like family!! My true rating would be 10 Stars! I will be a forever customer! I had this company out to replace a valve in my toilet and cap off a gas line to my grill. The toilet flush valve replacement was over 300 and the gas cap as well. Entire charge was over $700.00. $89.00 trip charge. They wouldn't guarantee the toilet repair unless I agreed on a $1800.00 repair to the hot water heater regulator which was giving me no trouble. Although very grateful to have a technician arrive within the hour late in the evening, the "Only Solution" given was to replace my entire pump system when it was communicated that the pump was replaced within the last couple of months. I asked a number of times could you please just assess the wiring and the answer was, "Here at Morris Jenkins, our policy is to replace everything". That total is $4,800. The well repair solution discovered this AM by another company, is the wiring was disconnected and total repair is $150. It feels very wrong to have a company try to take advantage of a situation to profit to a margin of $4,650. Truly not a happy customer! read more

Our Toto toilet was running. The plumber came the same day. Something was under the flapper and once we removed it, it was fixed. Except the guy told me that the entire works needed to be replaced, for $600. Then he wanted to check the water pressure. He found a problem with it (it's new) and that would be another expensive repair. He checked the water heater that serves the kitchen, and what do you know? That, too, needed to be replaced. By this time, we knew that a scam was being launched and said no to all of it. He persisted, very high pressure. As I paid the service fee, he showed me online, new Toto toilets! So, now, we need a new toilet?!? He went to my husband, insisting that we do all this. Then he asked about our HVAC, which is brand new and state of the air. I told him that we had been with Integrity HVAC for decades and loved them. I'm surprised that he didn't start trying to sell us new cars! Within ten minutes of his leaving, we got an email urging us to join their HVAC maintenance plan. What a bunch of scam artists. I posted this on the Next Door newsletter and dozens of people responded with their exact same interactions with them! read more
