Was there a couple days ago. The oil the fries were made in must be filthy because the fries came out dark brown and soggy.

Amazing food and portion size is HUGE! Best chicken fried steak that I've had the opportunity to experience in town.

This is a gem on the north side of 82. I had the chicken tacos dipped in wing sauce (cara the waitress recommended this) and they were excellent! My wife had the chili tacos which were also very good and filling. The nachos were great and the atmosphere was mellow and warming. The bar area seemed exciting however we were seated further away (probably because our kids were with us). Great service and great food, highly recommended to anyone! read more

If you're looking for a fancy steak and uniformed servers, this is not the place. While it's a dive restaurant and bar, it's the best restaurant in Sherman. I love everything about City Limits: the staff, the food, the beer, the ambiance! They have pretty cheap prices, too. This is a nice place to stop for some good food and good atmosphere. The Bacon Cheese burger was very good and I would highly recommend it. The basket of fries were good but I've definitely had better. It is seat yourself and I recommend finding a spot in the back room because he lighting is better and they have TV playing sports. This restaurant has absolutely too much hype from the locals. I've had the privilege to live in multiple cities through out my entire life thus getting to eat so much amazing food. This place is your average local restaurant that only locals think is good because they haven't tried any REAL restaurants. 1/10 I do not recommend to anyone who has a sophisticated palette because you will leave disappointed. On top of the food being next to dirt, the people who eat here are your average small town and small minded people. AKA racists. 20 years have passed since I last stepped foot in the Limits, and nothing has changed. I wonder what they put in the water in Pottsboro, because the local girls are still very attractive and they all grow up to be waitresses at City Limits. Should there ever be a White Plague released, I vote they quarantine the girls from Pottsboro, first. Chips and Queso are good, but never enough. The chips are served hot, and the salsa is adequate. Our table had two different cheese burgers, a basket of home cut fries, two chicken fried steaks and the famous turkey tacos. Nothing was left...the salad was a little disappointing as the lettuce had begun to brown. The turkey tacos were a little dry, but once doused under the salsa, was more than edible. Burgers and chicken fried steak exceeded expectations. Besides Lake Texhoma, there isn't much of a reason to be in the Sherman/Denison area...but if trapped, at least the Limits will feed you well. read more

Came to this place for lunch one day and ordered the avocado burger. After having fried mushrooms and chips and queso as an appetizer, I found it very difficult to finish the burger! It was a little soggy from all the butter that was slathered on the bun before it was put on the grill and it was also hard to bite into because the avocado made the patty very slippery against the bun. Since I am not a graceful eater to begin with, I made a huge mess and eventually gave up eating my burger because I didn't want to embarrass myself in front of my colleagues. The burger itself was good, it was just hard to eat. I REALLY liked their fries, though. I managed to save some for later, but it was hard to pull back. I'd come back here and try something else on the menu since they have a decent variety of lunch items, but I would be prepared for another messy burger! read more

My sister took me here one night after we failed at spying on someone- another story. Happily thanks to this place the night was not a complete bust. The margaritas are quite delicious and the turkey sandwich with fries is really good. The service was nice and pretty sweet. Great place and is a Sherman OLD TIME classic! Food and atmosphere is unique if your there on a good day! Don't go during peak times or you won't even be able to hear the people at your table it gets SO LOUD, service is not at it's best and why do the worst of the worst people seem come in to eat during that time is beyond belief. The main complaint is inconstancy. One time the food is fantastic and the next the chef's are mentally out of their minds and it's show in platting, quality and taste! Long time fan of City Limits. I attended the local college for four years and their food has always been good during that time. The waitresses are always very friendly and stellar at their job! I am a fan of their hickory burger (even thought it's a mess to eat, it's delicious) while my godparents love the fish tacos and salads. The Denny-ritas are delicious as well. They do have TVs so you can watch whatever game is on that day. Also, they tend to turn up the air conditioning (awesome during the summer) so if you get cold easily you might want to bring a jacket. City Limits is your typical hometown restaurant where you have a relaxed atmosphere and good food! read more

My BFF and I came here for lunch yesterday for the first time. Our food was really good. Must be a popular spot because they were busy. Our server lost track that we were sitting outside and I had to go inside to locate her. She came out to our table to apologize.... a sincere apology! Once we got our food she was very tentative to our table and wanted us to know she was very sorry for forgetting us so much so that when we were ready to leave she said lunch was on her. Not happening!!! Just for the fact that she acknowledged she was busy inside was something I admired. Never in my life have I had a sever acknowledge they forgot about me. 20 years ago this was the place to go, the line on saturday night went all the way into the parking lot to get in. But....The last time I ate there (about 3 years ago) I ordered the BLT, the sandwich was very small, it was like they used 1 piece of bacon cut into 3 small pieces on it, a tiny piece of lettuce, and I mean tiny piece of lettuce and a sliver of tomato, the BLT sandwich wasn't even enough to feed a child. The fries that came with it were way overcooked and soggy, I pointed this out to the waitress and she advised me to just eat the middle out of the fries. I didn't even eat the fries. I was very dissapionted and haven't been back since. This meal cost 7.50 plus tip, 20 years ago I would have given 5 stars, but the quality of food now and the waitresses lack of intrest in my complaints leaves me with giving just 2 stars. Worse thing about it is that I talked a friend into going there that night, it wasn't even crowded and we got what I described above. It was like they just gave up. read more

Try the chicken fried steak. Portions are large but not incredibly huge. Gravy and the steak are very good, I would say the breading is above average but could use some work on the seasoning. Beer is cold, only Miller and Shiner Bock on tap, around 10 other beers in the bottle. Prices are very good. If I have one piece of advise for the owners, expand the beer selection. Seriously delicious comfort-pub-style food. It was our very first visit and the first thing you notice is that it is super loud inside on a Friday night. We were promptly seated by a fella with a big smile. Our waitress was equally smiling & diligent. Which amazed us because this place was PACKED!!! My wife Betty and I were in Sherman at noon and looking for something that wasn't a chain. There are not many home cooking places left. Saw City Limits and decided to give it a try. Parking lot was full, so had to park in back. Greeted at the door and seated. All tables occupied except a table for two next to us. Waitress brought our drinks, took our orders, and brought our meals in 15 minutes. They handle crowds well. When the people at the table next to us left the staff had it bussed, wiped and ready before the diners walked out the door. You don't see the staff idling in this place. I had a ham and Swiss sandwich . Had about half a pound of good ham. Real Swiss cheese. My wife had a half sandwich with vegetable soup. Plenty to eat and good food. Menu has plenty of selection. Next time I'll try the Chicken fried steak. Best service we've had in the Sherman Dennison area. We will be back. read more

We got here around 2 on a Sunday afternoon, and it was packed! Someone at the door told us to sit anywhere we wanted, and we waded through the restaurant to an open table. For how crowded it was, service was excellent. Servers were attentive and kept our glasses refilled. We had the fried zucchini, bacon cheeseburger, fries, and the "taco salad" (which was more like nachos than a salad), and everything was delicious. Prices were reasonable. read more
