"City Limits" - Bryce Mauldin You know a place is good when there's a lot of cars in the parking lot, and when you enter, there's a lot of locals sitting in the place. The reviews said this place was very friendly and a great value for food, the reviews were correct. It's not fancy in any means, but who cares when you want a good, solid, square meal and some frosty chilled strong margaritas for $6.75? Grilled Fish Fillets: $16.95 Super flavorful white fish fillets in a herbed butter sauce - flakey and tender. A huge amount of fries and buttered toast on the side, a bonus: grilled lemon. Salad also included. Chicken Fried Steak: $13.95 Chicken fried steak smothered in country gravy, side of fries and buttered toast and a salad. The highlight was the margaritas - SO GOOD. They sure do know how to make them in Texas! Return factor: 100%. I'm still salivating over the buttery fish and the cold, tasty margaritas!

This place gets busy so arrive early. They have lots of seating inside but it gets packed fast! As everyone has said the wait staff are absolutely amazing!! The off menu enchiladas are amazing! Just ask for them. This place is an icon!

This is a busy place, but despite the crowds service is fast and friendly. Their chicken fried steak has great taste, good gravy and nice flavors in the meat. The coating is nice and crispy. The only negative is that they don't have mashed potatoes, only fries and those are kind of greasy . The serving size is plenty big. It comes with a side salad that is just lettuce with a tomato slice The menu has decent options.

I've been a regular at City Limits for around 30 years. I remember it before the FIRST remodel in the 80's. Great food, great atmosphere, good margaritas, better food... If you smoke, sit in the front room. If not, sit in the back. Thanks Denny and Kip. read more

Been here for years. But tonight was really bad. Everyone got their food but me. I ordered a chicken fried chicken. No salad served. The chicken fried chicken came out about 15 minutes after everyone else's order. There were 5 of us. Complained to the owner. I expected a discount on my bill, but nothing. It was my first time here! Walked in and they welcomed us right away! This place is in a small town right off the parkway! It is everyone favorite local place around there! I'm a huge burger fan! I got the bacon cheeseburger! It was really good. The bacon was cooked just right and it went really well with the condiments! My friend got a classic american cheeseburger! He told me he liked it a lot also! We also got some french fries! A size large is enough for the both of us! The only thing that I wish was different is that the fries had more seasoning. It was really plain for me! Overall I would come back for their burgers for sure. read more

I use to live in the Sherman area and City Limits was one of my favorites. Returned 20 years later and the food is still great! We had one of our favorites-Turkey Tacos. Delicious! The chips and hot sauce is still one of my favorites. Can't wait to eat here again, hopefully will not be another 20 years. read more

This was the worst meal I have ever had in Grayson county!!!! They stoped serving the only thing on the menu that's worth ordering, then when I ordered my burger that was on the menu, they messed it up, had to send it back then when I got it back it sucked so bad I could not even eat it!!! Eddy Macs is 100% better and not over priced! Go to eddy macs if you want a good meal!!!ill never step foot in City Limits again! Oh and I asked to speak to the owner, he passed me by 2 times and never would come talk to me.... this place sucks!!!! read more

Again, seriously?? No one has reviewed City Limits?? This is a wonderful local place that is known for its chicken fried steak. My son had invited my SO up to have dinner there. We were all starving by the time that we got there. My SO said he'd seen me eat more that night that he'd ever seen me eat before! The chicken fried steak was great overall as was my baked potato! My salad would have been better if I'd not seen brown in my salad. We also got fried mushrooms and cheese sticks. I know, I know, not on plan by a long shot, but I so enjoyed it! So did my SO and his little ones! Overall, a wonderful dining experience! ;-) read more

Every time I come back to my hometown, I HAVE to have dinner/drinks at City. It is my FAVORITE place for margaritas in this one horse town, and the chicken fried steak is killer. The Chicken Fried Steak, the drinks, the chips & salsa...and outstanding service make it one of THE places to see and be seen in Texomaland...I was there when it opened in 1981( if I'm remembering it correctly) and check in each and every time I'm back in town. Denny and Kip always knew what they were doing and they still do it better than almost anyone! read more

I love this place! You can't come here without seeing someone you know, which means it's a good representation of Sherman. I always order the enchiladas (I don't think they're on the menu) and they're always so good. I always come here to eat with friends because the atmosphere is casual and relaxed. read more

I absolutely love the food here. I dream about their chicken fried steak since I can't find any that's even passable in Seattle! Their burgers & fries are the best too. Burgers and Fries are amazing, burgers are half lb burgers so for most people more than plenty! We had Stephanie as our server and she was beyond amazing! She was on top of all her tables, made great conversation, made our difficult orders seem simple lol and prices on everything were great. Ask for Stephanie she is adorable, personalable and a great server!! read more

This place is my home away from home. I eat here about 2-3 times a week. Everything on the menu is fantastic!! There are many off-the-menu items that are amazing as well. Just ask any of the waitresses and they can tell you some of the off-the-menu items. If you get the queso, which is already delicious, have them add chili to it, and it makes it even better. I love the owners, and all the wait staff, and cooks. Great people, great service, great atmosphere, and best of all, great food!! read more

City limits is a diner drive inn dive they have really good food! Served on paper plates! Their chicken fried steak is so big it's hanging over the side of plate and everything else comes on another plate! You can guarantee cold air cold beer great service and good food! On the days Dallas Cowboys play it's a rocking good time.they have 20 Tv's and your sure to catch the game you want to see! They have a patio area for the over flow and your see anyone from the mayor to former Texas player to Ou players in there it's just one big ole family in there defiantly a family place! And Denny makes sure everyone is fed and drink in hand within a timely manor! read more

We love this place and have for many years. I would originally give it only 4 stars because of the heavy smoking in the front of the restaurant. But happy to say NO SMOKING allowed at all!!! WHOO-HOO HOO! I'm a happy gal now! Love the chicken quesadillas! We hold the onions and add jalapeños! We usually split an order (they are that big!). Margaritas are awesome! So is the Denny-rita in a coffee cup! (Very strong! Be careful!). Queso is a must as is the fried jalapeño sticks! read more

Somebody mentioned the Quesadilla's and enchiladas not on the menu. The key to dillas is getting them with buffalo sauce and the enchiladas with flour tortillas instead of corn..........HUGE difference. Both are delicious. read more

Came here for a celebration lunch and had ate outside. They have Shiner Bock on tap and my party had a few pitchers! All the food was well portioned. The Tasty big burgers were amazing! This was the first time I had fried pickles and they were excellent! The waitress was pretty prompt and courteous. She made sure our party of 4 had our appetizers before our main course and checked up on us frequently. Will come back again! read more

In the US, calling yourself a Nepali restaurant means taking a standard North Indian menu and adding momo and some Chinese dishes. In Nepal, they eat a lot more than momo. Mountainous regions in poor countries often use forms of protein that Americans don't particularly care for. (Fill in the blanks yourself on this one.) Doing that in the U.S. would be commercial suicide. At one time, Mount Everest had goat intestine on the menu. Goat intestine is relatively un-shocking given other items that Nepalis hunt or butcher and eat. The goat intestines did not sell well and had to be removed from the menu. So mostly what you get here is a plain old North Indian restaurant. Fortunately, Mount Everest is a very good plain old North Indian restaurant. * * * The headline story here is spice. A. Lots of it. B. Not your standard Anglo-Indian curry house spice mixes. I ordered my eggplant with a heat of 4. A heat of 5 is their !!NUCLEAR!! option. 4 is their "Commands Respect- Listen to Me Baby" level. Mount Everest's 4 is most other Indians restaurants 38. Steam came out of ears. Steam came out of eyes. I was amazed my metal container was able to hold that dish. I set a Grayson County speed record for most Naan consumed in the shortest amount of time ... As vast amounts of naan were stuffed into my flaming mouth to lower the temperature. * * * I LOVED IT. I WOULD DO THAT AGAIN IN A NEW YORK MINUTE. * * * If molten lava isn't your thing Ordering your food with a heat of 0 or 1 Will give you a nice lovely very mild dish. Mount Everest caters to all tastes. * * * The spicing here is unusual. This particularly shows up in the salty lassis. I couldn't tell you what the flavor combo was. But it was intriguing and wonderful. That is another dish I would order in a New York minute. * * * Speaking of non-New-York topics, Mount Everest does its best to fit into a Texas-Oklahoma aesthetic. There is a pool table. For all I know, Texoma is full of Indian restaurants with pool tables. But that was the first time, I had ever seen such a thing. They have country-western style decoration, and guitars on the walls to help set a mood. They serve cold beer. I am not used to Texas Ice Houses that also serve Tikka Masala and Aloo Chana. But this is a concept I could definitely learn to like. * * * Overall, this is a first rate establishment. And if you want enough inner fire to be able to climb the Himalayas without wearing a parka, Order any dish with a heat of 5. The snow will melt on either side of you as you pass.

My wife and kids came in for lunch. The place was dirty. The table where they sat us was dirty. The waitress uniform was severely soiled with food. They had only been open for 10 minutes. So how did she get so dirty? It looked like she had been wearing that uniform all week long without washing it. We ordered our food. It took 35 minutes before we received our order.
