Everything came out quickly, and our incredible waitress made us feel genuinely taken care of!!! (I wish I would have understood and asked her to repeat her name because she is a true blessing!!!) The food and drinks were just as impressive. We ordered the carne asada along with an enchilada and taco combo plate, plus a piña colada. The carne asada was cooked perfectly and paired with charro beans that were packed with flavor. The chicken enchilada was delicious, and the beef crunchy taco added the perfect texture to the plate. The chips and salsa were some of the best we've ever had super fresh with great flavor!! And while the piña colada had coconut on the rim (not my personal favorite), the drink itself was incredible. We loved the atmosphere, bright lights, fun decor and had super fun photo wall in the entrance we loved! Overall, such a great experience. I was at Mariachis last night and it was the best meal i've had in ages. Even though there weren't many people there, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Although I cannot remember her name, my waitress was a very kind young lady that had hazel/green eyes. She was a bit stressed because she seemed to be the only server when I went. But, despite this, she was incredibly patient and kind to me when I had questions about the menu. If I could give her more than 5 stars I would. We really wanted to like Mariachi's. It was our first time trying them. So, for my birthday, we gave it a shot. Initial thoughts were positive. Our server was wonderful. The salsa was a bit too hot, but I can overlook that. My 1-chicken, 1-beef burrito combo (repeated correctly by the server) turned out to be 2 beef burritos. I also had a cheese enchilada on the side, but the sauce was bland and tasted old. My wife had 2 chicken chimis, and the sauce on them wasn't bad, it just tasted like...nothing. All of the food was overly salty. Having read some of the other comments, I went there expecting to side with the manager, but now I sympathize with those customers. read more

The service is right on with pleasant smiles and obliging attitudes. Then, the food could not be any better. Was another 10 minutes before our waitress came to get our drink order. As usual had bad taste to it bad sherman water and apperatly no water filter. Our waitress Karen was not very attentive for the whole time. Is it asking too much to not let drinks sitting with just melting ice. So for our meal we ordered the fajitas. Which are never the best but usually very tender. Not this time they were very tough and chewy. Portions were good but only brought 6 tortillas for a order for two. Never came back to see if we needed more eventually we did get 1 refill on our drinks. I could have been if they were busy but not so much. Will probably go back to give it another try. But when you spend almost $50.00 before tip you kind of expect better. Decided to check this out for dinner as I had the itch for some Fajitas. Service- Our server was friendly and did well considering there were more patrons than staff around. The food- I got the Mexican Steak Fajitas. I chose this option as this choice was cooked in sauce. I was not in the mood for the normal Fajitas, which would be the typical bell peppers and onions with beef on a hot plate. The sauce was a great choice, as I did not have to worry about the food drying out and burning while sitting on the hot plate. Overall, the dish had flavor. The waitress said the mexican style would be a bit spicier than the normal fajitas, but it was just basically a tomato type sauce smothered all over the meat and veggies. The rice and beans were typical of tex mex places. Nothing special about them. One thing that irked me was that they gave me two tortillas, but no problem at all as my wife was given four tortillas. I took one of hers to make it even I definitely enjoyed the chips and salsa here! I was going to try some appetizers, but the chips and salsa took up space that was for appetizers. They give a nice portion of chips. Also I like how they have staff refilling salsa automatically when it runs low. The appetizers have to wait until next time. Overall the food was nothing too special, but was decent enough for me. For the price I paid, I felt it was a fair price considering portion size and what was ordered. We reserved the private room which was more than large enough to handle our group. We were able to visit and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. His staff-especially Elias (rock star server!)-handled everything efficiently and professionally At first I was worried when I saw Elias was the only server, particularly since we were ordering from the menu. I love the Chili Rellenos. I get the one stuffed with chicken breast, battered and fried, with red sauce. It has always been so delicious I won't try anything else, yet! You can order it stuffed with cheese if you prefer. Upon arrival, you are greeted and asked if you prefer a table or booth. Promptly seated and handed a menu. The chips and salsa arrive quickly. The chips are fresh and served hot. The waitstaff immediately takes the drink order and gives you time to look over the menu. Once the orders are placed, the food comes out piping hot. They always remind you, the plates are HOT and not to touch them. I still just gotta touch em, to see ;) The waitstaff is attentive and professional. On our way home to Tulsa Oklahoma once again we could not resist stopping in Sherman,Tx for some Mariachi's today!! Once you taste it you'll be amazed and back quite often for more!! The food is seriously that good. This time our youngest son was with us and after taking a few bites of his Nachos he looked across the table at me with a big grin on his face. He was definitely happy and satisfied when he was done! The waitress was very nice and helped me locate the burrito, that I'd had during our last visit, on the menu. My husband ordered the same plate as mine yet he chose carnitas as his meat...$2 extra but well worth it. We still loved the relaxed atmosphere and decorative restaurant that we first visited six months ago. And our food was just as delicious as the first time coming too!! I love Mexican and TexMex cuisine and I can say that the food here is a cut above the average. Probably the best Mexican in Sherman (not counting Denison). But twice in a row I've had a disappointing experience with getting take-out. Basically, there is no one manning the host podium and you can stand there a long time before anyone even knows you are there. There is potential to the meals here. I really like the chips. They are light and super crispy. The salsa is some of the spiciest I've had served in any restaurant. The food arrived as expected and service was decent. One issue they have is that they sort of make everything like it's listed on menu. We asked for their burger to be made as a regular burger without anything spicy on it. It still arrived with pico with jalapeño bits. But the main issue is that every Mexican plate was way too salty. We had 5 of them at our table and every meal was the saltiest I've had at any restaurant this month. Most of ours were ground beef so maybe chicken is better. Wow! This place is a town secret! We went on saturday night and they were having a private party in the back but the rest of the restaurant was almost empty!! We were seated immediately and served warm chips and salsa (we tend to judge places by their chips and salsa) Amazing!! There is something special going on with these chips, they are light and airy with a great texture and really crisp and crunchy!! The salsa is superb, not too much cilantro (I hate cilantro but tolerate it in decent/good salsa) Great flavor with a medium heat. I ordered a sangria swirl margarita and I am no light weight by any means but these were strong!!! I only had 1 and was slightly buzzing!! Next time I'm ordering a Dos-A-Rita!! My husband had the enchilada trio which was good 2 chicken 1 beef with different sauces, I ordered the chile relleno en aogada with beef, I must have gotten a spicy chile but it was good not too spicy (I am a wimp when it comes to spice!) My 2 colleagues and I are here after a long business day and a local's recommendation. This was a decent Mexican restaurant in a sea of TexMex. A $5.95 house margarita cued the unwinding, but it wasn't strong enough for this NOLA girl. The salsa was basic, but fresh, with super yummy chips. If you have a problem regulating your chips and salsa consumption, this may be a tough spot. They refill both in mass! We skipped appetizers which was a great idea (see previous statement). The main course of Mariachi's Fajitas was in huge portions. The steak was 5 star, but the chicken and shrimp were way too dry.
