The very first time I feel as an Asian American customer being ignored and denial at the liquor stores. First of all, I am 23 years old and legal to buy alcohol at any beverage stores. So they once didn't accept my buddy which they refer is my brother who come here regular customer buy liquors here since 2007. He is over 21 years of age and is legal to buy alcohol. These people are being very racist toward Asian people and want to look down on them. They think that the Asian people are uneducated and treat us differently. They ignored us when we come to the liquor store and didn't even bother to come and to talk or offer help. So second of all, I came back the second time to show my ID that I wasn't a baby and have a proof of my driver license that I'm not a minors. The person that sell the liquors is underage and he cannot sell alcohol until he's 21. So they are doing illegal work at the store and should be punish. As a Asian American people I feel denial for the very first time. All I want is a apology from them for being racist towards Asian customers and say sorry because this is American! We all have equal rights!!! So called the manger also posted on their Facebook story to mocked me. So the owner blocked me on all their social media platform when I revealed the truth. Hey, if you guys are racist just said that. I came back to your store with my ID and buy the alcohol it seem like you guys were very quiet. And also, the lady at the table tasty didn't even offer me to taste their drink lmao is it because I am Asian? Wow! Asian hate crime is real at the finest and you guys played yourself well. While visiting family in Utica we were in the hunt for some brews and decided to stop in at City Liquors. When we walked into the store we were excited to see their incredible selection of wine and alcohol. The one thing that was missing was the beer. Coming from Massachusetts we were accustomed to being able to go to one store to buy beer, wine and hard alcohol. This is obviously not a possibility in Utica. The other issue with this store was the fact that their employees were not pleasant. When we were checking out they were cold and not personable. I know working at a liquor store must be tough, but come on, a hello and thank you would be nice. Overall, for what they had they had a great selection, but the customer service is lacking. We hope the next time we come back the experience will be better. read more

Liquors are one of my favorites in the Utica area. The have a large selection; that will not leave you feeling disappointed. Two words "They Deliver!" Yes, these guys will deliver your wine and spirits right to your door for a small delivery fee. I cannot remember how much, but it is low. I bought two very expensive bottles of bourbon that came to over $400. When I tried to use the coupon, the clerk said that I couldn't use it because bourbon was in high demand. The owner told the clerks not to discount the higher priced bottles including Dewar's Blue Label scotch as well as the bottles I was buying. The coupon clearly stated that it was not allowed on sale items, clearance items or already discounted items. I pointed that out to him and he said that it was originally $219.99 a bottle. My thought is if it's in high demand, why did they lower the price? I really don't believe that it was already discounted. This is poor business practice. I'm wondering if I spent $400. on 30 bottles of Barton's vodka if I would have gotten the discount. The only reason I give 2 stars is because the clerk that cashed me out was very nice unlike the clerk I spoke to on the phone. I won't be returning. read more

My husband and I absolutely LOVE City Liquors. The wine selection is great and reasonably priced. Also, the staff is AWESOME! They are personable and really make you feel welcome (without being creepy or pushy). 5 Stars for City Liquors! read more
