Just had a really disappointing experience here. My family and I have always loved getting brunch here. Food has always been great and staff friendly. Unfortunately, we did not have the same experience for the dinner service. We chose villa verona for my girlfriend and her best friends birthday. We watched several tables come and go before we ever got our food. We waited 2 hours just for half of our table to be served, and we got a raw burger. Like not undercooked, it was ice cold. We kindly sent it back and asked for a new burger. The manager proceeded to come back to us and argue that it was not raw and that we would be paying for it AND the new burger. Keep in mind, half the table still never got their food. We closed out and left hungry. Wont be back and i would strongly advise nobody else does either after that showing of customer service. If i could leave 0 stars, I would. What a shame read more

very surprised at the selection and found a new favorite, "Fifty Shades". was a very laid back tasting deck for great food delivered from next door. We were only going to make a quick stop but ended up staying a couple of hours. If you are on the I-90 truway is worth jumping off a Turning Stone and another mile down the road. read more

Tried this restaurant for the first time after a few previous attempts. My anticipation was way more than the flavors they delivered. Tried the baked Brie, which was not warmed all the way thru, and was just very basic. I ordered the southern chicken (I think that was the name) extremely bland flavor, the gravy was tasteless, and the breading just fell off the chicken strips. My wife ordered the roasted chicken, and it came out raw in the middle, and again very bland flavors. I usually give places a couple of tries, as their pizza looked good, but unfortunately I will not be returning. read more

During COVID they are offering a limited menu; the restaurant has not updated their online menu stating everything NOT available, so a nice dinner out turned into a "Bistro of Bar-food" there really wasn't anything appetizing on the menu for a sit down dinner. Very deceiving!! We contemplated leaving and should of left when we had the chance. However we are at a winery so getting plenty of wine helped!!! Appetizer took One Hour to arrive and our pizza entree over an hour with a reservation, NO bread or table offerings came out, it was just too long of a wait!! The kitchen seemed busy with next door winery food orders but restaurant was empty. The handheld menu offerings seemed they could have been a better option for dinner based on look and speed. We have done wine tastings, listened to live music indoor during the winter and outdoors during the summer and also had some great food at Villa Verona Vineyard. In my 54 years of life, I've never walked out of a restaurant, until today. There was only one waitress on duty covering two buildings 100 yard away. That woman should get the congressional Metal of Honor for bravery, then, she should quit! My wife and I walked in at 1:55pm and ordered a steak and a shrimp and noodle dish. By 3pm nothing but a steak knife arrived. My wife asked for a glass of wine. That came immediately at 2:15pm. I felt bad for the server. We left a $20 bill under the empty wine glass for the waitress' troubles. We walked over to at least buy a bottle of wine. When we left, we noticed the other approximately 20 other patrons were still not served. When we walked over to the winery, we were flabbergasted to fine the patrons at the wine bar well feed and drunk. The owner was chastising the one and only waitress to make their food a priority. This looks like a place where if you know the owner you get served. If you don't, you're out of luck buddy. Stay away from this place unless you know her personally. Hey waitress lady. What a wonderful place! Reviews are confusing as there is a tasting room for their wines, that serves a few items from the bistro, which is a separate eatery, the Bistro. That being said, we went on February 13, so the menu was limited and specific to the holiday. The one star missing from this review is because at 6:30 pm they were out of the Prime Rib, although they substituted NY strip steak, it was a disappointment and surprisingly early in the night for a main entree of such popularity on Saturday as well as this holiday. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Main entrees, steak and blackened salmon, were cooked perfectly, although the vegetables, potatoes, and rice, could have been hotter. Social distancing, masks, and sanitizing, were definitely in place. Nice ambiance and prices reasonable. We will definitely go back on a regular day to discover the standard offerings! For our anniversary May 5, celebration we decided to return to Villa Verona Vineyard & Bistro for dinner and what a dinner it was! So if you want a break from TS Casino this is another choice. We were greeted by Julie and brought to our table, Rene our waitress took our drink order. We ordered appetizers - Caramelized Brussels and Poutine - very yummy, (pomme frites with cheese curd, Brisket, low roasted tri-tip beef, smothered in gravy) sorry about the picture we dug in right away as they are that good. PS Best Frites plain or covered in the area. Mary Jo the owner, was stopping in at tables to check where people were from and to welcome us to the restaurant/thank us for coming in, which is always a great touch. Mary also stopped back to check how we were enjoying our meal & dessert. After seeing their Fish & Chips (Frites) leaving the kitchen area time after time, we decided to both have the F&C for our dinner. Large Haddock for $13.00 each!!!! The taste was very good and I am not a tarter sauce person but their sauce had a unique flavor that I enjoyed. Not your typical tarter sauce. Would return just to have their Poutine and Haddock Fish! The chocolate dessert was large even at $13.00 - little expensive but it was large enough to share. Bill without tip $85.00 w/bottle of wine. Leftovers for Dinner the next evening. Great waitress and beautiful space. Poor food. Potatoes and vegetables were bland. My boyfriend got the salmon. That Yates great but was so small it was gone in 3 moderate bites. I got the roast chicken which was certainly not. The leg and tight was cooked differently than the breast. And right down the street from Turning Stone is just the cutest winery: Villa Verona Vineyard. Here's some fun facts about this newly opened spot: - They have indeed just opened... just over a week ago. - They offer tastings of eight wines (4 whites & 4 reds). - One of the reds is already so popular they sold out of all the bottles in their first week of being open. - They're open daily until 7pm. - Parking is tight... there's enough spots for about 10 cars. - Inside is adorable - great tasting counter with room for at least 10 wine-o's. - For $3 you can try 5 wines of your choice. - The staff is SO nice. The gal who served us not only explained each wine she poured, but a little bit about the region in the Finger Lakes the grapes come from, the wine they're barreling in Verona and their plans for next year. - The winery right now is just a tasting room. But in 2015 they're breaking ground on a 'bistro' as well as patio and firepit. Wine + food + a firepit? Sold! We were told they're hoping to have everything complete by the fall of next year. - Back inside they've got delicious wines ranging from dry to sweet, and starting at $9.99 for a bottle. - They've also got several high-top tables set up, snacks for purchase and a cooler of wines so you can taste and then purchase a chilled bottle to enjoy right there. Great first visit to Villa Verona... and with the positive changes they've got coming I can't wait to visit again! So disappointed the minute I walked in. I was scolded that that I didn't tell tell them we couldn't walk up a flight of stairs. Next time I should tell them I had a 91 year parent with me and needed to be on first floor. ( Like I should know that they had stairs and no elevator.) Waitress had no patience for an elderly costumer who was hard of hearing. Waitress was so off put to suggest any entree. I had to go get my own water after 20 minutes of no waitstaff visiting our alcove. Amazingly after that the staff was slightly more attentive . Still waited 20 minutes to get a pen to sigh check and that was only because a host staff was walking by. As We were walking out the owner said "Thanks for coming " without even looking up from computer. Food was good though but I truly felt that management staff and wait staff wanted us in and out and didn't care at all. read more

Down a ways from the Turning Stone Casino & Resort. We stopped in to test out the wine and stayed for dinner. Staff was very helpful at explaining the menu. Not a giant restaurant and newly built. Poles out back for some future planting. Maybe we can play volleyball over the vines. Menu is manageable and you'll want to examine it closely to see what you're getting. While you're thinking "Hummus, yeah that's in a little plastic dip tub," Villa Verona is thinking much bigger. The hummus was pretty big. Selection of burgers, salmon, steak, haddock. They have Utica Greens, so food purists will have something to complain about. I've never seen Utica Greens made the same way at two restaurants, Villa Verona has it's own version. The kitchen is wide open so you can watch, in amazement, the two, yes only two when we were there, members of the kitchen staff knocking out the food. There were at least two tables of 8 each, along with everyone else, and these guys kept up the pace. I'm not big on "presentation," but there was no way not to notice that the chef here is and presentation didn't suffer one bit during the dinner rush. Maybe my burger didn't need to be served on a fraternity paddle, but the artistry was undeniable, even for someone used to the "presentation" of a burger in a cardboard clamshell. This is just a review of Sunday "brunch." Inside was nicely decorated with cloth napkins so at first I felt underdressed. Then we got bar mixer orange juice and I knew we were in for a bland treat. Chicken and waffles were two small previously frozen waffles and a thin chicken cutlet whose breading lacked any seasoning. The breakfast pizza was half burnt and on a frozen pizza dough disc. An attempt at a pesto sauce with scrambled eggs, cheese, and bacon was so bland we didn't need a box to take home leftovers. And lastly the French toast was a nothing special French toast you can get at any greasy spoon diner for half the price. Can't speak for anything but brunch but for that I say just stay away. read more

I was throughly disappointed in our experience here. We were a party of five and arrived around 6pm. We started off the dinner with a flight of wines along with each ordering a larger glass of wine. I ordered a glass of moscato, which tasted as if the bottle had been opened for several hours. There wasn't even the slightest remnant of fizz. Another member of our party had the Chardonnay which was awful and prompted her to ask for a Pinot Grigio to replace it. When the replacement arrived, it was served in a warm wine glass, which must have been taken from the dish dryer. Prior to ordering food, we were informed that they were out of duck, which immediately eliminated a 1/4 of the menu offerings. We then went ahead and ordered a couple of appetizers, hummus & pita and pork belly. Both of which were okay. After our appetizers arrived, we placed our orders of strip steaks and Coquille St Jacques. The order took almost 45-60 minutes to arrive at our table, even though most of the tables were empty in the establishment. The entrees were good, but not at the caliber to warrant the price. The service overall was sub-par and I was confused which type of customer they were targeting. The pricing said one thing, but the staff attire and lack of wine knowledge said another. read more

Hahahahahahahahahahaha - I have to start out laughing, otherwise I'd just be appalled by the horrendous service. To be clear, this is a review about an event that was held there, and not on general dinner/bar service. It started when I arrived early to decorate; usually you expect decor at a baby shower, right? The women who greeted my friend and me didn't so much as greet us as criticize the decorations we were about to use, which included a long garland runner for the tables ("You're going to bring THAT in HERE?" Uh, yeah.) We were neat and tidy, and although the greenery shed a bit, there was a broom handy which we used to clean up after ourselves. Stink eye throughout. People started to arrive and, as you can imagine, there are pregnant people at a baby shower! Lots of water was consumed, and the bartender gave us attitude when we asked to take some pitchers back to the table. Are they nailed to the bar?! The icing on the cake was when we were told that we had to be out and cleaned up before 2:00 because a band was coming in to set up and start playing. I guess it didn't matter that my friend's mom had signed a contract that said we could be there until 3:00! And sure enough, at quarter of 2:00 people carrying stands and instruments trouped in and stood awkwardly in the corner waiting for us to leave, as presents were still being opened. Such an unfortunate, regrettable, unprofessional experience. Food was forgettable. The best thing was a winter squash soup with pepitas. I can only use the term "selection" to describe the wine list in the loosest sense. There were essentially four options: sweet red, sweeter red, gag me sweetest red, and sweet white. A little gem of a fine dining spot along I-90. We stopped in for dinner and had the strip steak with mashed potatoes, spinach and sautéed mushrooms; the beef short ribs with kimchi-stuffed ravioli; and the bucatini with romesco sauce. Everything was super-delicious! The kimchi balanced the richness of the short ribs, the mushrooms were out of this world and the romesco was the perfect dinner for our vegan daughter. All the food is locally sourced including the excellent coffee (from Nicaragua via a local roaster). Service was excellent. Wish I lived closer to this place! Professional Bullshitters.Had reservations for New Year's.. Gave our reservations away. Finally sat our party of 6...got served water and then waited close to an hour before anyone came to our table. Took 4 hours for a small salad, cup of soup and 2 beef short ribs. Everyone in the restaurant was treated the same way...Looking around just shrugging their shoulders wondering wtf was going on. Six of us at our table...gave the table a piece of bread the size of a hotdog buns...no butter, no dipping oil...to top it off got two drinks the whole time...we asked several servers for drinks. They took the orders and never came back. All the while a group of the owners friends sat at the bar eating snacks drinking and becoming obnoxious. Never again. Farm to table is the biggest bullshit way to say overpriced hamburgers. I'm still pissed that wasted my time and money in that place. read more

Absolute disaster. (We were warned by the tasting room employee that service might be slow- should have listened.) Arrived at 5:25 for a 5:30 reservation and were shown directly to a table. We ordered 2 glasses of wine, I was told they were out of Riesling so I was given a half glass "on the house". No problem. We ordered baked brie and about 5 minutes later ordered entrees. The server then said she found some Riesling so she brought me a full glass - great! A few minutes after that, the server came back to say they were out of one of the entrees so we ordered something else...annnnd then they found one more. My husband decided to order it. Who knew we would never get it. At 6:15 (45 minutes later) we still didn't have our brie. Our server, while very nice and apologetic, was very inattentive(overwhelmed). (Side note: I don't name people on Yelp, but couldn't of if I wanted to because she didn't give her name.) We tried to flag her down twice but she seemed so in the weeds that she couldn't even hear us (seemed a common issue amongst all servers, we watched the water "kid" getting snapped at several times by most stressed servers). At 6:25 we asked for our check. Our brie was up at the pass ironically. We said no thank you, paid our bill and left. Embarrassing show by what could be a really good thing. Absolutely embarrassing. So, here we sit eating some soft pretzels at the casino event center for "dinner". If you plan to have dinner at the bistro, give yourself at least 3 hours. The owner of the winery would be wise to not-renew the lease of the bistro "chef" and find someone who knows what they're actually doing. read more

Wonderful friendly staff, fun selection of drinks and food, and above all, the food was AMAZING. seriously, I did not expect it to be just this good. I have been to 39 states, I'm from California, and never in my life have I had a better pizza. I plan on going back whenever I'm in the area just for some of that delicious pizza. Visited Villa Verona on Saturday night for dinner, at least we intended it to be dinner. They had a band by the tasting room so the bistro was pretty empty. We ordered the charcuterie platter as a starter and ended up getting all appetizers for dinner as the choices looked so good. The 2-person platter a little pricey at $21 but it was huge, it would have been plenty for 4 to share. For other other items we choose the Brussels sprounts, duck wontons and poutine. All 3 were very good and we ended up with too much food. The servings of botht the sprouts and the poutine were huge! We each tried a wine (oaked Chardonnay and dry Riesling). Both were quite good as was a sample of bourbon barreled Chardonnay the waitress brought us to try. The only off thing about the evening is our waitress disappeared at the end of our meal without a word. I have been to the winery and love the wines. So I tried the Bistro tonight with the take and go meals due to COVID-19, and the food is amazing! We got the rib and fish meals tonight and the ribs are moist and meaty, the fish nice and flakey. The sides with both were awesome. It's a lot of food for the price. They have made a return customer of me. If you buy a bottle of wine you get a free tasting when the ban is lifted. read more

And we were the only ones there when we had gotten there. The wine was okay. Paid $3 for a choice of 5 wines. There was a group of four of us girls, We did a tasting. What I expected was, that they would explain their vineyard and their process and how they came about seeing as its a newer winery. We got none of that. The girl basically stated what was on the paper as the description for the wine as she gave us each taste. Kind of boring and not what we expected. She didn't have a very friendly attitude. And each had a burger. App was prepared perfectly (not like some undercooked fatty pieces I've had at other places) great sauces accompanied it. We each had a burger. Both were cooked perfectly and tasted great! Fries looked burnt but were not. And tasted fine. I would recommend a potato w less sugars to avoid the overcooked appearance (possibly a Russet/Burbank).
