The ARTS, ENTERTAINMENT, & FOOD are great in Temecula! If you love community theater, art, and history, Temecula has lots in Old Town! If you're craving entertainment, the Temecula Promenade and Pechanga Casino has plenty of shops and activities for you! If you're a fan of food, there's Thai, Mexican, Indian, and so much more in Temecula! Are you a fan of wine? There's TONS of wineries with sweeping views. I enjoy the cool little pumpkin patches in the Fall. There's a lot of pros in pockets of the city, however, I do not relate to many of the folks here and I'm not a fan of the cons. Unfortunately, like Murrieta, there's still much work to do on a cultural level. I find loads of entitled folks and people trying to ban books in our local Temecula school districts. Yes, you heard that right, who the heck bans books? Unstable people, that's who. It's also apparent that locals have a salty attitude towards visitors unless they fit a certain box. I stick to the fun zones of the city (Old Town, Promenade, some wineries) and avoid some of the more bumpkin spots. I have the same issue with Temecula, that I do with Murrieta (although not as bad) and that's due to the fact there's way TOO many houses as far as the eye can see. This problem is especially apparent towards French Valley and South Temecula. All the houses look the same and I feel very claustrophobic in some neighborhoods. read more

I've lived in LA around the Pasadena and SGV area, then I moved to Poway for a couple of years and finally settled down in Temecula... In Temecula, you can find beautiful wineries, hot air balloon rides, one of the largest Casino in California aka PECHANGA and excellent school ratings such as GREAT OAK HIGH SCHOOL... The neighborhoods are quiet and safe! I've left my garage door open all night and everything was there the next day. I've also forgot to GRAB my AMAZON packages for about 3 days and it was still in front of the door!! There's also a nice Farmers market in old town Temecula. There's a lot of nice neighborhoods such as Redhawk, Morgan Hill, Harveston, etc. Most neighborhoods also have low HOA or no HOA such as Vail Ranch... Right now the vineyards are all dried up cause of the weather but during the proper season there are rows of grapes waiting to be turned into wine. A lot of family owned wineries less than a mile from one another, some have more than just wine tasting; restaurants and wedding venues attached. I came out here for a wedding at Ponte winery. I also went and did a wine tasting at Lorenzi Estate. Tried some new food as well as some comfort food restaurants we have back in sfv. Today I received a CERTIFIED LETTER from the City of Temecula from TOM COLE It states the property behind my house on Southern Cross RD., which belongs to the water utility, states I need to do WEED ABATEMENT! IT IS NOT MY PROPERTY! I do not own any water utility property. I have a FENCE that separates my property from the water utilities property, which is behind my house and is FENCED IN. Why would I do their landscaping? WHAT A SCAM! If I owned this land why wouldn't I enclose it with my FENCE? I think I know what happened. Five years ago we were treated to the glorious experience of a hot air balloon ride. When making reservations you need to reveal your weight for the flight load. Included in the flight were refreshments. We really didn't go too high up as we could see a Jack rabbit running down below. Looking out at all the other balloons up in the air was thrilling. No one tells you that the heat above your head that inflates the balloon is quite hot throughout the flight. Another tip: you need to be tall enough or fit enough to climb out of the balloon once it touches the ground or you may suffer the embarrassment of crawling out on your hands and knees. I love this city. There is a reason it has come up high in the rankings on one of the best places to live. It usually makes a top 50 list somewhere. Where is it? It's a nice getaway if you are from Los Angeles or San Diego. Located in SW Riverside County. Why do I love it? It is home to Southern California Wine Country. Throw in a wine and ballon festival. If you follow the Lakers, a couple of their biggest sponsorships come from Temecula. And every band coming back is at a casino for your entertainment. What is here? College campuses are setting up satellite sites. A slight decrease in commuting. Old Town is one of my favorite places to play and work. There is a makers Old Town Market Night. The bar and restaurant and shopping scene is getting better all the time. Press On. Who can you find? The mayor for one. He hosts "breakfast with the Mayor". He has spoke at Tedx Salons. It's pleasant to feel part of a community here. This city is filled with entrepreneurs, women owned businesses and more. When should you visit? There is a visitor center in town and a regular calendar of events. Parades are big for the 4th of July and the holiday seasons. Some would say all months but summer due to the heat. However, it just gives locals more space. Soon, the city will have a boutique and a luxury hotel. More places to choose from to stay, in addition to AirBnb's. Free parking around town is a nice bonus. The City of Temecula and it's neighboring cities continue to be one of the fastest growing areas in the California. The City of Temecula should be fined by the State of California and US DOT for not adequately planning for the traffic they have created. By continuing to build residential developments with no end in sight, the number of residents that use the 2 exits on Interstate 15 for Temecula keeps increasing, but the infrastructure cannot keep up. For this reason, all through traffic on I-15 must crawl around the Temecula exits. Essentially, everyone is punished for Temecula's explosive growth and poor city planning. I'll give you a hint: get rid of the stoplights at the off-ramps. Also, I'm not sure anyone has noticed, but the monument sign that welcomes you to Temecula is after you pass Temecula on I-15 southbound. Which genius thought of that!? read more

I am writing to give a review for Hector and Jose.These two men took over cutting my front lawn and cutting and trimming my bushes as a spur of the moment project. I was recommended by someone to give these gentleman a shot at a estimate. Their pricing is so far, and when you see their result as far as the landscaping, you wonder how you did without them. My yard looks gorgeous and I don't even recognize it. It was getting so overgrown and the previous gentleman was not doing maintenance anymore.Hector worked with me to come up with plans on how to pursue my hopes and dreams along with his Dad. We love Temecula!!! Hell, I'd move there but would probably be dead and / or broke within two weeks. Why, one might ask? It's only Temecula... Well, two there are too many, (he says tongue in cheek), casinos nearby, which would severely cut into my retirement and IRA. Throw in the fact that I love my alcohol, and the ease with which I can get a beer or a cocktail AND play my favorite table game / slot would only facilitate liver disease on a boozer like me. So, like I said, I'd be broke and / or dead in a relatively short time frame. But... that's on me, not on the city of Temecula. What I love about it is it's a "newer" city, the infrastructure is still in the infantile stages and you don't see the potholes and dilapidated buildings. We go camping up there quite a bit, (Vail Lake Resort), we love the wineries, (they are gorgeous), and a visit to Temecula almost always comes with an obligatory trip to "Old Town". But being a Cancer / water baby astrologically, I need to be near the water, and the 9259_ whatever zip code(s) are just too far from the Pacific Ocean for my taste. In the meantime, I'll just continue to visit with the wifey every other week or so and keep my IRA alive for a little while... read more

The City of Temecula is considered to be one of the mostly well-sought out place to visit in SoCal. People make their way to the city to appreciate some of the amenities of the valley. Temecula is best known for but not limited to the ff: - Wine Country - Old Town - Balloon & Wine Festival - International Film Festival - Golf Courses - Casinos: Pechanga & Pala (15 minutes away from Temecula) Plenty of things to do with the family. This place is clean and it gives you the feel of the suburban way of life. The school systems in this area are rated exceptionally well. On the other hand, the city is positioned farther from major cities such as Los Angeles or San Diego where most of the high paying jobs are concentrated. I'm going to get straight to the point if you love shopping, great restaurants and wineries this is a great city for you. There are so many stores and boutiques in Temecula it's crazy from Coach to Ritzy Ragz. Temecula has a Macys, Forever 21, Lane Bryant, Coach and so on. Not to mention all the shopping in Old Town Temecula. Now on to the restaurants, there are so many restaurants in Temecula I'm sure you'll find something you'll like. Some of my favorites are Sorrel which is Mediterranean and across from the mall. My favorite dish there is the shrimp with field greens that is what I get all the time. Also a favorite is the Havana kitchen in Old Town Temecula which has a great cuban sandwich and tasty plantains. My last restaurant is Mr. Kabob which is another Mediterranean restaurant which is really tasty even though it is a mom and pop. Mr. Kabob is my go to because I feel it's authentic, affordable and damn good. For all the wine drinkers you must go to the wineries for the day for a whole bunch of tastings. Or you could just stay the night because some wineries have resorts too. My favorite is South Coast Winery because I like the restaurant and it's probably the biggest winery in Temecula. There are also some wine bars in Old Town Temecula that I heard are pretty good. I haven't even mentioned Pechanga which is another one of my favorite places to go. So for me Temecula is definitely a place to visit at some point. read more

I really love coming to Temecula and I am in the city several times a month. This city is like a second home to me. I know my way around through all the back roads, hell...I've even been on the unpaved roads. This city is a nice getaway if you live in Los Angeles, Orange or San Diego Counties. There is a lot that you can do in the area, but Erik P. is right, there's not much of a night life, unless you go to Pechanga, which has a couple clubs. There are wineries and vinyards that you can visit, both on the popular Rancho California Road or on the much quieter De Portola. Some of the wineries have wine clubs that you can join, but they all differ in prices and some of the shipments are larger or smaller than others. Some of the wineries also have inns and restaurants and they also sell picnics, so that you can sit out on the property and enjoy. For those of you who like to hop from winery to winery and not catch a case, you can go on the Jeep tours or Grape Vine Tours, where they drive you around so you can get as drunk and obnoxious as you want and they drive you back home or to the hotel. There are all kinds of restaurants that you can eat at, from steakhouses and seafood restaurants to Chinese, Japanese, and any other kind of Asian-fusion. Fast food? Take your pick... Coffeehouses? Take your pick... Specialty restaurants? Take your pick... There are plenty of places to eat. In the mood for shopping and entertainment? You have The Promenade Temecula that has over 170 shops and restaurants, like Macy's, JC Penny's, Apple, H&M, Pottery Barn, Victoria's Secret, Sephora, Abercrombie, MAC, etc. They also have restaurants like Lazy Dog Cafe, PF Changs, Lucille's, Yardhouse, etc. There's also Old Towne Temecula that also has a different and eclectic mix of shops and restaurants. Ahh Temecula. Their city slogan is "The place where San Diegans move to because San Diego is completely unaffordable". I know their motto very well because three separate times over the years I've looked at buying a home up here. I too was lured in by Temecula's miles and miles of cheap large houses. Three times I avoided a mistake of a lifetime. It's a great place to visit, but you should really turn around and go back home. Food Temecula offers a wide range of restaurants and food options, many of which are not available in San Diego. Best Bets - Pamir Kebob House ( in my top 1% of all my reviews) Five Stars - Burgers & Beer - The Yellow Basket - Rockafellas - Lucille's Smokehouse bbq - Tourist attractions Old Town. A touristy street with bars, restaurants, shops, and a hell of lot of bikers. Wine Country. A touristy countryside with wineries, restaurants, shops, and a hell of a lot limo-tours. - The Traffic Over development and lack of road infistructure are the prime culprits for the nightmare traffic. I really enjoy visiting Temecula, theres so much to see and do there! On this visit my daughter and I were driving back from a few days spent in San Diego, and we wanted to go thru the Old Town which I learned is the original 395 hwy. I've been to winereis and various shopping centers in Temecula, but this was my first time gong to Old Town. I liked the old saloon style of the streets, signs, storefronts, and just the whole vibe of the area. It was a bit touristy but also had a locals feel to it. We saw lots of restautants, bars, gif shops, etc. We didn't go into many stores, really we just spent some time in the candy shop. My daughter wanted to buy some old fashioned candy. The owner of that store was very nice. The selection was a bit slim as far as candy shops go, though. We also got to see City Hall, which was pretty cool to drive around. Overall, we enjoyed our stop in Old Town Temecula and would go back when we are in the area. read more

I lived in Temecula 30 years ago when the 15 freeway wasn't to busy, now the 5 mile stretch of freeway to get from the 215 freeway and the San Diego county line takes more then 30 minutes to get thru every day of the week, every stinking day. That stretch of freeway is the 3rd busiest 5 miles on any freeway in the country. The main reason is the on ramps and off ramps are designed to screw the rest of us not wanting to get on or off, for that reason I would never ever live in Temecula, I already have high blood pressure. read more

We moved to Temecula18 years ago. A friend lived here, while we resided on the coast all of our lives. Albeit we loved growing up on the coast the overpopulation of transplants transformed our home town into a quasi-cesspool of dysfunctional peoples. After visiting our friend in Temecula, when the population was about 60K, we thought this would be a great place to finish raising our youngest and retire in. Murrieta and soon to be Menifee were just towns with populations much smaller than Temecula. We took the plunge and bought a home in Temecula. This was just before the BOOM that happened in the Temecula Valley! I am very happy the timing was right, as we are not ones to constantly move every few years and try to "upgrade" to bigger and "better" homes. When we first arrived traffic was pleasant, as compared to whence we came. Traffic was a breeze throughout town and even during rush hour on the I-15. The town had plenty of shopping available: big box stores / home improvement, grocery stores (including Costco, Winco and several brand stores), a nice newer mall (which has since grown substantially), great restaurants, a movie theater, etc (and of course Old Town Temecula and the Wineries that existed then). The people that worked at these establishments, as well as owners of different types of businesses, were always friendly and accommodating. Your neighbors and folks you ran into while out and about were just as friendly, often engaging in conversations with complete strangers. Fast forward to today: The housing BOOM had exploded, transplants from near and far started swarming in (many bringing their crappy miserable attitudes with them); Murrieta and Menifee started to boom too, causing one community to grow into the other until the lines are now blurred; more businesses sprouted up, offering up everything one could ask for; of course the dreaded traffic quintupled; the friendliness of others that was so breath taking has taken a beating, but there are still MANY good people around us. The City of Temecula has done a very good job with the planning over the years. They had a vision and knew what they wanted to do. They made sure large wide roadways (good infrastructure planning) were developed to handle the anticipated domestic vehicular increase, plenty of green belts and wonderful parks. The city has been offering free concerts in the park (Ronald Reagan Sports Park Amphitheater) during the summer months, as well as litany of classes and courses offered to the residents here. Very well done and generous in most all that they have done. Dealing with the increase in population one just has to roll with it. But, then again, I perceive most people relocating here come from even more congested places and this may be Nirvana to them. Complaints are minimal, but there are a few: I believe the City of Temecula has approved way to many apartment buildings. Grant it, affordable housing is needed to a point. But, when you really look around it's amazing how many there are and borderlines on ridiculous. That's MY opinion. Also, the city contracts with the Riverside County Sheriff's Department for law enforcement. From what I have seen I am not overly impressed. Plenty of criminals have moved into this town, as well as ones driving through. I can count on one hand how many times I have witnessed deputies (they like, for some odd reason, to be called "police officers" in contract cities) being proactive and jamming up drug addicts, thieves and gang members around this town (remember, I've lived here now for over 18 years). I've witnessed more noted proactive activity while passing through other towns, such as San Marcos and Vista, then I have here. There may be some go-getters assigned here, I just have not witnessed it but a few times ever. And how about the growing population of transients (homeless to you more sensitive types) that I have seen more and more of every waking day roaming our streets and strip malls. WTF? The city has been paying for a FULL TIME team of deputies to deal with this issue for a few years now, yet the numbers are increasing! That's one contract or mission, costing millions, that needs to be reevaluated or re-strategized. Some of you may not care, or have a bleeding heart for this type of ne'er do well activity, but I do care (as do a majority living here). Just telling it like I see it folks... Overall, though, "I'm a fan" of Temecula! If I have to live in the S/W Riverside County area this is the place to be! read more

Visit NOW! Drive through wine country. THEY HAVE HAD SO MUCH RAIN THAT THE GRASS IS GREEN FOR A CHANGE ..... AND the Mountains are covered with snow! Been here many times, but in this winter of record rains and snow, it is gorgeous. Whenever the grapes leaf out, it will look even better. Drive the back roads, especially the gravel ones, to find hills to look down over the valley for photos, such as the cell tower, water towers. Only reason for four stars, is the transients. Be sure to keep your car doors locked. The City is working very hard to address local crimes, and everyone in town cares about the transients and wants them to get the help they deserve. I remember Temecula back in the early 1980s, when there was nothing but the remnants of the high desert trickling down into the valley, and there wasn't anything out here except for a gas station and a Naugles....which someone recently told me became Del Taco (provoking a random stranger to interject in random disagreement, stating that he was positive Naugles became Bakers...I was unaware fast food nostalgia was such a hot-button topic, but I suppose anything's better than political debates!). Temecula was always just a sign with a low population number en route from Riverside to San Diego when I was younger...which makes the transformation over the past 30 or so years even more fantastic to think about. What was once barren and devoid of anything resembling decent retail sales is now filled with strip malls, housing developments, and restaurants. It's not surprising that many people are moving here from everywhere from San Diego to Riverside, and it's developed into quite an awesome city that barely resembles the drive-thru silent oasis that it was during my youth. It's beautiful and polished...and I love the downtown area especially - though it surprised me to know that some of the awesome places (like older restaurants and shops) had been around when I was young, but removed enough from the freeway that I wasn't surprised these hidden gems were around decades ago. During longer trips when we would end up stopping in Temecula, we usually didn't veer far from the main freeway exits. I'm actually happy that I remember this city way back when...because it makes me appreciate its growth even more. Temecula is not what it appears, you have a fake Old Town, which isn't the original spot of Old Town, it should've been where originally started at Vail Ranch next to Kohl's on Temecula Parkway, this is where Temecula actually began. People here are actually unfriendly, with their nose up in the air, an big ego's many people have moved here from out of state and have brought there think I'm wonderful attitudes here, if your moving here from out of state just bring your down to earth humbleness here, not your I have arrived disposition. The traffic can be terrible, Temecula has a Population of 113,000 people and is small square miles in size, Temecula does have very nice weather, a dry to humid 92 to 100 for it's Summer highs and Summer lows around 65 to 70, Winter highs 65 to 75 and lows 35 to 45, but not all the time, I actually think the best part of Temecula is the break in the Mountain to the West, as you get the Ocean Winds coming through, cooling the City off, the Break connects to Camp Pendleton south of San Clemente, which is really nice, this is one of the reason everyone had moved here in the 1990's. Safety in Temecula is a concern, I do not find it a safe city, we were almost carjacked a year ago in the Sprouts parking lot, and no one came to our assistance, and the Police never came, very glad my car was a keyless car. Safety in the neighborhood are deceitful, I do not feel safe once I walk out my front door. Friendliness is not there, people are always assuming the worst of you, neighbors aren't neighbors, there seems like there is no caring in this city, it is a very cold city, and I don't mean the weather, everyone is suspicious of each other, or always trying to find dirt on someone. Temecula is the 4th most Republican City in the state of California, there is a large percentage of Republicans living in this City. The rural parts of Temecula is beautiful, but it is also starting to fill up, in a few years it will probably be unrecognizable. The Temecula Shopping Mall is the best, it is a thriving Shopping Mall, with not one empty store in it, a nice sight to see. I don't drink, but he Wineries are beautiful, drive up to Callaways and enjoy the view. The Beaches are about a 45 minutes drive from Temecula, to either to Oceanside to the South route and to Orange County beaches to the Ortega Highway route there both are about the same amount of time. I would not rate Temecula with high ratings, and why doesn't the city do enough to honor the Military, Camp Pendleton Marine Base is just next door. I have lived in Temecula for 8 years and it is truly the Jewel of Riverside County. It has the San Diego feel without the LA and O.C. snobbery. Temecula has outstanding parks and is an extremely clean city with great city services. For families it has great schools both public and private, and the family activities are many. For the religious crowd Temecula has a flavor of all denominations. So, my view is Temecula is the Place to be year round. read more
