Unfortunately, the second appointment was very different. Mia seemed frustrated to see me, and her manner felt dismissive and harsh. As she began to go over what we planned last visit, she aggressively clapped her hands at each point she made. During the wash, the water was cold and splashing, my fragile hair was handled roughly, and the blow dryer was held on one spot to the point of discomfort. I did not speak up, I have anxiety and just wanted to get it done and leave. The front desk interaction also felt unprofessional, with eye-rolling and giggling comments on how I expressed concern about the color. I don't believe Mia is bad at hair -- my first appointment showed she has skill, but the way I was treated during the follow-up left me shocked and anxious. I'm sharing this so others are aware of the service experience I had, and I hope the salon takes this feedback seriously to ensure clients feel respected and cared for.

Plus, wanted something that's a closer drive to my home/work. My appointment on Tuesday was with Ashleigh, @locksandlore, and she was the absolute sweetest. Even though she's a curly specialist, I wanted someone who truly understands my hair as I make this big shift. I also saw Danielle, @fairiehairie, for the wash and style after the cut and she was lovely. Everyone there was so professional and friendly! Am looking forward to coming back as a regular client to Snapdragon, and plan to get some color and a Brazilian Blowout in the coming months.

I do have wavy curls that go in different directions, which is why I wanted someone with more experience. They made an appointment for a cut right after the consult. The four photos are 1) what I wanted, 2) the pre-cut side, 3) pre-cut front, and 4) the "master" cut. Complaints: She split her time between 4 clients at once, so was always leaving in the middle of cutting and seemingly forgetting what she had started, even WITH the photo I had. With the staccato stop and starts, it took longer than necessary. She charged me a whopping $125 for a cut that is not that difficult!!! It was a shock when I got to the register, but she was already gone to her multitude of simultaneous clients. I also bought a $16 travel size bottle of dryspun texture spray she recommended as I will be traveling for 3 weeks. The problem? The tip I added for the cut was also applied to the spray bottle, but I did not know until I got the emailed receipt as they would not give me a printed receipt!!! Frankly, I looked better going into the salon than leaving. The total damage was over $168!!!! There was no coloring, no extensions, and no great "master" cut! Although everyone was quite friendly, I will not be returning. It was robbery to charge that amount for the cut and service I got. The best part of the experience was her assistant who washed my hair.

But I had a terrible experience and left very upset. I made it clear to my hairdresser that I have been slowing working on lightening my hair for almost a year now. It is long so it is taking a while. I told her I had no desire to do darker because it shows my grays more. I even told her the number color I wanted to use. She kept walking around- back and forth with color swatches. Then she asked the owner what color he thought. I said darker so it was all one color (not knowing I have been working on lightening it). She asked me again- what was my goal. I said I don't want black hair. It will make my grays stand out. I walked out with black hair. Hopefully if you go here, you get someone who listens to you.
