I am 77 years old and arrived at the train station having traveled from Albany and needed a ride to my home. I had ordered the cab from the train. I was asked to sit in the front and was having difficulties adjusting the seat for more leg room. The lady driver saiid "do this honey". I said "" My name is ----". She then yelled "Get out!" She ran to the back and threw my suitcase on the sidewalk. My phone was out of power so I walked to a coffee shop and called a cab from another company. I was shaking and crying by the time I made it home. I have always lived in Plattsburgh and hope no one else has to endure this sort of experience from a local business. read more

I have been using your services for around 6 months. I work at a local restaurant and I take your taxi 10 times a week at a rate of 11.50 each way. I also use your services on my days off to shop. I tip your cab drivers 3$ to 5$ a ride so you can do the math as to how much a week i SPENT. I say spent because after this weekend you are closing on weekends. There is no other 24 hr cab in Plattsburgh so I will have to resort to Uber or Lyft and at the times my place of employment closes I could be spending 20$ or more to get home and I'm not the only employee affected by your poor judgment decision making on closing weekends. I will now have to find another way to work and home weekends which I will do even if it's walking home at 2 am. Once I find other venues to transport me from and to work on weekends I will also be using same service through the work week. You have lost a dedicated passenger for good. I wish you all the luck on your new venture of poor decision making but as for my 120 plus dollars a week we'll, we will be going else where for services. Oh and I want to say James is one of the sweetest people I've met on this earth and you even turned him sour...JUST SHAME ON YOU for all these poorly made decisions. Drivers are very rude. I paid for the ride using my card on the app and then was told I had to pay again in cash... Called to talk to someone and just got a very rude women. Calling me a lier and just screaming at me. Highly recommend not using them read more

I called the city taxi to give my friends a ride from a wedding and the taxi driver called me back 10 minutes later saying "I didn't want to give them a ride I don't trust it." It was in Altoona and he was so rude. He asked if they were outside I told them yes and he said he wasn't even there he never even showed up to the location because he didn't want to drive that far. I called the taxi location and all they told me was that they wouldn't send him our way next time. Such bullshit read more

I usually take city taxi due to them being pretty good with timing. The dispatchers are usually friendly. My issue was with the driver. The driver called me when trying to pick me up. He complained and yelled at me when I wasn't able to elaborate anything that was nearby. I was visiting a friend I have never visited before in his new home. The driver was rude and hung up on me. I attempted to call back and he didn't pick up. He was very disrespectful when he talked to me. I don't drive yet so I don't know where many locations are. He's treating me like I should know where things are when I don't. He was really rude enough that I was pissed about this. His number is 1 518-569-1796 so the driver with this number, if he calls you, prepare for rudeness in his attitude. He was really mean when complaining he didn't know how to reach my friends house. I kept telling him the address and he was freaking out on me for not knowing other landmarks around me. I hate to leave a negative review due to the other drivers being lovely and the dispatchers being great but this driver soured my choices on taxis. read more

Booked a pick up via the app and paid with card. Was told estimate was $9.50 and a 10% charge would be added cool can't be much more. I got charged 90% more and when I inquired why dispatch had no explanation. You can't have an app and not know the simple reason why/how it works. This company is the worst that I have ever had the displeasure of doing business with, not only do they charge the highest prices their customer service is the worst featuring the worst drivers perfect example, I called the company explained that I was handicap and needed a driver to help me what I got instead was a driver that left me stranded because he couldnt help, when he should have instead explained the situation and given me the choice, not only that but he actually took another fare which had been the fare of another company i would find out talk about business ethics, I called the company to explain the situation and was left with there's nothing they could or would do to rectify the situation I strongly suggest against doing any business with this company to anyone. read more

If I could give them a Zero I would. I've called these people many times before and every time it baffles me how horrible they are. The cars are filthy and the drivers take over an hour to arrive or don't show up at all! I called at 3:30pm and the dispatcher said itd be about a 20 minute wait, and the guy didn't show up until after 5pm! he left a nasty message saying how he was there and I wasn't.. well ya! I had places to be and I need to find another form of transportaction if you don't show up. If you need a ride I reccomed Champlain Taxi service, or Uber! My 86 year old father takes this taxi often. On Friday he took a taxi from a restaurant to his house. His phone is missing on Saturday. Dispatcher was rude and cursing, said he didn't have the logs from yesterday. Refused to look at all. Asked for the number for lost and found. DisconnectEd. Asked for owner number, understand he cannot give me that. So asked him to call owner and have them call me back. He called the police on me. Taxi driver picked up a stranger shortly after picking me up, and told me he had to drive him first before driving me home. I asked that this not happen as I didn't agree to this but he continued. Talk about inconvenient, unsafe, and unpleasant all at the same time. Got out as soon as I could and was stranded because of this. Never again. read more

plattsburgh city taxi is the worst cab company I have come across, not only do they overcharge and change their prices but they will give anyone who calls knowing your phone number, your address or where they dropped you off and even the date and the time. they gave away my address and where I was dropped off/picked up as well as dates and times, to someone who was stalking my fiancé and have yet to hear from the "manager" on why they would even think slightly it was okay to give away their customers address to someone over the phone not knowing who they were. The girl on the phone just laughed and kind of played "dumb" i will never trust this place, there are plenty of other better/cheaper and more safe cab companies than this one. read more

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. My Daughter needed to get to the Emergency Room and called Plattsburgh City Taxi for a ride. She was told it would be $21 for her and her boyfriend. About 4 miles down the road she told the driver she forgot her Doctor's paperwork. The driver called dispatch and drove her home. Dispatch charged her $33 for the 8 miles and said if she still wanted to go to the Emergency Room it would be $56. I always try to support local businesses but I hope this one goes out of business. I guess we'll support Uber from now on. read more

Very fast service and not too expensive either. I have used this company since the 1970s when I was just a young man. They are the only consistent taxi in town. The dispatchers are great also. My favorite dispatchers would have been Toby S. Dan H. and Paul P. whome I believe none are any longer with the company. They always had me to work on time to the hospital. read more

Drive this company out of business! We had a terrifying experience this Thanksgiving holiday with this company. We ordered a cab with the pay ANY TYPE option because we were going to use a debit card. The driver then demands cash. We explained to him we'd need to go to an ATM we didn't find an open one and he started going ballistic cursing us out. We demanded he stop the insults and he told us to get out of the car. Then he had the gall to threaten my daughter and say I know where you live. We reported him to the cab company and if he's still employed they haven't done their duty. We then had to file a police report. This guy hound be in jail or in an asylum. Great job hiring the lowest of the low City Taxi! read more

This so called taxi company is the worst I've ever seen. They are unprofessional and rude. their dispathcers have absolutely no idea what they are doing... lazyness on their drivers part is taken out on the customer while the company assumes no responsibility for the actions of their drivers. They change rules on a whim. I used to bring them alot of business because i run a local motel, and I called a cab for a customer, and when i did , they didnt show up in time, then they said they wouldnt send another cab because the customer was a no show. Instead of offering a solution , they chose to argue and be idiotic. Now i wont send my worst enemy to them. This is not they way customer service should be done. I was a regular, loyal customer of City Taxi for over six months. I called them twice a day, five days a week, and never had a problem until I made the terrible mistake of having a few drinks at a friends' house on a Friday night. When it was time to go home, I went outside BEFORE I even called my cab. I called from the porch and waited there in the cold for an hour. I know that sometimes they're busy on Fridays so that wasn't the bad service part. I called back to make sure it was still on its way, and the dispatcher I had the displeasure of talking to was so rude, it's made me reconsider ever using them again. I asked if my cab was still on the way, and he told me (in the most contemptuous voice I've ever heard) that the cab had already been here, beeping and waiting for me, and I hadn't been here. I told him that couldn't be right, and verified the address, because I'd been waiting outside the entire time and never saw a City Taxi even slow down. The dispatcher then said "No, you weren't there, so just call somebody else" and hung up on me. So bravo, City Taxi. Leave a drunk girl stranded outside her friends' house for an hour, then insist that SHE made a mistake. Then don't even apologize - treat her like she's garbage and hang up on her, further abandoning her. That's a real class act you've got going there. Never calling them again. read more

I am a frequent rider with this company. The cars are always clean, the drivers are pleasant and polite, and some are really friendly. Rarely do you get a quiet, silent driver, but even then they are polite. I usually ride alone, but have on rare occasions had another passenger in the car either before they pick me up, or picked up after me. Usually that happens when there is another pickup close by to me or my destination, and usually only during bad weather, when more people seem to call taxis rather than walk or take a bus. Most often, I call ahead and request a "time call" and rarely are they late, but only by 3-5 minutes, which can be blamed on traffic, weather, etc. Even when I don't have a time call, they show up within 10-15 minutes of my call. I can't really think of anything negative to say, except maybe a few of the cars are older and could probably be replaced, but they run well and are kept clean. I'm very happy with the service I receive from City Taxi in Plattsburgh. Thanks!!! read more

I will never use this taxi company again! Had a traumatizing experience with them yesterday when they came to pick up my friend and I and am still trying to get over it. When we were picked up our driver rudely says "Are you getting in or not, you've already wasted enough of my time." Apparently he must have been extremely stressed about some roads being closed and he had difficulty finding us. Once we got in the car, he muffles under his breath, "im tired of this shit, suck a dick, bitches, among others profanities...." My friend and I (two young women) were frightened and contemplated getting out but it was bad weather and did not want to walk the 40 minutes back so choose to stay in, a choice i now regret. The driver was fully aware of where we were being picked up from and where we were going, if he did not think the trip was feasible, the company should have told us that on the phone. It was absolutely ridicules that my friend and i had to be subjected to such verbal aggressiveness. read more

Called from the Airport, First Taxi picked up others,then had no room, called again for another Taxi, and waited again. Driver made no attempt to help with luggage, cab was dirty and smelled even worse. When we got to our destination the driver overcharged me to get a good tip. Called the company, but they kept the money anyhow, too bad they have to rip off senior citizens....how low can you go? If you do business with these people prepare to get robbed ! read more
