Arrived from St Pierre on our cruise ship and got a cab at pier. Took us to botanical garden. No issues. Driver was very friendly and told us stuff about the area as he drove. At the botanical garden they have a priority # and they called a cab to pick us up and take us to a local cemetery. When we needed picked up the cemetery I was on hold for at least 10 min. Then I had to figure out an address since the cemetery doesn't have a house number. Took over 30 min to get a taxi to The Rooms. From there it was all downhill. I recommend never use city wide taxi ever. I accidentally left a packet in the taxi and called city wide taxi right away for help. The operator did not provide any support even though I gave the driver information. Rather he behaved very rude and directly told he won't help me!!!! read more

I wouldn't even give this a taxi service a 1 star... I called and was trying to locate my address I was at and because I took more then a second (after I said hold on I'm looking up the exact address) they hung up on me and that only after I felt like an idiot given the full address out loud 3 seconds after I said hold on!!!! And no one was there on the phone to help me ) !!!! No taxi service should hang up or put someone on hold when they are trying to get a ride from somewhere .... the man who answered both times was not friendly and needs customer service management. Absolute shambles, booked through the app, the driver wasn't able stop the drive on the app ended up having to pay an extra 10$ for no reason. Once I called the dispatcher to get the situation sorted after being stuck in the car for a while, he gave me shit for being the one calling instead of the driver. Horrible. 25 minutes late. Then took us on a very roundabout route. I was following on google maps and asked where he was going and then he got back on track. a 14 min max trip (longest route on google) took 21 minutes. On July 2, 2022, my friend and I used City Wide Taxi to get from St. John's to Argentia to catch the ferry. It was the worst experience we had in an otherwise lovely city. I cannot recommend them. Don't use them. They are terrible! * Our driver, Cyril D. (ID #5151) showed up with an empty tank of gas (the car was literally beeping.) He complained about the price of gas as we pulled into a station (which he should not have done in front of clients.) We had to wait for him to fill up (something he should have done before picking up clients.) * I asked him FIVE times to turn on the AC because it was a hot day. He ignored me. * He kept the windows down even at high speed, even when I had my hands over my ears because they hurt from the wind. (My friend thought maybe Cyril was hard of hearing and not actually ignoring me, but every time my friend and I tried to have a quiet conversation, Cyril would roll up the windows and comment, so I know he heard me JUST FINE.) * He did not put on his seatbelt even after I asked him to and complained about the constant beeping from the car. * He ATE A BOX OF FRIED CHICKEN while driving us down the highway! * He pulled his phone out of his back pocket while driving, then answered two separate phone calls, at length, WHILE DRIVING. THIS IS ILLEGAL! The dispatcher for this company should be fired. Ive never spoken to somebody in customer service who is this rude and I've been in the customer support industry for 20 plus years. I understand that it gets busy and overwhelming and frustration can take over but this doesn't give anybody the right to be rude to their customers. The drivers however are great! They provided excellent service. I booked a taxi to the airport early in the morning. They showed up on time. Not only that, but they took the time to call me when I didn't come out . I'm very lucky they did, I slept through my alarms and would've missed my flight if it wasn't for them. read more

Had the delightful opportunity of being picked up by City Wide, from downtown. The driver asked where I would be going. I told him paradise, to which he replied "can you afford that". Long story short, I got to paradise and the cab fare was 53.50. Which was around what I expected it to be. I had 50 cash which I paid and tried to pay the rest with my debit card but his debit device wasn't working. So today I was trying to get in contact with the driver to ensure he received his 3.50 but apparently that driver doesn't exist. The person I spoke to on the phone, from City Wide, hung up on me after telling me the driver ID was from newfound cabs. The driver ID # 5298 is not from newfound cabs, it turns out they only use 3 digit driver ID numbers as confirmed by the company. Not to mention the fact that the cab I got aboard was orange with City Wide written on it. Anyway if someone can help me find Rida (Driver ID 5298) to ensure he gets his 3.50 that would be greatly appreciated!! Or if there is somewhere I can go to pay my outstanding balance. Do not recommend the company they need to fire all their drivers and rehired of half of them don't know where to even go so they need to rely on GPS and tonight the guy had no idea where I lived and he did not have access to a GPS so I needed to use mine because he would not listen to my directions at all generally it only charged me $12.50 every night to get home from work and for the past couple times it went anywhere from 14 to $15 because they took the longest way possible do not use this company for now on I'm going to be using Newfound cabs Also they take up to like 15 to 20 minutes to come and pick me up at work that's ridiculously slow read more

I used to use this taxi company ALL THE TIME for work, but recently a family member was struck by a City Wide Taxi. The driver lied to police and the insurance company about what happened because he was angry my family member decided to go through insurance due to injuries received. If this is how their drivers "have honed their skills in customer service, and general professionalism" (taken from their website) their customers should be concerned. It wouldn't be a surprise to me that their approach would be the same if it was a passenger injured. There are other taxi companies in St. John's who are in fact professional AND HONEST; use them and be safe read more
