This cab company was recommended to me by a friend, so I had high expectations going in, but I have to say that Newfound Cabs exceeded those expectations. Cabs are clean and well-kept, and drivers are friendly and courteous (if you ever happen to find yourself being driven by a guy named Rick, strike up a conversation - you won't be disappointed!) Their app is an added bonus - you can request a pickup for now or book one for a specified time and date. I prebooked a cab for my trip to the airport and it was right on time, which was awesome. About 2 months ago, my mother was getting into a cab after getting groceries. As she was still getting into the cab (Newfound Cabs), the driver decided to drive off. She fell out of the cab. Thankfully the driver wasn't going too fast. She was slightly bruised and she was in some pain. Thankfully, She didn't hit her head and nothing was broken. The driver did apologize but she has heard nothing from the cab company. I spoke with Paul, the manager, who assured me that he would offer anything we needed. I thought some complimentary cab rides would be ok. But Paul hasn't responded. When I text, he promises me he'll get back to me the next day. He never does. This has been 2 months now. I didn't think free cab rides was unreasonable. So now I take it to the court of public opinion. Let's spread the word on how they don't seem to care about the elderly. read more

The service was terrible because we had to wait out in the freezing I see weather when it was snowing for so long because they didn't even get there when they said they would they said it would be 10 to 15 minutes but it was like 20 to 30 so we decided to walk because it took too long I'm getting this a one star that's how terrible it was read more

Rude dispatchers throw attitude because their drivers take forever to get to you and don't wait longer than 10 seconds. Call back to get another cab sent and this guy get lippy, acting tough on the phone. Call any other company than these guys. Don't bother trying to complain, they will do everything they can to gatekeeper supervisors or managers to prevent you from reporting their behaviour. Next time I get a threat from this brain-dead dispatcher, I make the entire thing public on YouTube. It's time they had some accountability. read more

A very rude dispatcher. I picked their taxi with a client with special needs and forgot a drink inside their car. I called back just about a minute after we alighted to inform them. I was told initially that the driver will be back to our home with the drink soon. I called back 11 minutes later to follow up only to be told by a rude dispatcher that there was no drink in the car. As I tried to tell him where we kept the drink inside the car, he just retorted rudely "I hate it when people don't listen. There's no drink in the car" and just dropped the call on me without even listening to me. It's either this person was a racist (as he could tell from my ascent that I'm not a Newfoundlander or he's just not cut for the job he's doning. If I had my way, I would NEVER patronise their services. I wish there was a zero rating! read more

Thinking about driving for my old broker so I'm reading the reviews. Always pay by credit card and ask for a receipt because your employer insists on it. If you have google location tracking turned on it will support your charge dispute with credit card company. Taxi stand owner will not enjoy this dispute process and may fire the driver who will not know who you are. As driver I always have location tracking turned on. Cell phone company have tower ping records. If accused, tell the cops to produce them (requires serious effort & evidence to get the warrant). Don't falsely accuse a driver of anything, he may be recording audio for his protection. Girls night out? Ask me to get your tunes on my Spotify, you get out of my car in a party mood. I won't hassle you but I do listen nicely. read more

The worst drivers in the city! One in particular is an older female driver who, smells of cigarette smoke and drives like a maniac around the downtown area. Me and my girlfriends had the unfortunate experience with her this past Friday night downtown. Never, ever again. Rude, smelly and drove her cab like she stole it. Newfound Cabs should really care and take the time to make sure they are hiring quality drivers before just putting a body behind the wheel. Rudeness and incompetence doesn't fly with me. There isn't a rating low enough here this service is beyond redicilous ! They never answer there phone and has there customers waiting up to an hour and a half ! I called over a half an hour ago still waiting and this is a constant thing with this company ! Called tonight for a pet friendly cab, and the dispatcher said no problem at all. When the car arrived we asked her to start the meter while we got our dog and what not, but when we walked over with the dog she told us the only way our dog (who is 50 lbs) was getting in the cab was if he sat on the floor or her station wagon and didn't make a noise because he had walked across a wet gravel driveway. He wasn't even allowed in if he was in my lap. Very disappointed with the service. Definitely not pet friendly or helpful. The driver cursed under her breath at us when we told her we would find another ride. Very unprofessional. read more

Newfoundcabs best company in st johns. located on 88 thorburn road. Quick polite very courteous and willing to help. They have wheel chair accessible vehicles suvs minivans and cars too. Great rates available to book via their ap available on Google play store or the apple ap store. Male and female drivers as well available all drivers are criminal background clearance checked, first aid trained as well. All vehicles are kept well cleaned and maintained. read more

My daughter left her phone in a Newfound Cab last night and called the dispatch immediately after. At first it seemed like she would get it back as the dispatcher apparently called the cab and then informed her friend that the driver had it and would come back to where they dropped her off. They waited over an hour and called back several times while waiting and the dispatcher suddenly had a memory lapse and couldn't remember the cab he was talking about before. He "appeared" to try and contact any cab who knew something about a phone but no one answered. ??? I called him and got the same response. So where is this cab driver with the $600 iphone??? Who is in on this??? The dispatcher asked if there was a tracking device on it and I naively said I'm not sure..I think so. Suddenly when we called the phone it was off. just got a cab home from the Avalon mall to the goulds and the cab driver I had was the most ignorant person I have ever met, we told him the way we wanted to go but he didn't listen and took the long way around. at the end of the drive we told him about his mistake and he then called us off, saying very mean and nasty things to us, he called me a f***ing idiot and called me a moron, and just about everything under the sun, I will never in my life get a newfound cab again. Verry dissapointed in Newfound Cabs... my girlfriend called them just this morning and we had a fair bit of snow early on in the morning, I should know my work was cancelled untill 10 AM... she had to work at 1PM.. roads were plowed and the specific street the cab was asked to come up was plowed. while waiting a long time outside for the cab my girlfriend decided to go down to the end to the street to make it easier for the cab driver. She saw the cab and the cab driver did not even stop... this may not have pissed me off so much if she didnt get the pissy toned snappy dispatcher when she called again telling her it was the middle of a storm.. not even snowing in the mean time...saying that the road wasnt plowed and we do not call people. Oh and just two days before this we both called Newfound Cabs, which used to be my fav.. and they said they would call when they were there.. Not happy with the imature treatment. and if i got my hands on the dispatcher i'd beat the piss out of him! read more
