The doctor and/or Nurse who you will see are very good, helpful and empathetic. It is the follow up from their staff that is an issue. They did not send the prescription the day I visited and I was supposed to be taking that prescription that very day. When I contacted the staff they said there was a "computer glitch" and so I asked when I could expect it. Response was not assuring, even when I told them that I needed the prescription yesterday. Follow up is key in patient health, great that I am a pretty healthy person and my symptoms are not too drastic. read more

They really wanted to just go home because we drove down the road to CITRA on mockingbird. We recieved excellent urgent care and were spared the inflated expense of an ER. This facility is abysmal. Go to urgent care er down the street. I came in for a coronavirus swab. There was no one else in the lobby. I waited 45 minutes. They took a swab in about 20 seconds. I have been to this CityDoc location several times now. Each time I have seen NP Jojo Heard. She is wonderful. She is so kind and caring. Each time I was there for less than 30 minutes and new my diagnosis almost immediately after testing. Billing is super easy they get your insurance and upload your balance to your account online once the claim is paid. Today I went in for a sore throat and found out I had strep. I went back a few hours later as I was in extreme pain. Jojo made a point to come sit with me as I was breaking down and make sure I was okay. I have no family around, so it meant a lot to me to feel that genuine care for my health from a provider. I had some trouble getting my Rx but I was reassured that they send them immediately online and was given a copy of the prescription and the pharmacies that it had been called in to. Unfortunately I've been in more than my share of hospitals in my time, but this was by far the best one. I have to admit it got off to a bad start when I had to wait in the ER for NINE hours before getting a room. But to be fair, the ER was PACKED that night, and my case was not urgent. But after that, everything was great. The staff was friendly, polite, and helpful. The room was great. The food was wonderful - if I had stayed much longer I was going to get fat! I particularly want to mention one nurse named Zehra. She was terrific. Obviously try not to go in the first place, but if you must, I highly recommend this WPC. read more

I went here after injuring my foot and hand last week. They took x-rays and told me I'd fractured my ankle and thumb. They were sending the images to a radiologist for a second opinion and told me they'd get back to me the next day. I never heard from them, and I was always sent to voicemail when I called. They never replied to my multiple voicemail messages throughout the week or my messages sent online. After spending a hefty out of pocket fee at an orthopedic specialist, I found out I didn't have any fracture. Not even torn tendons or ligaments, just a sprained ankle and thumb that were healing fine. The care is fine at the time of appointment, but the false information and lack of follow up or communication means I won't be returning. read more

The lady at the front is instantly rude, passive and resting face by nature it seems. First experience everyone was shockingly rude, but figured we'd give it a second try - nothing changed. She is working in the wrong line of work if she doesn't know how to treat patients with compassion. Tech was just as non friendly this location treats you like you are just another number. I went in for a routine test and all went well. Short wait time, friendly service! The problem came when they sent a secure email with the test results. I tried the "One time passcode" several times to no avail so I called. The person answering was unable to give me the results and transferred me to a line that was busy. I then decided to drive back to CitiDoc for the results. After waiting a short time the person at the front desk asked me if I had access to a desktop. I said no. She then said the secure email cannot be accessed by an iPhone. Stupid me! She then printed out my result. read more

Awful! From the front desk to the doctor I've yet to run into someone that's even somewhat friendly. When I mentioned to the doc that I prefer a more homeopathic approach when it comes to being healthy she sighed, shook her head and proceeded to treat me like I was a 5 year old. I am of course open to medications/antibiotics or I wouldn't have gone in for an exam, which she didn't even do!! I've had (what I believe to be a sinus infection) for over 2 weeks, after I explained my symptoms the doctor said you have allergies get some Zyrtec and sent me on my way. This place SUCKS. See similar nightmare below. Ecoli UTI. Told them macrobid does not work as I am now resistant to it. They refused to write me an antibiotic that has worked in the past. Suffering. Called back and begged for better antibiotic. They refused. A week later called and begged again, they told me they were calling it in now. I went to pick it up, they never called anything in and were closed. Went to ER, now have blood in urine too, UTI worse, pain worse. A lot of pain to go through because these people refuse to write effective meds to patients. Don't waste your money on this place. I wish I had read all the reviews before going. I went to CityDoc with a sinus infection, ear pain and vertigo. I was given a steroid shot. The next day, I had a headache and my ear pain seemed worse. That evening, pus started oozing out of my right eye. By morning, both my eyes were crusted shut. After getting them open, I found that my vision was obscured and my night vision almost nonexistent. I visited another urgent care and was told that I had conjunctivitis and an ear infection. According to the doctor I saw, the steroid had supercharged my underlying illness. read more

I went there in major pain from a gout flare-up and was watched by a receptionist with a bemused smile on her face (always fun to see when your foot feels like there are multiple turkey carvers shredding it from the inside). At least they were also slow, required multiple pages to the same exact information to be filled out (even though I was there only a couple of days earlier and had filled out the same exact pages of duplicate information then). Of course, once in the exam room, I got to "relax" there for an interminable period before being blesed by a PA's 180 seconds on high impact consultation ("so you say you have gout, huh? this must be a flare up."). Lessons leared: Proximity does not necessarily equate to speed and CityDoc have been docked from my go-to list. read more

Okay, I was somewhat unsure what to expect since all the yelp reviews seem to split down the middle of "this place is terrible" and "this place is awesome." Nevertheless, I braved it bc it was the closest and I was not feeling good enough to drive far. I did have quite a wait--about an hour--which seems like an eternity when you're achey, have chills, and are convinced you have the flu. But I really don't think they could have done anything to help the wait. Everything seem to be running as efficiently as possible. As a nurse myself, I am familiar with the flow of a clinic and this one seemed completely satisfactory. Everyone I came in contact with were compassionate and friendly. I especially loved the doc who was on, Dr. Margaret Bailey. She had wonderful bedside manner and I felt completely at ease with her medical judgment. I would definitely come back here if needed, but let's face it--I hope I never need to return! read more

PRESTON/ROYAL LOCATION: While the service was decent, the front desk receptionist was late to work which meant I had to once again fill out the forms I filled out online before heading to Urgent Care. The person that I was with to receive services asked to go to the restroom and then later the doctor requested a urine sample (um...probably could have asked for that when they went to the restroom the first time and emptied their bladder). Another review commented negatively on the billing procedures/practices. I experienced this as well. Even though I confirmed that they take my insurance and spoke with my insurance provider before receiving services who confirmed that benefits for Urgent Care on our plan are the same as benefits for an Office Visit, they claimed that since I had not met my deductible for the year I had to pay $130.00+ before I left because they do not bill like an Urgent Care (but PrimaCare does!!!! Thanks for telling me where I should go next time). I have since spoken to my insurance provider again as well as our insurance agent and have been told that this is incorrect. I should only have had to pay the co-pay. You can be sure I will be following up to receive a refund on what they will be reimbursed by the insurance company. read more

I was having pain on my side and was diagnosed with a urinary tract infection (UTI). This clinic charged me over $200, however they prescribed me the wrong type of antibiotics. The antibiotics prescribed was Amoxicillin which is to treat a mild to moderate ear, nose, or throat infection not a UTI. I went back to my regular doctor and she prescribed me Bactrim, and told me the Amoxicillin was wrong type of antibiotics because I still had the UTI. read more

The other day I had a strange infection (think I might have bit my cheek while chewing gum, and some gym germs on my iPhone found a new home). This thing looked pretty nasty and had me fairly concerned, like "omfgihopeidon'tdie" terrified. So I just walked in the front door with no appointment, filled out a single piece of paper and waited two minutes to be seen. Everyone was ultra-professional, extremely courteous and definitely on top of things. The antibiotic prescribed was one of the finest on the market and worked exactly as described. I couldn't believe it cleared up the issue within 48 hours. These people definitely know what they're doing. Do not get "treated" by Dr. Noha Mataoui. Lacks knowledge and bedside manners. I called ahead to make sure they could treat me for my symptoms. I ended up waiting over an hour. The staff were sitting around laughing while patients were in the room. The doctor told me I needed to go to an emergency room but when I asked which one, she couldn't even tell me. She had no idea how to interact with patients or give a real answer to medical causes. read more

Excellent care for an eye scratch that needed attention on a Sunday. We called first and I was pleased to speak to the receptionist. We had no wait. The nurse tech who took vitals was kind and professional. The NP JoJo was great. She explained what she saw examined the eye with a dye etc. I'm glad we have the needed drops and we'll follow up with eye dr., but have peace of mind we received excellent urgent care. Horrible service here!!! 6 days after a rapid test and I still have no covid test answer, however they told me it was most likely positive but called it "invalid". Said they would send it off. That night I got a message saying I needed to come back in next day bc they forgot to reswab my nose. Ugh. Have called a few times to find an answer whether I'm positive or not so I can inform work and others and all they can say is "you'll get an email." Really?? Since they screwed it up you'd think they'd try to get an answer before I go around possibly infecting others. Good luck at this place. Went in to get a cut fixed on my head. The doctor said I had an option of staples or a hair apposition which she recommended the hair apposition. I got it and she said the glue would come out 7-10 days later. Cue day 22 and the glue was not out yet so I went back in to get it out. As I check in the receptionist tells me I must pay for the glue that's still stuck in my hair because of them. There goes $25. Then I wait an hour and a half to get in before they tell they have to cut my hair off to get the glue out. Why did they tell me to do the glue in the first place? Anyway, never go here they're just looking for your money and a cheap fix that won't work. Hope no one else falls for what I did read more

This establishment was a real lifesaver a few weeks ago when I ended up getting a nasty staph infection in my hand while out of town on business. After I finished my presentations and meetings that afternoon, I knew I needed medical treatment, but I didn't know where to go. I tried my old primary care physician in Uptown, but he was too busy to see me that day. I tried the CVS "Minute Clinic" in Preston Center but I needed treatment that a P.A. was not able to provide. Though starting to feel desparate, I didn't want to spend the money on an ER visit if I could avoid it. Finally, I tried CityDoc. They are open late on weeknights (9pm), and they don't require an appointment, so I was able to be seen pretty much immediately. The doctor, Shiwali Rai M.D., incised and drained the infection (which hurt like hell), gave me a prescription for antibiotics and a pain killer, bandaged my hand and sent me on my way for $40. That's a slightly higher co-pay than when I see my regular doctor, but it was totally worth it to access reliable medical care in that situation. I need to write this while it is still fresh on my mind. Conveniently, this City Doc does not have any email contact info on their website; nor any survey feedback forms; which I am beginning to think is a desire to not improve. However, I felt so strongly about my negative experience, I am posting this on Yelp - first time ever. My feedback is for medical services I received. I am over 61 years of age; have insurance and have allergies. I am just getting over a cold (10 days I have had it). I know when I have a cold and when it develops into a sinus infection. I get them about half of the time following a cold. At the Inwood Village City Doc Urgent Care, I was told by the doctor I saw today that unless I had a splitting sharp pain in my head that I did not have a sinus infection. Dr. Stafford told me over and over again that I did not have a bacterial sinus infection unless I had this symptom and that it takes 3 to 4 months to get one and be treated for one. Ummmm. I guess over my 61, almost 62 years of life I have never had a sinus infection since I have never had this stabbing sharp pain in my sinuses. She then prescribed an antihistamine and a decongestant - which I informed her that I was allergic to and that the this information was in my chart - lest she argue with me about that, too. I left the Clinic and promptly went to my allergist for help (who I should have gone to in the first place and will do so in the future). When I asked my allergist about this need for a sharp pain in my sinuses in order to have a bacterial infection he said she was wrong. He laughed and said she must be a new doc. Well, after this new doc assured me that I did not have a bacterial sinus infection and she refused to prescribe any antibiotics; she told me that I had just gotten my cold today. I told her 'No, I have had this cold for 10 days and I know when it goes into a bacterial sinus infection - I have been able to tell this over my many years of experience with my body....and it has always been confirmed by my allergist, my primary care doctor and up until today any urgent care doctor. When I went to see my allergist he confirmed that I had a bacterial sinus infection. So, I would like to tell whom ever is in charge of Dr. Stafford (if she is held accountable to anyone - although I doubt she feels she is, given her lack of bedside manner as she argued with me in a very unprofessional way) that I will never darken your doors again. I have been going to this Urgent Care for many years since it is close to my home in the Park Cities and have never received this treatment. Your receptionist was very nice, polite and professional as was the nurse who attended me. Dr. Stafford was unprofessional; talked down to me (I am not used to this as I am a tax attorney) and argued with me about my symptoms. She said I told her I had my cold for just one day - I did not say that, nor was it true - I had had my cold for 10 days and today I had symptoms of a bacterial sinus infection - fever, chills, acute pressure in my head and sinuses and an overwhelming lack of energy to the point I was almost sick to my stomach. Needless to say I was very disappointed in the medical service I received and unprofessional treatment by Dr. Stafford. I hope this feedback will be helpful. Good in the sense that they were quick to see me once I got in. As far as the actual care I received though, I was in and out in about 15 mins and went in with a minor issue. Just received a finalized claim from BCBS only to find out that this practice has billed for TWO "Emergency Accident Visits" and an "Emergency Accident Exam". I did not go in for an emergency, heck the only reason I even went in was because I wanted to confirm what I had already found thru google. I will definitely be contacting BCBS as it appears that they are participating in billing fraud. It's healthcare providers like these guys which make people loathe practitioners. I give them a 1 star for 2 reasons. First, the system doesn't allow for none, and second my issue did get corrected. I went to them because they were across the street from me and convenient, I knew my copay would be twice what my regular doctor is but I didn't want to wait. I had ear wax blocking my ear, they flushed it with a spray bottle in a couple of minutes and this is what my itemized bill looked like (that I received from my insurance company, not from city doc). Earwax removal 152.00 Office Visit 154.00 Urgent Care Service (this feels a little bit like redundancy with the office visit charge) 50.00 Oxygen Level Monitoring, which I didn't receive unless this means to them that I was still breathing when I left. 6.00 Misc Service/Supply 10.00 Don't bother trying to do the math, let me.... 372.00 to have a little water and alcohol squirted into my ear. this place doesn't send you with a bill, doesn't even mail one to you, but what they DO do is send your bill immediately to a collections company. Classy. Even after receiving my insurance company's reconciliation showing the amount paid 5 weeks later I received a second collections letter still showing the full amount as past due. I was sick yesterday and my neighbor recommended City Doc on Lovers, instead of going to my pcp. I did not make an appointment, I just walked in the door. I filled out some paperwork and in 5 minutes, a nurse was taking care of me. She took x-rays, drew blood, gave me a diagnosis and I was out the door. When I got to this location, I had to wait about for 45 minutes while I waited to get my X-rays. This was ok. I got to look at my X-Ray. The radiologist was really nice. Then they kind of forgot to bill my insurance company, so I was mad for awhile. But in the end, it was all sorted out. read more

I needed to get pain medication for severe back pain. My regular back doctor could not get me in to see him for 5 days. I had woken up that morning and could barely get out of bed because my back hurt so badly. Herniated disk from years ago decided to act up again. My Reg doc recommended I go to the ER or Urgent care and get enough pain meds to tide me over until my appointment. I went to City Doc and was seen by a nurse practitioner ( there was no MD onsite). I explained that I had this problem 10 years ago and waiting to see my back doctor in 5 days and that I just need enough pain meds to get me through until then. She prescribed me Ultram 50 mg. for pain. I took it when I got home at 6:30 pm and felt no different than when I'd taken Advil. I slept terribly and took one more during the night. Still no pain relief. Called the office this morning and was told that Ultram is the strongest pain med that they are allowed to prescribe because they are a nursing facility. WTF? It's called " CIty DOC" not City NURSE!!! They should have said something to me before I shelled out good money for nothing. I didn't know Ultram wouldn't work for me but I assumed as with any "doctor" they would just give me something stronger. They obviously saw I was in severe pain since I could barely hobble through the door. I asked to speak to whomever was on duty today and left my number. Never got a call back. So just a warning if you are in severe pain then don't bother going there. Waste of time and money. read more
