This was one of the best experiences! We had our Sales Kickoff this week in Westport, CT, not such a fun place to be, but CityHUNT made this exceptionally awesome. Despite the freezing cold, we were running around in the street, completing all the creative tasks at hand. Human pyramids, serenading a stranger with a romantic song, dressing up like a mannequin, planking. break dancing. You name it, Team Bullshit was down for it. I was in charge of planning the activities for the kickoff, and I am SO glad I use Yelp, since this would not have been found otherwise. Brooke, our Adventure Guide was great at explaining the process, and put on an awesome show. Thank you Brooke! After the Scavenger Hunt, we went into the Minute to Win It Game Show, which proved to also be high intensity-- skittles, balloons, accidentally stabbing my colleague in the junk with a pen, all amazing. Obviously our team came out on top! I cannot wait to use cityHUNT for another day of adventure. read more

Best scavenger hunt I have ever been on. Was in NYC visiting friends. I have been on many scavenger hunts through other companies and this one crushed them. It was a blast. The staff was so friendly and we met so many other people who were on the hunt. I would recommend cityHUNt to anyone who is looking to have a great time with friends and/or wants to meet new people. Our office decided to offer this to us today during Staff Appreciation week. I received an email letting us know a little bit about it, and that it was not an individual scavenger hunt, but a team hunt. It was because of that that I opted to give it a try, because I could see it being a lot of fun with a team. I was not able to form my own team, but received an email back that I was added to a team and we were given the name, "The A-Team"... Da da da da DUN DUN DUN. We met up for about fifteen minutes to receive the instructions and learn how it would work, and soon left with our sheets and digital camera. Within minutes we were snapping photos and talking with strangers on the street. We were all laughing and having a great time. We also were being very creative in ways to fulfill the photo items needed on the list. We all were running back before the end time, and met up with another team in the elevator, which was funny, as we all crammed in together. Our team will not know if we won anything until Friday, but we are all proud of what we did together and we all expressed having such a great time doing this together. One thing I will note though, is that the last two pages of the sheet may have provided extra bonus points for those who had smart phones and facebook and twitter pages and such, and not everyone will have that. One person on our team did have a smart phone, but not a twitter page. Is it right to ding players who do not all have the same technology? Something to consider, and maybe it should be mentioned before everyone meets up that those who have smartphones should bring them. Hopefully my delayed "like," "share," and review will still count as if I had a smart phone. Also, is it possible to buy a CD of the photos from our hunt together? read more

We bought the unguided app version of the game and played in mid-town Manhattan. When using just the app you will play against your own group. In our case we had 10 people so we broke up into two teams of 5. Without a guide, how to play was super confusing going in. Even after they emailed the instruction PDF we were confused. Once we figured it out though the game kicked off. OK, this is a BIG thing to remember ... this is more of a race than a scavenger hunt. It's definitely not a riddle/puzzle game like we expected. The tasks each team had to complete were not difficult, but did require outgoing personalities. Essentially you are running around the city performing tasks that are listed in the app faster than your competing team. Tasks almost always involved pulling in unsuspecting strangers or making a scene. I'm very outgoing, as was most of my team, and we had a total blast. The other team (part of our group) had fun but it wasn't what they (or any of us) expected and they found many tasks to be ridiculous. Again though - I had a BLAST. Bottom line, when using the app anyway, is that you will love this game if you're not shy and aren't afraid to run around the city causing a scene. It's tons of fun. If you aren't into that kind of thing this is not for you. read more

We arrived early, and Chef Paul shared that he began cooking in a professional kitchen around the same age as my niece, then apprenticed under a famous chef in Paris at 15. He later became the head chef of two restaurants before opening his own culinary studio. The class focused on French cooking and included a four-course meal. I loved that it was small and intimate--just 10 people--compared to other classes I found that had 16 to 20 participants. Although we worked in groups of four to prepare each dish, Chef Paul brought everyone together where he demonstrated key steps across all the courses--techniques that many cooks get wrong--and showed us how to do them for the best results. He even provided special recipes for us to take home and ensured that each student got hands-on experience with parts of multiple dishes. It truly felt like a shared and collaborative learning experience. By the end of the three-hour class, our class of nine or ten had shared a delicious meal and great conversation. After a quick bag search, I went upstairs to the women's locker room which was cleaner than expected. Staff were nice in reminding us to lock up our stuff. As a former competitive swimmer, it was extremely difficult to do flip turns, not only because they closed half of the pool horizontally due to lifeguard staffing issues, but also because there were multiple people moving in different directions. It was busy when it first opened in the morning but then calm downed a bit and folks were able to do more lap swimming. Water was pretty clean and temperature was good; chlorine levels weren't too bad. Sounds like they close for the fall/winter so I'm hoping to come back before it gets cold.

CityHUNT was SO much fun! The activities are funny and great for team building. Our company had such a great time. The app worked great, was well organized and easy to follow. It was not until the end that our group noticed a few things that could have been better: 1. Once we all got back from the scavenger hunt, we all sat down to watch the pictures/videos submitted through the app. We thought the presentation could have been a lot better and more organized. The staff had to open each picture/video one by one on the screen - all small in the corner with a million open windows in the background. The staff also had a couple of their own personal pictures in the presentation, which was definitely avoidable had it been prepared a little better. Considering that the videos and pictures are made available as they are submitted, we would suggest organizing the media into a somewhat orderly and visually appealing presentation - maybe a slideshow with the videos and pictures mixed and sized accordingly. 2. When it was time to announce the winners, the staff announced the third place winners and their score. They failed to mention the second place winners, only mentioning a second-place score and jumping right to the first place winners without mentioning who the second place winners were. Not a big deal overall, but definitely something to be aware of for future announcements. 3. The prizes were disappointing. The first place winners (a group of 4) each received a slap-band coozie. No one else in the group received a single item. Considering it cost $120 a person to do cityHUNT, I think the entire group was confused when a $2 coozie was given only to 1st place winners. Even a t-shirt would have been nice. And then maybe give the rest of the participants a coozie. Even for promotional purposes, we suggest providing every participant with a takeaway item and overall, making the award recognition a bit more valuable to the participants/winners. So I have used CityHUNT on several occasions and each one has been an absolute blast. I am from the tri-state area and have participated in a Team Building event and the Pub-Crawl event. For the Team Building event, we were broken up into different teams. At first this was a little uncomfortable because I wasn't very close with some of the people on my team. But by the end of the hunt, I felt like I gained a group of new best friends. We were able to bond and get to know each other so well because of the things we had to do for the hunt. The other event I went on was the Pub-Crawl, which I did with a group of friends. We went around to a number of bars doing a scavenger hunt. This event was a blast because we were able to drink and have a great time, while winning prizes and drinks throughout the day. I definitely suggest using CityHUNT for your next event because they know how to make the events fun, customized and shaped around the people doing them. They were able to bring co-workers together and also provide a great time for my friends and I. read more

Grew up on Long Island and have been to New York City numerous times but decided to do something a little different to give myself a new way of seeing it. A group of friends and myself decided to give cityHUNT a call and decided to set up a midtown hunt and we had an absolute blast. Clues were very interactive and had everyone going and in a great mood. When the hunt had ended we finished up in a local restaurant and did a cocktail style "party". Food was great and for the price it was perfect especially because of the fact that beer and wine was included. (Restaurant found through cityHUNT) I would recommend cityHUNT to anyone who would like to have a blast with friends or even coworkers. It not only get everyone in a great mood but it also promoted a lot of team building which is where I think the coworkers hunt would be a great idea. All in all it is a great company and they do a great job putting all of your needs together to create one amazing day. read more

DO THIS!!! Our company decided to use CityHUNT as a fun way to celebrate our 15th anniversary. We can't say enough good this about our experience. Everyone we had contact with was amazing. The whole experience was first class, from the initial call , finding the location, helping find a restaurant as an ending location to the event itself. Brooke did a great job the day of the event. Ben planned a custom scavenger hunt for our work team and it was the highlight of our retreat! It brought out the competitiveness in some of us that we didn't even know we had! The only problem was that we didn't want to stop when the time was up! The viewing presentation afterward where we got to see everyone's photos was a perfect way to laugh and wind down after the experience. We all wear our blue cityHUNT socks with pride! Cityhunt is definitely one of the most fun events in NYC. Our team The Highline Hunters are having such a great time completing these challenges. While some are more difficult than others they are all definitely very fun. Whether it's a day out of the office just to relax or your goal is for more team-building exercises amongst co-workers this is definitely the event to participate in. Was super skeptical about doing a scavenger hunt- I mean, what are we? 10 year olds? But we explored the city, got to know the several people on our team very well, and had a bit of fun asking random strangers for favors.
