It took 2 hours, we traipsed about LIC doing funny, creative, interesting activities which were fun and helped us build our personal and professional relationships. At the end we all met at a bar and our city hunt rep showed us slides and announced the winner. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. It's missing one star because the app kept crashing and impacted our flow, which provoked unnecessary anxiety in our (ok... my) competitive hearts. This was one of the best experiences! We had our Sales Kickoff this week in Westport, CT, not such a fun place to be, but CityHUNT made this exceptionally awesome. Despite the freezing cold, we were running around in the street, completing all the creative tasks at hand. Human pyramids, serenading a stranger with a romantic song, dressing up like a mannequin, planking. break dancing. You name it, Team Bullshit was down for it. I was in charge of planning the activities for the kickoff, and I am SO glad I use Yelp, since this would not have been found otherwise. Our office decided to offer this to us today during Staff Appreciation week. I received an email letting us know a little bit about it, and that it was not an individual scavenger hunt, but a team hunt. It was because of that that I opted to give it a try, because I could see it being a lot of fun with a team. I was not able to form my own team, but received an email back that I was added to a team and we were given the name, "The A-Team"... Da da da da DUN DUN DUN. We met up for about fifteen minutes to receive the instructions and learn how it would work, and soon left with our sheets and digital camera. Within minutes we were snapping photos and talking with strangers on the street. We were all laughing and having a great time. We also were being very creative in ways to fulfill the photo items needed on the list. We all were running back before the end time, and met up with another team in the elevator, which was funny, as we all crammed in together. Our team will not know if we won anything until Friday, but we are all proud of what we did together and we all expressed having such a great time doing this together. One thing I will note though, is that the last two pages of the sheet may have provided extra bonus points for those who had smart phones and facebook and twitter pages and such, and not everyone will have that. One person on our team did have a smart phone, but not a twitter page. Is it right to ding players who do not all have the same technology? Something to consider, and maybe it should be mentioned before everyone meets up that those who have smartphones should bring them. Hopefully my delayed "like," "share," and review will still count as if I had a smart phone. Also, is it possible to buy a CD of the photos from our hunt together? read more

We bought the unguided app version of the game and played in mid-town Manhattan. When using just the app you will play against your own group. In our case we had 10 people so we broke up into two teams of 5. Without a guide, how to play was super confusing going in. Even after they emailed the instruction PDF we were confused. Once we figured it out though the game kicked off. OK, this is a BIG thing to remember ... this is more of a race than a scavenger hunt. It's definitely not a riddle/puzzle game like we expected. The tasks each team had to complete were not difficult, but did require outgoing personalities. Essentially you are running around the city performing tasks that are listed in the app faster than your competing team. Tasks almost always involved pulling in unsuspecting strangers or making a scene. I'm very outgoing, as was most of my team, and we had a total blast. The other team (part of our group) had fun but it wasn't what they (or any of us) expected and they found many tasks to be ridiculous. Again though - I had a BLAST. Bottom line, when using the app anyway, is that you will love this game if you're not shy and aren't afraid to run around the city causing a scene. It's tons of fun. If you aren't into that kind of thing this is not for you. read more
