Not only does the technology inconsistently "work"- and I say "work" loosely, but their unwillingness and inability to resolve the issues is even more frustrating. The equipment is faulty and every time we incur problems, they are quick to place blame on us as the customer, claim our WiFi is the root cause and only offer to send a technician at a full service charge. The web based part of the system is incredibly non-user friendly, setting up basic recording or alert rules is overly complex and the video monitoring system is very manual. The mobile app status consistently does not match what is actually the status at our house and the cameras are constantly going offline. The greatest pain point is dealing with their "customer service" person, Talía, who is condescending and highly unprofessional. I would NEVER recommend this service to anyone. read more

We are especially pleased with the integrated door locks and web/mobile application. It is so easy now to lock/unlock doors and arm/disarm the system to allow access to trusted workmen, or to just avoid having to juggle groceries while unlocking the door. Just the fundamental differences alone between having a local family-owned security alarm company handle my home's security system versus all those DIY alarm systems...those aren't even in the same league regarding security. ~~Starting with Jim Fogal (the President's own Father); he came to my home and walked the perimeter of it with me to evaluate my risk points. Then, we sat at my dining room table and where he personalized a security plan specific to my home...meaning we discussed what was needed/what was not needed and then he put together the blue print that would be my home's security platform. Not once was there that annoying "pushy salesman" feeling. He left my home and felt excited in knowing that I was an integral part of my securing my own home. I had not heard of Citywide alarms until last weekend when a sales rep, Bob, came to the house I just recently purchased and offered me a free home security system estimate. I was considering getting one and figured there was no harm in getting an estimate. The previous owner already had ADT equipment installed and Bob said they could use that equipment and waive the installation fee. They offered me a great deal and a monthly fee that was lower than what ADT was offering for similar service. Since I had not heard of them, I told Bob I would think about over the weekend so that I could research the company. My research revealed that these guys were a local company (I love supporting the community) who were up-and-coming in the St. Louis security scene and were receiving great buzz/reviews throughout the area. Their service/app are provided through alarms.com, a large trusted company in the home security business. Based on this knowledge and the great offer I was given, I decided to have the system installed. I called them on Monday morning and they came to install the system that night! Talk about prompt! Adam, the company president was one of the people who helped install the system. They were incredibly nice, prompt, and knowledgeable. They showed me how to work everything-- which was incredibly simple. Now I have a cellular alarm system that I can monitor/change through my phone as well as a Nest-like thermostat that can be adjusted via my smartphone and can automatically change the temperature based on my proximity to my house. She loves being able to check on things and access her homes security using her phone. She mentioned that Steve (installer) was very professional and courteous during the installation and as a mom, that was very appreciated. be very cautious when dealing with Citywide alarms , when i guess it was the owner came out to look at my job and provide me with an estimate to install some cameras and a dvr to monitor , i was very clear about what i was trying to do by having this security system installed ( trying to catch punk kids driving by the house at night or very early in the morning ) vandalizing my mailbox ,vehicles ,garage door . Twice the system he sold me and charged me for ( $1,600.00 ) has failed me . i called the owner after the first incident and he said he would have a technician come by at the end of the day ( which nobody ever did , or call ) so i had another company come over and look everthing over and kept wondering why they used the 4 cameras they did , they have zero or very little night vision or distance capabilities , he used some shitty LTS cameras that if you look up the reviews are all shitty , basically my little system ( 4 cameras and a dvr are all worthless for my application , maybe if you have a bigger job with more profitability for citywide you would be treated better but for a small little guy on a limited budget , id be real careful or knowledgeable before id deal with this jokester read more

The Citywide installation estimate was the lowest we received, but I don't feel like we've taken the cheap way out, we have exactly what we need. We got the Smartphone App which makes arming and disarming very simple without running for the door as we leave or running for the control panel when we arrive - however we do still have a control panel if we want or need to use it. On the day of installation Adam and his crew were very professional and they made sure that everyone in our office was completely comfortable with the system before they left.
