Sure, I could have installed it myself, but would I have been brave enough to drill into the brick on the front of my house and not ruin everything? Probably not. So happy that Doug (one of the owners) knows what he's doing. He took care of ordering the parts, taking care of installation, and showing us how to use the app on our phones to get the most out of the system. He didn't try to upsell us on any additional products. We used VHS a 2nd time to install a smart lock on our home. Again, Doug showed us the various options available and pointed out we should choose a color that matched our existing hardware (I would not have thought of that on my own). He took care of ordering and installed for us. He ran into a few snags removing the existing lock and then getting the new deadbolt to latch. I can only imagine if my partner and I were trying to install, we would have been freaking out. Doug handled everything in stride (he's done this a few times). We thought we could download the app can get it connected to our Smart system ourselves, but again Doug was there to help us out when we got stuck. The personal attention that they give at VHS is unmatched. Communication via email with both Doug and Sean was easy and quick. They were available even after 5pm and on the weekend to work around our schedule. Of course, you could try to do everything yourself, but they take the thinking and arguing out of the equation. That's absolutely worth it to me!

This guy comes in.....LOL...like…read more(NEO) from the MATRIX....and sat down at our main computer.....did some clicks, got up, went to the other PC...clicked some stuff, then went over to our printer...turned it off, and cut it back on.......IN 2 MINUTES, WE HAD 25 INVOICES PRINTING!!!! WTF!!!??? 19 minutes at most....YELP, and YEP, U biz with small PC issues, or home office ppl, hit these guys up! I had an associate show up at my house and offer a discount to install the system if I would become a "model home". However, it seems like that was essentially BS. I calculated the cost afterward of just buying the equipment individually and installing and it would have been less overall. Turn these people away if they show up at your door and do your research!!! I had been planning on getting a security system after recent vandalism on my street of several cars, but I regret buying Vivint now. In addition to the sketchy sales practices, I also think they up-sell their equipment. I was told the cameras were such high quality that I could zoom in and still clearly see the picture. Not true at all... even after upgrading my internet. The picture is okay, but not great or crystal clear like advertised. They also botched the install on my one camera, and it's so low that you can't see anything if a vehicle is parked in my driveway, making it useless. I was also sold a better door sensor than what was actually installed. Lastly, I was told my system would work via cellular service if my WiFi went down, which also doesn't seem to work as the whole hub just seems to disconnect without WiFi. Thankfully I haven't had to test it in a true emergency. To top it off, I asked the associate before purchasing about potential price increases in the future and was told my price for my service would not go up. Well, you probably guessed it... prices are increasing. And to make it worse, I recently purchased an Alexa Echo device, seeing that it was compatible with Vivint on the Vivint app. Well, it turns out that they discontinued their "partnership" with Alexa, but they haven't updated that throughout their app/website yet. I'm really annoyed, since that was a big reason for me purchasing the Echo. I am seriously thinking of just canceling my service with Vivint, and trying to sale off the equipment. However, apparently trying to cancel your service with them is just as difficult as everything else. Overall, I would recommend just going with another home security company. Otherwise, do your research thoroughly to ensure this is truly the company you want to be stuck with for a long, long time.

I am still paying for the over priced non functioning system. It has been an absolute nightmare dealing with this company. They will not replace or repair their equipment without you paying for the extra warranty. They will also charge you for someone to come to repair their defective equipment. Stay away

I would not recommend Hackett to my worst enemy. Our system has never functioned properly since…read moreinstallation over one year ago. Our representative has failed to find a solution to the issues he has personally acknowledged and Hackett has refused to refund us the thousands of dollars paid for the system. They continue to call for past due balances on monitoring for a system that was not being monitored. The representatives are arrogant, ignore requests and take months to respond. Service (if they answer- which is extremely rare) can literally never fix the issue. I have experienced issues with them for years now in both my homes, two family members have had their Hackett systems removed and switched companies because Hackett is terrible in all respects. Our experience with Hackett is resorting to litigation. Do not ever use Hackett.
