We called Citywide at around 10am. We were told the technician would come by around 5pm. We ended up waiting until about 6:30pm, however, he was the only one who was able to see us the same day. Because he didn't have the part on him, he came back the next day on Saturday to complete the repair. I appreciate his hard work! The charge for diagnosis is $69 dollars, but it will be waived if you go through with the repair (for comparison, Sears charges around $90 dollars for the visit, and the only other comparable option charged $75). The cost to repair our refrigerator's motor was around $200, including the parts and labor and taxes. However, if you need to fix the electronics behind your fridge, it may cost up to $400. read more

The Citywide tech did a wonderful job. When I had a leaking refridgerator shutoff valve, they got us scheduled to allow our problem to be fixed. The tech kept in touch with me, letting me know when he would get there. He made the repairs needed and then checked out the refridgerator to make sure there were no other problems. Based on our experience with Citywide Appliance Repairs, I am suspicious of the 5 star Yelp reviews of this place. In my opinion these people are incompetent and unethical. We have a 3-year-old Frigidaire sub-zero freezer in our garage. And it works fine if you unplug it for a few hours every day, but that is not the way freezer-human relationships are supposed to work, and I kept nagging Jeff to fix it but he never got around to it, so I called "the guy." Well "the guy" in this case Citywide Appliance Repairs, and he did not know what he was doing when it came to fixing my fridge. He did know what he was doing when he ripped me off for over 160 bucks. So this guy came and for a $69 diagnosis charge he said that it was probably low on Freon. He attaches this little can, about the size of a travel shave cream can, and he keeps turning the valve, but it doesn't really take any pressure from the can. Nothing happens. He closes it up and charges me $159.43. There is no change in the performance of the deep freeze. It is still cooling, but not cooling enough. So I have my husband call them and they say they will contact us the next week when the guy is in our neighborhood. He never calls. We call them a week later and the guy finally calls and says he has done all that he can do, I need to get a new freezer. This is a 3-year-old Frigidaire that I just spent one hundred and sixty dollar for them to fix and that fix did nothing. How is this in any way possible? These people are incompetent and unethical. These are really good guys. They came out at crazy hours (including weekend) in the heat/humidity multiple times to try to get a 10 year old washer working. After pouring hours into trying to fix it they determined it was shot. They didn't charge me a dime and were very apologetic. On May 22nd 2018, Brandon with Citywide Appliance Repairs came out to repair our Samsung dryer. He discovered a new heating element was needed. The bill came to 287.83, the part was 218.73. He gave a one year warranty on the part. 4 months later the dryer stopped heating again. 3 weeks ago is when it stopped, I called Citywide, spoke with a male who said he wasn't a his computer, however with my name and phone number, he would look me up and have a technician call me. Another week goes by without hearing from anyone, so I call again. This time a female answers, I tell her my issue and that I have a 1 year warranty on the part. She informs me that they no longer cover Ocala, but she would get in the touch with a technician and have them call me. The service guy told me it would cost $29.95 to come out and see what the problem was with my dishwasher. When he took it apart in 10 mins, he said the main board was shot, then handed me an invoice for $68! When asked why the extra cost, he told me that it costs $38 to take it apart. Huge rip off! Let me be honest. The owner/service tech gave us an estimate of $450 to fix our three year old refrigerator. After waiting 3 weeks for the part to arrive, we ordered the part ourselves, amazon prime, and it arrived in 24 hours and we installed it ourselves, thank you YouTube, and we fixed it for $42.00. Big difference between $450 and $42. Please do not allow yourself to be taken advantage of by this company. The owner, Mike, kept telling me that the part he ordered was on back order. When I told his sister, the office person, that I called the manufacturer and they said no parts are on back order, the owner again lied and told me it was on back order through his distributor. He then lied and told me he ordered multiples of the part from several different sources. Again, we waited and waited for three weeks. At the three week mark, I asked for a refund for the part we had "prepaid" for. The owner again lied and told me he would refund the money minus his service fee. I agreed even though he diagnosed our refrigerator on sound and did not even take it apart to verify the issue. He promised and promised to deliver a check. Then he told me he would mail one. Of course I knew it would never happen. But I wanted as much information to provide the Better Business Bureau when I fill a complaint again this scam artist. I now feel empowered by all the YouTube videos that can assist you with fixing anything! I even found a web site that can help diagnose any appliance issue and gives links to order parts and free assistance with installation and repairs you can do yourself!! Don't let this man take your money. I cannot imagine how the owner, Mike, and his sister can have any pride in themselves taking advantage of others. It is sad that they will take money from people who work hard for a living. I have kids. I take care of terminally ill people. I should not be distracted with worries about safely feeding my family while waiting on an appliance repair. I should not be distracted with financial worries while caring for others. How can these people even look at themselves in a mirror without overwhelming guilt for how disrespectful they are? How dishonest? How much shame they live with on a daily basis. read more

GAINESVILLE, FL Hey, I'm not going to tell you to use one company or another, I'm just telling you my experience with Citywide Appliance Repairs. I have a Samsung refrigerator and not many places choose to work on them anymore so my choices were slim. I read reviews on Martins and did not feel good about what was said so I chose to call Citywide. I told them that my ice maker was constantly making lots of ice, then less and less then we defrosted the frig and it would make lots of ice again, then less and less, etc. Citywide Appliance Repairs came out the next day and Mike, the repairman, mostly spoke to the other man that he brought with him (a trainee?) and eventually got around to me and informed me that Samsung has "known problems" with their ice makers - freon line runs underneath them (the frig has two) and poor design means they fail a lot. He literally opened my frig door and said "Yup, they will both need to be replaced", closed the door and said he could get the parts ordered right away and took a $400 deposit. He said the labor and parts would be $739.42 and after he left, I tried to read the carbon slip he had written up and under the "description" section I could not read, but one word, of the handwriting so I had no way of seeing exactly what he thought the problem was and what the repair was. The frig is a few years old and cost $2,300 new. We are moving, and not taking the frig, and could not justify spending that much on it so, after talking it over with my husband, I called Mike back first thing the next morning and cancelled the repair. Mike immediately offered to "knock off" another $150 but couldn't "go any lower". I honestly did not like the way he seemed to rush everything and my gut did not trust him so I did not want him back in my home nor did I want him to do the repair, so I declined. He charged me $170.00 for the trip charge and, to his credit, did refund the other $230 back to my credit card right away. Next I called Burton's Appliance, (did not tell them about Citywide's visit). They came out the next day and their repairman, David, explained that Samsung had known problems with their ice makers but showed me in detail what some possible repairs could be made. He did not talk down to me, was very knowledgeable and took the time to actually look at my frig before he made recommendations. I told both repairmen that the frig was making ice, but that it would start making less and less, then we would defrost, it would make lots of ice, then start making less and less again... David not only made a fix to my ice maker (turns out it may have only needed to be sealed up around the edges and Samsung has put out a kit to do these needed repairs. The ice maker lets in too much warm air and starts to freeze up so this repair kit seals it up and, hopefully, solves the problem. Mike from Citywide should have known about this fix, in my opinion, but never mentioned it, just said they both needed to be replaced. Burton's also fixed another problem with my frig by removing the panel covering the heating element, defrosted it, put in a new heating thermostat (he told me I could use the old one but suggested that since he was in there and it was a $12 part he offered to put in a new one and I agreed) and then he actually re-positioned the thermostat, moving it higher so it would, hopefully, cut down on the freezing problem. Our 15 yrs side by side GE fridge broke on Saturday morning, surprise.... I called Mike same day afternoon, he came with his buddy next day to find that the main controller board died. Monday they came again to install the replacement part and hopefully the fridge will run as long as it takes to shop for a new one. I called this repair company right after Christmas. They got my stove working again for about a week. Then it died again. I called Citywide again and the man said it would take over $600.00 for the part to repair it. I told the man I would just buy a new strove. I called Fridgidaire ( the manufacturer ) and they quoted me under $200 for the part. I asked them to recommend someone to fix it and they gave me the name of a certified company. I ordered the part and made another appointment with the new repair service. When the new technician saw what was done with my stove he actually took a step back. Warning, this business is a fraud and will scam you out of money. DO NOT USE. Hired to diagnose and repair the refrigerator. Took our deposit for initial service and parts to be ordered. Indicated parts were not immediately available and said 7-10 days. While waiting we looked up the part and how to replace. Part = $45, time to replace = 15 mins. He was charging us over $400. So I called and he said $180 to install broken fan was industry standard. I felt we should have informed ourselves better before we began so I reluctantly let him proceed. Asked about the part he said it was on backorder. We called GE and looked on Amazon and the part was available in lots of places. After 3 weeks and several changes to his story, we asked for a refund. He agreed to drop off a check for the part deposit but would not refund service. We followed up for over a week when we did not receive a refund each day. He then agreed to mail the check. It never showed up. Now he will not communicate and we are out $200 without him doing anything. DO NOT USE. read more
