So many issues trying to close escrow...poor communication, wrong information on paperwork, lost check...Wouldn't recommend.

Worst Escrow experience that I've ever experienced! One of worst, business experiences experienced. I unfortunately get very slow mail service sometimes, so I asked for a refund of my deposit for a cancelled escrow & instead of following my request & leaving the check so that I could pick it up at their offices, they sent it to my home. Two weeks later, still not having received the check I called to pick it up. The escrow agent who had up to that point been "normal", her name is Pat, this time went "nuts" & starting arguing with me. Thank god I kept my cool & didn't respond to her literally yelling at me over the phone & threatening to call the police on me. She went completely PSYCHO! All I asked was to have another check ready for me to pick up. I called the next day & asked for the Manager. I explained my request & the details of what occured and she gave me the look of ....yeah I know. She explained that Pat was under a lot of pressure at the time & she asked me to "please understand". No apology from her or the escrow agent Pat for her behavior. I will never use them again & I would suggest any other person with an important financial transaction to use another escrow agency. Friendly but not good at managing your information nor accountable when they make a mistake. I was also told conflicting information about my property taxes. I worked with another escrow company, Glen Oaks Escrow, in the past and that experience was a breeze. I don't recommend Citywide Escrow. read more

If she notices an issue, she will call me to let me know. That way we can fix it so we have a smooth transaction. I highly recommend her! read more

Flawless Execution... Worked with Pat & Jackie and everything was smooth as silk. This escrow company was recommended by a previous client. I was completely disappointed in them -- unprofessional ,not able to handle detail attention, unable to follow instructions, disorganized, lack of concern for privacy of my information, etc. We worked with a Kim and Michelle. Company sent forms to me in a sporadic, disorganized manner, had to complete many forms on a drop-dead basis, requiring a fax response. I have no fax so had to run around to fulfill their last minute requests. They lacked knowledge of the forms they required me to complete, especially the CA State Tax forms--Beware!! They sent my Sellers Closing Statement to the wrong address!! They had the correct information, but they cannot handle detail, so they do not double check their work. These forms had my personal information on them and info on my family trust. I don't know what other forms and documents they sent to a wrong address that should be coming to me, but I e-mailed them to get this straightened out. A/O now, no courtesy call back to say if corrected or apology for wrong address on Closing Statement. This company is really disorganized in my opinion and recommend you look elsewhere. read more

Worked with Cheryl and Peg on a recent Closing and the were AWESOME! Even when Cheryl was on Vacation Peg was there to answer all the questions and we didn't miss a beat. The most crooked escrow company ever, these people helped a real estate agent try to swindle my parents out of their home. We asked several times for the sales contract my elderly parents had signed they refused to give us copies of any signed sales contracts. Still to this date have never received a signed copy of a sales contract. Can you say elder abuse? Don't use these thieves for anything. read more
