He was patient, knowledgeable, and broke everything down clearly -- I left with an actual action plan and real confidence for the first time. No pressure. Just genuine support from people who actually want to see you succeed. I can't wait to see where this program takes me -- this is just the beginning! On my journey to a home.

I wanted to share another update on my journey with NACA--this time from the perspective of having…read moremy offer accepted. One of the biggest pieces of advice I can give is to stay consistent and organized with your documentation. This process requires a lot, but keeping everything up to date really makes a difference when things start moving quickly. What has stood out most to me is having a responsive and supportive counselor. In a process that can feel overwhelming and time-sensitive, having someone who communicates clearly and responds quickly has made things feel much more manageable. That level of support is so important, especially when you're working through tight deadlines. I know some people may find the detailed, step-by-step process a bit overwhelming, but as a first-time homebuyer, I actually find it reassuring. It feels like NACA is doing a first layer of review (almost like a built-in quality check) to make sure you're fully prepared. By the time you get to lender approval, you've already done so much of the groundwork, which helps the process feel smoother overall. That said, patience is key. This isn't a rushed process, so if you know you want to buy a home within the next 6-12 months, I highly recommend starting early. Begin organizing your finances, being mindful of your spending habits, and understanding what will be evaluated. That preparation really pays off later. I'm still learning as I move through the offer phase, but I'm looking forward to continuing this journey and sharing another update once I reach the closing stage!

HARD TO REACH BRENCH It started in a parking lot--one of…read morethose shared ones where different businesses sit next to a bank. Nothing unusual. Just another day. I saw an envelope lying on the ground between the cars. At first, I honestly thought it was trash. Something a bank customer had dropped and didn't care about. I almost ignored it and kept walking. But then something in me--my instinct--kicked in of order. I looked around. So I picked it up, thinking,Who could be this messy person I'll just throw it away later, and put it in my pocket so I can do it right away Then I went diration to the bank and got busy with my own business. And just like that--I completely forgot about the envelope. It wasn't until I was far away, already heading home, that it suddenly hit me. The envelope. And I even asked myself, "Why didn't I just throw it away at the bank?" By the time I got home, curiosity got the better of me. I opened it. Inside, I found a paper, some money, and a smaller envelope with handwritten numbers. I counted $140. But on the paper, it looked like 740 was written down. That's when my thoughts started going somewhere deeper. This might be someone's missing portion of rent money. This person could really need this. It didn't feel like trash anymore. It felt important. So I picked up the phone and called the bank. The first person I spoke to didn't take it seriously. She said something like, "It's your lucky day," almost like I had just found free money. That didn't sit right with me at all. Lucky day? No. That didn't feel right. I called again. The second person told me that someone had already come in asking about lost money. That made me pause. Because at that point, I was already far away from the bank. So now I'm thinking--how does that line up? I called a third time and asked them to contact me if anything came up. But now my mind wouldn't stop. What if they're not telling me the truth? What if someone really needs this and it never gets back to them? What if I just keep it--and it was meant for someone struggling? That didn't sit right with me either. So I made a decision. I got back in my car and drove all the way back to the bank.It wasn't convenient. It took time. It was honestly a pain in the neck after everything I had already done that day. But I walked in--and I handed the envelope over with the question if not someone claims it if I get it back. So I got the answer Someone claims it already. I made sure that's the person on the phone told me the truth...so I was confident to give it to the bank manager assistant. But not without giving me the name good it isn't a high amount but for other it is. No direct banker only call center what are only can talk to the bank. So far so good.

Well it's finally happened.... lost the wallet with EVERYTHING that you can imagine inside of it…read moreyesterday. I mean everything too. First order of ops was to cancel all plastic-like...NOW! That meant both my Navy Fed personal and business cards-among others. So I came into the only branch for miles and miles around with moms in tow. This review is strictly concerning Navy Federal and the Immaculate Reception/ Hail Mary experience I just received in there. Trust me folks when I say I'm no one special, but I sure came out feeling like the son of Jeff Bezos or Bill Gates-with some added melanin quite naturally! So the line to see a teller was practically outside the door. The presence of a Billy Dee Williams (that's a compliment by the way) looking armed security guard kind of smoothed things over, just in the event that hot tempers and hot heads would get too annoyed at what awaited them-a long, long, long line! The line was for a litany of things, ranging from the need to get a new ATM debit card like myself to any number of other issues that the client needed to have taken care of. Luckily enough, I ran across Lauren, who was for lack of a better phrase the ground traffic controller here! When she had a few seconds to breathe, she politely informed me that I could take advantage of an option within the Navy Federal app that would in turn allow her to go and print out a replacement card immediately! In less than 5 minutes I was out the door! Lauren is clearly the CSA or customer service all star of this experience. Thanks Lauren, you are the epitome of class, efficiency, and someone with a heart, and repped the NFCU brand in a top-tier performance!
