My husband tried to go to the Denison cafe to get cinnamon rolls this morning and was told they do not make them anymore. He would have to go to the Sherman Gateway cafe to get them. So, he did. He brought home 2 cinnamon rolls. They were half the size of what they used to be and tasted like they were from frozen cinnamon rolls. They were not the homemade cinnamon rolls we were used to. Makes us very sad. They lost a customer. read more

CJ's has great coffee! The people that work here are very friendly and the service is really good. BUT the food is really disgusting. I'm so sorry to have to say that. They need to serve the same food as CJ's lettuce indulge in Denison. What a shame to have great coffee and wonderful folks and food that literally sucks. I ordered a salad with chicken in it, there was hardly any chicken and the rest of the salad seemed so unhealthy and old and gross. Again, I do not want to disparage this place but when I go to a restaurant and the food is this bad, I feel that I need to say something. It took me so long to try this place, and I regret not visiting sooner. CJ's not only has amazing coffee, but amazing food as well... which I've found is a rare combination for these types of cafe's. My all-time favorite menu item is the chicken avocado toast, I return regularly for that item specifically. They also have AMAZING chocolate cake pops. CJs is a local gem. I absolutely fell in love with this coffee house while I was living in north Texas. The building itself is unassuming, with ample parking. Pre-Covid it was such a great spot to hang out, do some work in a sweet, welcoming spot, and to enjoy a delicious cup of coffee. Their espresso is delicious. I am a critic of espresso and absolutely loved sipping a few shots - either hot or over ice. The drip coffee is strong and tasty. The cinnamon rolls are OUT OF THIS WORLD and are worth every penny. You might think you're going to share, but you're not. Just, stop pretending and each of you order one. Highly recommend the chicken salad with their honey mustard dressing. The bread they serve with your salad is some of the best home baked stuff I've had in a while. My husband and I really miss CJs. We made it a point to come here as often as possible once Covid hit, and we were so grateful they stayed open. 10/10 recommend CJ's if you're in the area, they have delicious food, are super polite, and serve great coffee. read more

What a disappointment on their Avocado Toast. The avocado was a smear on the toast. It was very thinly applied and you could see right through it to the toast. Called and spoke to manager Colby and was blown off about this matter. Spend your money elsewhere to get Avocado Toast. read more

Now this gem of a place is uber delish, offers a military discount and the on point WIFI! I mean, the library down the road cannot compete. Better than a chain coffee place (like you know the chain I refer to the StarMoneyChick place). Such excellent coffee and avocado toast! The lattes are smooth and not bitter. The inside is clean and a comfortable set up to meet friends. Tried this coffee spot yesterday and loved the variety of specialties but was sadly disappointed. We ordered 4 different coffees, 1 iced honey bee, 1 white mocha (snow monkey), 1 hot lavender latte, and 1 campfire latte. They all sounded delicious with great potential but all of them were WAY TOO SWEET. They all were just overpowered with syrups and sweetness, we could hardly taste the coffee or espresso. I think the coffees could be great and maybe the drips or cold brew/nitros are better. The food seemed like a popular go-to as many ordered sandwiches or lunch but we did not try it so I cannot judge. I'd come back for an iced coffee or nibbles to see if it's better. read more
