This little restaurant is an amazing hidden gem! From the helpful and friendly staff to the delicious food, my mom and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit today. Both of our meals tasted fresh and were adequately proportioned, making it a wonderfully tasty experience. I ordered the large Greek salad with blackened salmon and focaccia bread while my mom had the half order of the brisket grilled cheese and homemade chips. Sooo just walked out of this place... the woman behind the counter was so completely rude. We asked for a table for 2 and when my husband asked what is the estimated wait time, the woman snapped at him "I dont know, there are 4 people in front of you" sounding completely annoyed and bothered by her customers. My husband has eaten here before with coworkers and did mention the food was not all that great, but I thought I would judge for myself... Well I guess I wont know now since 1. There were plenty of tables open and yet there were 4 people not seated which seems like poor management. 2. The woman was super rude and I don't enjoy being snapped at during my lunch break 3. The place is open for three hours a day, closed on weekends... like seriously if you cannot handle your 15 hr week then you're in the wrong line of business. Having said that, I will spend my money elsewhere where I'm appreciated as a customer. read more

Sage is a great little lunch spot. My son said the burger was one of the best he's ever had. The brisket grilled cheese is sooo good. Even though they call it a BBQ brisket to me it tastes more like pot roast. Sage cafe is an absolute gem! Their hours are limited (only open for lunch during the week) so check before you go, but go and you'll be glad you did! The restaurant itself has cute farmhouse/eclectic vibes, very no frills. Everything here is made from scratch and is delicious! The portions are generous as well. My favorites are the homemade potato chips and tomato soup. Their desserts are amazing too! Service here is always flawless; the ladies are so friendly and attentive. Charming cafe with rustic decor located in Downtown Sherman, Texas. We were greeted immediately and taken to our table. My daughter and I, started with the Spring Rolls with Chipotle Ranch dipping sauce. They were served hot and absolutely wonderful. Chef Roberts knows what he is doing and his food is amazing. Everything is made from scratch, including the salad dressing. I chose the Caesar Salad with fresh salmon, as shown in my picture, the portion size was huge. No way I could eat all that. It was delicious. My daughter was craving chocolate, so for dessert we split a piece of Heath Cake. The cake should of been my entrée with nothing else. It was out of this world. Our waitress was friendly and top notch from start to finish. I reviewed Sage before my arrival and some complained it was expensive. I personally did not find that to be the case. You have a professional chef, with fresh food made daily from scratch. Hence, the menu is posted on the window before entry. Cute place. 1st time diners today around 1230pm. Place was at capacity, but only waiting about 5min for a 2 top. Ordered the mini crab cakes for an appetizer, and they were quite good and the sauce provided balanced them well. I had the chicken salad sandwich on wheat, and my dining partner tried the brisket grilled cheese. The portions of the full are quite hearty. You can pair the sandwiches with house made kettle chips, in house french fries, potato salad, or a fruit cup. We chose the kettle chips and fries, and the portion given was generous as well!. Food was very good, and made fresh, and even though the place was at capacity, we were served in under 30min after our appertizer. We ordered sandwiches, but there is a full menu with salads and entrees as well to try! Staff was courteous, and knowledgeable, decor is eclectic but clean and updated, and although the noise level is high, it wasn't unbearable. All in all, I'd say it's just what Sherman needs more of. Good, simple plates, quality ingredients, made to order, and modern. We will for SURE be back!!! I loved SAGE! read more

, My husband and I eat here about once a week. The food is very good and the waitresses are exceptional, they are attentive as well as being very sweet. Unfortunately I did not have a good visit on 2 March, I ordered a burger, first time ever there, I asked for no pink in the burger. When it arrived it looked so good I took a bite and it made me ill because it was very red and look like some blood to, I called Shelly over and asked her to have them cook the burger a little longer. I was not upset and she was very apologetic and took the burger back, she brought me the burger again and this time before biting into it I cut it and sure enough it was pink again. I asked Shelly to have them cook it longer and again she apologized and I explained it was no worries I would wait no problem, it took a long time this time to receive the burger back which was OK it was cooked correctly and I was happy even though I could tell whoever prepared it must have been upset because it looked nothing like the first burger, there was a half a slice of cheese and it was just thrown together. I did not complain I ate the burger and it was good. When I received the bill there was a charge of five dollars added and I wasn't aware of what it was for so I called Shelly back and she explained that she was told to add that because they had to remake the burger twice. I told her to let the owner know that we were very unhappy about the charge, not about the money about the principle of it. She offered to pay the five dollars because she felt so bad about it but of course we did not allow that. We will not be visiting for a while if ever because if you order food and they don't make it to your order it should not fall to the customer to pay an up charge for remaking it. We love the restaurant but will not support any establishment who blames the customer for their mistake.By the way their desserts are not presented the way they are in the photos anymore I've ordered cake twice and there was never any additional dressing made t read more

Tried out Sage Cafe for lunch for the first time. I ordered the Smoked turkey melt sandwich. The sandwich was delicious and plentiful. I should've ordered the half portion because that would've been plenty. The food was great and the ambience was nice. The reason I give this place three stars is because the service was subpar. Once my food was ordered and delivered, I never saw my waiter again. Maybe she saw me as a single patron and thought her tip was not gonna be very big compared to the larger tables. Needless to say, I never got a single refill on my drink, which sat empty for a long period of time. When I was ready to get my check, I had to flag her down because she never looked over at my table. So here you go, excellent food and not so excellent service. read more

Great cafe in the heart of downtown Sherman! Was out with my mother looking for a local spot to eat and the reviews don't lie! The smoked chicken quesadillas are AMAZING! Just the right amount of flavor. The salsa was a hair bland for my taste, but mom loved it. We also split the cheese curds and they are really good with the chipotle ranch!!
