Classic American style diner! Booth and counter service. Friendly staff and a good selection of breakfast option. Had the Farmer's Skillet w/ biscuits. Rolled me out full, and with no complaints! Biscuits were warm and not dry so that was great w/ apple butter. Eggs were not over done and the rest is a meaty blur. Plenty of local regulars were there getting in the morning started. We love to have breakfast or lunch at Nick's! It's exactly what you would expect from a small town diner. The staff is friendly and the food is yummy. They updated the inside a few years ago and it's got white subway tile and a modern feel to it. It's a great vibe and one of my favorite things about Nick's. We feel at home and comfy there. This place is busy for weekend breakfast service. Be prepared to wait a little bit! It's a very popular local breakfast spot! read more

We stopped in today at 1pm. Waited by the door and a waitress behind the counter told us to sit in the second booth. This booth is in plain site of all staff, and we thought it would be great. Waitresses walked by many times and one finally said hello on her way by, the second time by she said she would get us menus, third time by she brought the menus and took our drink order. Fourth time by she brought drinks. 23 minutes later we did not see another waitress so we left $6 on the table for the drinks and walked out. There were 5 waitresses at the counter the whole time just chatting with other customers and they could see us in plain site. NEVER again will we visit this place. read more

Wow... there was a line on Saturday morning at 10:00 am. We had to wait for about 15 to 20 minutes but it was well worth it. The restaurant was super clean and service was extremely friendly and attentive. The portion sizes are enough to satisfy a teenage boy appetite. Hubby and I both left 1/2 our meals on the plate, we were so full. Next time we are in town, we will stop by and try something for lunch. Breakfast was a WIN! The wife and I were in town for an event at Grayson College the night before. Our niece recommended Nick's as a good place for breakfast. We agreed to meet at 10am. We showed up at 9:40 and the parking lot was packed. We go in and there is a wait - no big deal as we were early. We were seated in about 15 mins - not bad considering how packed the place was and the long line behind us. Sorry but I didn't get any pics, but the food was great. I had the biscuits w/ sausage gravy and cheese. Dang good. And a lot of food. The wife had their cinnamon French toast and it was so good - I stole a bite. The niece and her b/f had pancakes and by the looks of empty plates, they enjoyed as well. Portions are big - at least for us. Prices reasonable - all in w/o tip-$67.00. Service was outstanding - as busy as they were, we had our food w/in 10 mins of putting order in. Definitely worth the wait if you don't mind waiting. If you do, there's a Whataburger across the street. read more

First the people here are sooo good and nice. They truly care about the people that come into the the location. The prices and the food are well worth the time to stop in. I had breakfast both times there and nothing but greatness. My friend's wife had the burger melt and it was delicious. The Texas toast for it was off the chart! What a neat little family restaurant. Sunday morning and they have a few folks waiting. However the wait was not long to get a table. The wait for an order taker to come to our table was almost as long as the wait to be seated. She did a great job taking the order. The next time we saw her was when we were done. She never checked on us a single time. We even had our coffee filled by two different waitresses. Is this a staff failure or a management/training issue? The food came out reasonably quickly. My eggs, over medium, were perfectly prepared. That "loaf" of hash browns was twice what I'm accustomed to getting at other places. My wife got pancakes. They were plate sized, thick and really good. Would I come back here if I lived here? Absolutely. I'd just want a different waiter. read more

Typical have to wait 15-20 minutes but it is well worth it!! Staff is always friendly. ALL of the waiters come by to take care of you. Price is good for portions and taste. Food is severed within 10 minutes of ordering usually and the specialty orders are correct each time. We have gotten to go and dine in orders or breakfast and lunch and ALWAYS have a good experience. Most of the soups are great too!! Will definitely be back and have taken others with us to introduce them to a local favorite spot that is clean and down home feeling!! read more

Best breakfast in town! The eggs are always perfect and fresh and delicious. Go on Tex mex day and get the best quesadilla ever! All the servers are so friendly and nice. We had the most wonderful server take care of us while we were here. A large group with kids of all ages and she did a great job and was very patient with the kids. Please do not open carry, signage on inner door, concealed carry is welcomed. Extra crispy hash browns are amazing, plenty of variety on the menu. Inside is spotless and well kept. Ordered 1 serving of onion ring & 1 serving of French fries. Drinks, soda & 1 milk... 35 mins later. Counted 9 onion rings & counted around 18/20 fries. $11.84! Onion rings, I've had better @ numerous restaurants & fries, well it's a fried sliced potatoe, so what. Way, way overpriced, service slow. Showed up with a$20, left with less than $10.
