I am so happy with my custom Clad home sectional! After months of deliberation and many visits to the showroom I decided on the fabric and size with the help of Eve.She was patient and walked me through the whole process, then sent me a detailed sketch and waited for my approval so I would be at ease with my purchase. The website is one of the most comprehensive and easy to navigate sites I've seen, especially being able to customize everything about the couch. The turnaround time is impressive for a fully custom couch. The best thing of all, they are employing angelenos and manufacture in Los Angeles. It's been 3 months since it was delivered and has cleaned up to perfection when I've had to spot clean,all their fabrics are Performance blends. There was a slight delay due to supply chain issues but I still had it delivered in just over three months from my order date. This a great place for home accessories. A little quaint store on melrose by the 101 and lacc. Customer service is great, store is clean, only bummer is there are no returns, only store credit. I bout about $375 worth of stuff, but would have spent over $1000 or more if I had the ability to return things. read more

Clad Home is amazing. I received my sofa yesterday and it is the literally the most beautiful sofa I've ever laid eyes on. The craftsmanship and the quality is what you expect from a custom sofa. I so appreciate the level of customer service and support provided throughout the process. They took the time to walk me through the fabrics and patiently answered my millions of questions. As I sit down to write this review, I'm struggling to come up with the words to describe just how OVER-THE-MOON I am with the purchase of my new sofa. Living in Ohio, I was a little nervous about ordering a couch from across the country. I found myself wondering, will it be as comfortable as I'm hoping? Will I like the color that I choose? Will I be able to communicate with Clad Home easily? The answer to all of these questions is a resounding YES! I purchased the Selma couch a couple months ago, knowing full-well that we are in the middle of a pandemic and that any custom created piece of furniture would take a while. After I made my selections online, I was sent the specs and was asked to confirm that everything looked correct. I really appreciated this step because it allowed me to double check my measurements, and make any adjustments if necessary. A few weeks after purchasing, there was a slight delay in the production process (no fault of Clad Home) and as soon as they were aware of the delay they were able to communicate it with me with their sincerest of apologies. Fast forward to a couple weeks ago when my couch was delivered, and immediately upon arrival I found myself sitting, laying, and later sleeping on the. most. comfortable. couch. EVER. And did I mention how beautiful it is? I wish every room in my house had the need/space for a couch because if they did, I would place one of these epic pieces in each of them. And if that wasn't enough, each time I spoke on the phone with the lovely Eve, I felt as though I was talking to a woman who was on 'my side' (if that makes sense?). She is not only up front and communicative, she is also sweet and relatable (very different than what you'd expect from such an upscale shop as this). We recently received our sofa from CH and couldn't be happier with the result. I was incredibly impressed by how well they manage the design and purchase process and the amount of touch points to the client to make sure they approve of the color and feel of the material, the size, etc. They sent us packets of leather swatches to choose from and a full PDF of exactly what the sofa was going to look like. Once we approved each step, the process moved forward and they patiently answered all of my questions along the way. They sent us the shipping information when the sofa left their location and we were able to see it make its way to Vermont. The shipper was excellent. They arrived and unloaded the sofa and set it up for us, they were pleasant and safe (masked etc) and knew what they were doing. I ordered a $2000 custom dining table - laminate top with wood veneer side over a metal base from Clad Home, and the experience could not have been worse. The employees were arrogant and unaccommodating as well as the owner, who basically refused to address any of my concerns after taking my money. The laminate edge of the table top is already chipping when I received it. It also had a dent on the top. The table was thinner than the specified size. I believe the laminate problems were caused by the fact that they made a mistake making the order (initially entire top was laminate when I specified the edge to be a wood veneer). I suspect that instead of making a new table top to install the wood veneer sides correctly, they just modified the wrong table top to rip out the laminate side and replace it with a wood veneer side. In doing so, they damaged the laminate top. When I emailed the owner the day I received the table with photos of the quality problems, all she said was, "sorry you're not happy with our product" without any desire to address the issue. I couldn't return it and couldn't get Clad Home to fix the problem. Since the base is an expensive custom metal base, I have little option but to order another top from her to fix the problem unless I wanted to just throw the whole thing out. The owner is now using the fact that I was willing to order another table top somehow as justification that they did nothing wrong. The fact of the matter is: 1. Their original table top was made incorrectly, which they had to fix before shipping it to me. 2. They cut corners to fix that problem instead of making a new table, causing the laminate top to be damaged. 3. They refused to acknowledge the damage when I notified them of it upon receiving the table. 4. They overcharged me on the table which was originally quoted with a glass top. They later decided they couldn't fulfill the glass top and only deducted the price by $300. The glass top was quoted by 5 different places for over $1000. 5. On my second order, they originally promised to deliver it with predrilled holes so I could replace the table top myself. Then they said they couldn't do it and tried to charge me another fee for the delivery guys to drill the holes. This was the last straw. After countless back & forth trying to be an accommodating customer, I refused to be further nickel and dimed. This was when the owner decided to cancel my order. She didn't do it out of good will to provide me a refund. She is essentially leaving me with her poor quality table and refusing to make a replacement even if I paid her. After $2000 and months of unpleasant back and forth with Clad Home, I'm now left with a table that is worse than IKEA quality. I know the owner will respond to this review with her own view of the situation, but the bottom line is - the table came chipped and dented and is thinner than specified (all documented w/ photos to owner on the same day). There should be no dispute about that and the fact that they've refused to address these problems. If you want to do business with this company, just know that you're doing so at your own risk. EDIT: Response to Owner's response Notice how this owner refuses to address the dents and chips documented in my photos. Why would a responsible custom furniture maker who takes pride in their work not respond first and foremost to the product itself? Also, I did NOT refuse the glass top as claimed by the owner. It was they who came back weeks after I placed the order notifying that they can't ship the glass top, so they advised me to go with a laminate top and get clear glass locally (as backpainted glass costs almost as much as the table everywhere I researched). The white laminate came with dents and chips. It is rather ludicrous for them to claim that my review which contains photo documentation of the poorly made table "fabricated." How many other glowing reviews Clad Home has is irrelevant to my case. EVERY business could end up with a few unhappy customers. What differentiates a good business from a bad one is HOW it handles those unhappy situations. My review, along with the owner's response, may shed light on how this one handles customers should something go wrong. read more

A few days ago I received delivery of my brand new, custom made Catalina sectional! I was looking for a new couch so I did a local search on Google, found Clad Home on Melrose. The website is very interactive. So many designs and styles to pick from, colors, fabrics and types of feet. I got to design the perfect sectional configuration for my space and it was fun. First their customer service was second to none. They were very courteous and helped us find the exact couch for our needs. So, I had a very strange experience here. First off, I am a stylist/set designer and I own boutique that sells clothes, jewelry, accessories and a bit of home. I have been on a hunt for a new couch when I came across Clad. I loved the styles and was so happy they were mad here in LA, not to mention the totally reasonable prices. I looked at all the styles onilne and made my decision about which couch I wanted. I was kinda stuck on color, because I have two dogs, but I really wanted white or cream to lighten up my kinda dark Spanish style home. I decided to go into their retail store to look at fabric swatches in person and get some advice from their sales person. I explained my situation showed her the two fabrics I was vacillating between. I started to take out my phone and show her a picture of my living room to get her take, when she abruptly stopped me and explained that she could not give out free interior decorating consultations. She explained that her boss was an interior decorator and that if I needed design consultation than I would need to pay her fee. First off, I don't believe expecting your sales persons help in decision making on color is at all soliciting design consultation for free. When a customer comes into my store, I don't charge her a styling fee to help her pick out a dress and give my opinion on what looks good, nor do I charge a fee to help her pick out pillows that might compliment her couch. I would expect simple service like this from any furniture store I walked into. Even Pottery Barn. At some point you will need to decide if you are a retail store or a design agency. And if you are a design agency, do not have your office set up as a retail store that people can visit and shop at. If you are a store, you must provide basic customer service, which includes consulting your customers on fabric. I walked out of the store disappointed, offended and without a couch, that I very much wanted and intended to purchase that day. read more

Needing a custom couch given that the one I wanted didn't come in the fabric I wanted and the UK vendor just launched in the US and wouldn't agree to use custom fabric, I remembered Clad Home from my perusing Emily Henderson's mentioning of CH in several posts. Working with them was a breeze, and they made all the custom adjustments I wanted to a similar model they offered ( I sent them the specs from the UK 70's inspired Milo Baughman-y sofa). Their customer service was great, and most importantly, the couch arrived and was just what I envisioned. CH totally delivered and I'm so grateful. I am a Los Angeles based interior designer and I use Clad for most of my custom pieces. First of all, their prices are comparable to my upholsterer but more importantly the quality of their work is excellent. The biggest perk for me personally is that by having Clad make my pieces most of the headache of making custom furniture is taken out of the equation. I give them an inspiration photo, tell them the dimensions and within a few days they give me a diagram with complete specs. Also being able to supply my own fabric is huge. There are only a few other stores in Los Angeles that offer that. To date Clad has made me 2 sectionals, a sofa, a chaise lounge, and an ottoman. All of the pieces are absolutely beautiful! And as an acknowledgment to how good their customer service is, on one of the sofas they made for me the dimensions were a slightly off and Clad was quick to resolve the issue by remaking the cushions. We received our white bench a month ago with black marks ALL over it. It was clear that it was not only the delivery company because of the fingerprints but another issue since all of the buttons were also black. It took about 5 phone calls to get someone on the phone and have them agree to clean it. Once it was "cleaned" the stains were still there and the buttons started to rust. They tell me we signed a contract saying in case of damage we are responsible. My client is extremely upset and they refuse to pick up the bench and refund us any money. We are now out the money of the bench + fabric and the money it is going to cost us to buy a new one. Will not be ordering from them ever again. read more

Ordering a sofa that you've never seen in person is definitely a risky move. The ordering process was super smooth as well as the delivery. For a custom sofa with the exact dimensions you need at these prices, why would anyone go to pottery barn or restoration hardware? And it's made in the USA which is awesome! I got the Benton sofa with one cushion seat in a tan leather and it's beautiful, soft, and very comfortable. Since it just arrived the only thing I can't attest to is whether is will wear well in terms of the leather and cushion materials, but given my satisfaction so far I have high hopes. Only other negative would be long lead time, but that's standard for a custom piece and worth the wait. read more

Hands down one of the best purchasing experiences I've ever had. They can make your furniture to basically any specification you like, with a huge selection of fabric and multiple cushion options. A huge bonus is that they are locally made in downtown LA! We almost bought a West Elm piece, but many people warned us about quality and durability. We are so glad we went local. Hudson was incredibly helpful in working with our ideas and requirements. Communication was great, the price was incredibly reasonable for how large our sectional is and how many customizations we asked for.
