When you walk in first you sanitize your hands, fill out a questionnaire regarding covid-19 symptoms and recent exposure along with your information for contact tracing purposes. Then your temperature is taken and you're led to a seat which were appropriately distanced from the others. There's also plexi glass between you and the nail technician. I can not stress how upset I am about my recent experiences the last 3 weeks! I will NEVER return. 1. Week of 2/8 I came in for an acrylic set, I was cut so badly by one of the technicians here, she had just cut the woman before me. I thought maybe she's having a bad day because she had been really great in my prior visits. 2. I came in on 2/17 because the nails started coming off and up. In less than a week! On this visit she starts doing gel and I'm like no, I have acrylics on. Once she realizes, she says its ok, and proceeds to do gel over the acrylics set that I had on. 3. Y'all! Today 2/24 I am back because one nail cracked out of nowhere. I didn't hit it, I'm not doing anything strenuous! I am so pissed. You have to check these pics out of what I left the nail salon with. As she was wrapping up, I stopped her and said these are not the same length or shape, she files down with a nail file compares my right index finger to my left... it looks like she got it right from where I was sitting. I hate to write a 3 star review during these times but I didn't have a great experience here. I'm very surprised, because I decided to come here based on the positive reviews I've read on Yelp. The manicurist I had was very rough when removing my cuticles, to the point where I winced multiple times and asked her politely to be gentler. She ignored me and ended up making my pinky finger bleed. It's still sore to the touch days later. In addition, my polish started chipping by the next morning. It's possible I caught her on an off day, but I'm not sure I'd come back based on this experience. Despite this, I think they're doing a good job with COVID precautions. They're taking temperatures, employees are wearing masks, and there's dividers between each manicurist and customer. read more

Initial Walk-In: Checked temperature and gave hand sanitizer prior before picking up nail polish. Escorted you to a clean chair with every other one occupied to give social distance. I felt like they were very well organized. There are shields on each station. Hooks to place your purse, avoiding the ground or chair. They again sanitized your hands before working on them. Advise against going here. Helicopter, hovering owner/manager watched me and the nail tech like a hawk for the majority of the time. Felt extremely uncomfortable. She would stand over the nail tech or position herself behind us to watch me. At one point I looked over and she was holding her phone up as if taking a picture of me. Once caught she got up and never came back to watch me despite doing it for over an hour. I later confronted her to which she overreacted and tried to make herself the victim. Not sure if this was the case of a micromanager, racism (I'm Latina) or both. Immediately after paying, the manager or owner (she would not confirm) chased me down outside to ask me how much I had written down for tip. I said $7.00 and her response was "only 7 dollars?!" I said "only 7 dollars?" and reminded her that $7.00 is 20% and a fair tip. In hindsight it was a generous tip given what I realized later. Tried to charged me $10 extra dollars to use 5 different nail colors, one on each nail (which is the same amount of product across 5 polishes vs 1). Nail tech did a nice shape for me which I appreciated. I realized after leaving and heading into the sun that the nail tech removed the color from the ends of my nails when she filed my nails after drying gel, thus making them look worn down already, just moments from getting them done. She also missed the sides of some nails. I will never return there and cannot believe the experience I had. No one should ever be treated as a criminal for asking for a color to be changed on 2 nails after the initial coat was applied, for having tanned skin, tipping 20%, or speaking up on a job NOT well done. Shop was aesthetically appealing & empty for a Sunday (I wonder why) but would not say much beyond that was positive. read more

She is very rude she comes to clients and tell you that if your mani pedi take longer than 50 minutes she wants to charge more money or they won't finish the work ie like painting the nail. Besides she charges 30.00 for pedicure when everyone in the area charge 20.00 to 25.00 dollar's that is the reason she hardly have more than two clients in the salon while all salon in area are full and you have to make prior appointment to get your nail done. In beauty factory you can walk in at any time to get your nail done because the place is almost empty. After a quick errand run at Chase I saw a new shop that opened and decided to check it out. The interior of the shop is bright with a modern decor that brings a cozy vibe, so sitting at the shop was not uncomfortable at all. There were other customers sitting near me but I loved how quite and relaxing I was during my care. I was looking over the salon part of the shop and noticed that they have premium quality hair supplies. I know this because Im very interested in hair/nail brand names so I know when the shop uses upscale quality supplies or not! Most importantly, unlike other shops in Edgewater, Beauty Factory uses disposable products for all mani/pedi! (Even during the wash, they use disposable linen for the mini sink)You might think thats not eco-friendly but I really despise it when shops use something they used on someone else and say its clean because it was washed and use it on me! The owner, Angela was very sweet and attentive! She was very concerned about our comfort during the whole session time. She helped pick out my color and even offered snacks! Went in and was immediately impressed. Clean place, has happy and friendly techs, and impressive attention to detail. They were careful with the drill in removing my old gel, and my tech Lee was amazing at looking at my nails to ensure proper shape, matching lengths, and care to not cut my cuticles too much. Honestly, maybe my LA standards are low but I came away with really great nails with pleasant conversations. I also sprung for the 10 min $15 massage but I could've done without it. It was great, but she did it while my nails were being done so my muscles weren't relaxed. Short review: loved it! It was beautiful, lasted for a long time, and didn't fall with my own eyelashes. Staff is wonderful, venue is clean and comfortable. Long review for those who care: This is a two-month review. I think eyelash extension reviews are only fair at least 2 weeks after the extension because what's more important than how they look is how they fall. I used the first-timer 50% discount. It was a Korean salon. I like Korean salons because Korean salons are usually meticulous and provide good service. They first consulted me on what lashes and what lengths I want, explaining the differences, then took me to the room to get extensions. I said I usually go for natural look but I want to look like I got extensions this time. The result: you could really tell I got extensions from 100 yards. It was so glam! During the extension, the aesthetician told me she's going to add few multi-lash strands because I had some empty spots because of the extension I got 2 months ago. I said OK but I was really afraid that my lashes will fall out more if this one goes wrong. To my pleasant surprise, few days later when my first strand fell, it only fell by itself and continued to do so during the life of the extensions. In sum the place is superb. I will certainly go back and I would highly recommend this place. Note: This is place is INSIDE of another salon that I believe is a nail salon. (that might make you feel like this venue could be ghetto but it's actually very clean, modern and nicer than the other salon) It's described in the text they send you when you book but I didn't read it carefully so I struggled to find it a bit. Came in and got my appointment wrong, what is the point of making an appointment ahead of time? I had to wait which is fine, however once seated the nail tech seemed very unpleased and I had to remind her multiple times of the length and shape of nails. She did not seem to care at all, and seemed quite bothered, end result was still not what I asked for but I was getting tired of reminding her. Lovely studio! I'm never unhappy leaving here with my lash extensions. A little pricey, and sorta annoying that if I wait an extra week because the lashes still look good I have to pay more. The fact that they last that long is amazing and speaks to the quality of the service, just wish it didn't mean paying more at the next visit! Let me preface this by saying that I do not get my eyelashes done frequently; however, I do like them when I get them done. I wanted to wait a few days after I got them to leave a true review on the wear and tear of the eyelashes. (So far, so good) The lady who did my lashes took a meticulous amount of time (about an hour and 20 minutes) to glam me up. I really didn't want extremely long lashes (I had not liked a previous salon) and I had bad experiences where lashes gave me bad styes the next day. Let me tell you that they are good!! No itchiness, no burning. Not only do they have flat mink lashes (much lighter on your face) but they take the time to explain the differences and provide their expertise on what would look good. And then my friend ended up getting hers done at Claire's and after seeing how hers looked, I booked an appointment with Claire and I've gone back 4 times since. Claire is seriously so friendly and polite. I book easily through yelp and she replies fast. She also does not try to push you to get the most expensive set. She's honest about what would look best on your face / eye shape. And she seems to always know what would look best. Claire and Jenny do such a great job. I really like this place. First they help you choose the length and the curl type that will best fit your eyes. They then take you into a room that's super relaxing. If you're tired when you go, don't be surprised if you fall asleep. I really like that they use under eye gel mask and they use tape on your lower lash line to prevent glue from getting in your eyes. The time goes by quick and before you know it, you have beautiful looking lashes. When you go for the first time it's half off which is a plus! I didn't really see lashes falling out until about a few days later. If you want them to last longer I'd avoid heavy eye makeup and oils on your eyes.
