I called ahead to let them know I was running a bit late due to traffic and would arrive around 5 pm for my 4:45 pm appointment. Despite my efforts to communicate and arrive within a reasonable timeframe, the receptionist was very unhelpful and very rude. I was late for 10 min only, upon my arrival at 4:55 pm, I was told that I couldn't be accommodated because another customer had been scheduled for 5 pm. She was lying, I was there at 4:55 as I mentioned and no one had arrived after me, and it seemed very unfair that my appointment time was given to someone else. The lack of communication and customer service left me feeling very upset and very much disappointed. I believe it's important for businesses to handle these situations with professionalism and empathy. I hope that the European Wax Center can address these issues to ensure a better experience for their customers in the future. I believe that individuals like her, who are very rude, dont know how to talk to customers can tarnish the company's reputation. Starting today, I will be informing all my family and friends about this situation, and we have collectively decided to discontinue using their services. Well my first visit to this wax center was a bit disappointing! Made a reservation, on time and waited 20 full minutes before my name was called. Maybe it's my LA sensibilities but I was expecting a room that had a little more comfort such as paper covering versus lying on table pretty much unexposed...but I'm okay with it! The technician (didn't get her name) did her thing. She asked me if I had ever had a wax, I told her yes. What was the most frustrating part was the check out process? Only one person at the receptionist desk on what was a pretty busy night...no worries. Patience is a virtue! She attempted to upsell which is good. I had already decided I wanted to purchase some products. I decided to also add one of the subscription programs. Quickly went down hill from there! It took another 20+ minutes for her to try to ring it up! Instead of her calling for assistance she would stop and take care of everyone else while I'm waiting. Frustrated I told her to forget everything and just check me out! She goes "okay thank you"! Okay you're welcome! Not sure I'll return, even though I made another appointment! Always a five star experience here!! I see Karen regularly. She is the best! I have also seen Julissa and Mia, both are excellent! I get my Brazilian done here. The facility is really clean and you never have to wait to be called for your appointment. This place used to be so easy and had overall great experience tell me how they kept me on hold 6 minutes and I tried calling back and they put me on hold again for even longer. I've been there I've seen the front desk receptionist scrolling her phone so I know she's not busy. what could they possibly be doing if not their job and picking up the phone?! This is RIDICULOUS. I've been a European wax center customer for about 2+ years now and although I've tried the jersey city location and clifton location, this location has been by far the best one. It's definitely not the closest one to me but because of their great customer service and friendliness I don't mind taking the drive. I've probably had my underarms wax by ALL the girls here, there has not been anyone yet to do a bad job that whenever I make an appointment If Jaime isn't available I don't mind having someone else do my underarms. I also highly suggest Jaime or Vicky if you plan on doing a Brazilian, they're great ! They always somehow squeeze me in, I'm always moving my appointments last minute, and they don't get upset instead they're very accommodating. The facility and bathrooms are very clean and there's plenty of parking. If you plan on getting any type of service more than once I definitely suggest getting a package. I have the unlimited underarms and 12 Brazilian sessions and I LOVE IT. Definitely look forward to my next appointment. read more

I made my appt 2 weeks ago - 1st time making appointment in this location - they canceled my appointment twice ! 1st they claimed to be short staff - I accommodated them by switching times and making changes to my schedule . While on my way there they called letting me know that they will have to cancel they will be closing early ! Left my job earlier and they won't even try to accommodate me and they refused to put me in contact with a manager . While having clients in their location they preferred to cancel on a new client that had re arranged their whole schedule due to their lack of employees showing to work ! Very unprofessional ! I decided to try again to change it online and I saw julissa was available at an earlier time. So the lady on the phone obviously just didn't want to change my appt. This place is disgusting. I arrived on the 9th minute for my reservation and the woman with short dark hair told me to hold on because she was helping someone else. Then she told me it was past my reservation time because it was 7:10 instead of 7:09. I kindly asked her to see if anyone else was available and she rejected and said everyone was booked. I am a member for so long and I didnt even get a phone call to give me a heads up about my appointment and that I would have to reschedule. This place has no realistic expectation on customer service and its absolutely ridiculous that they cant even call their own customers out of common courtesy. PICK THE RIGHT esthetician!! I had Vicky for my first Brazilian Wax ever. and it was great so I thought. Wasn't as painful as I imagined and she went slow and made sure she was telling me what she was doing for every step of the way. Then the second time I went to her, she did it within 10 mins and was talking about how people aren't fast enough and how she needed to be fast to get all the clients in on time. So when I get home and looked, I was patchy! So many hairs that she missed and if I have to clean up after a wax. there is no point paying $48 dollars!! thats crazy. So 3rd visit, I asked for another girl and she was AMAZING. best wax yet. It was painful because I waited a month but her technique of waxing was completely different from Vicky and she was swift and confident, knew what she was doing. I was thoroughly impressed PLUS. I didnt have to clean up anything afterwards. She did such a great job I recommend her to everyone who is interested in getting a wax!! Her name was... Brielle.-- I called the place just to find her name so I could recommend her. cause she is A WAX GODDESS! After this wax, I was so content with the job she did, I bought a 11 session package. They can split it up into payments of 2-3-4 so I picked the 4 split and got the package. Which ends up bringing down each wax to $38 instead of $48. Great if your planning on going often! Love this place. I have been going to the Edgewater location for over 3 years. The staff is professional, courteous, fast and give the best Brazilian wax. You leave with your skin like a baby's butt. Most importantly it is the least painful wax I have found. Believe me, I have experienced them all. Even bees wax with the strips . The only con is the price. However, when I tried to be cost effective, and go some where else I ended up with ingrown hairs. This is not pretty nor comfortable. Came here on a whim yesterday and Paola was great and super sweet. Took away two stars because if you're not a regular here, do not expect to be treated nicely. I showed up 15 mins before my 11:15 appt and was asked to wait for my waxer, no biggie. 11:15 came and went, three people who showed up AFTER me went in BEFORE me. The spa was very clean, modern and there were quite a few people waiting ... I took that as a good sign. I went with a friend who is a regular and she got a $10 referral credit. Julissa was my waxer and she explained the process every step of the way. A Brazilian runs $47 regularly and I bought some serum to prevent ingrown hairs. I walked in for my appointment, announced myself twice and then was told that my regular wax therapist could not take me. (Now I should note they made up for it by assigning me to someone else). Point to make here is that the front desk was AWFUL under a stressful time with their systems being down. The front receptionists DID NOT handle it well and as a result I was overlooked/skipped for my appoimtment. VERY BAD CLIENT EXPERIENCE this time around. I have been a member of European Wax Center for many years and have tried out many of the various locations throughout NJ but I must say, this one definitely takes the trophy. Everyone from the ladies at the front desk and my wax specialist, I am more than satisfied. I am a very hard critic and not easy to please so it takes a lot for me to say this. First, the ladies at the counter are Always Soo courteous, helpful, &.pleasant (unlike most of the other European centers). Next, my wax specialist Hanna is unbelievably talented and sweet. She really takes her time with each client to make sure they are 100% satisfied. I unfortunately have such awful ingrown hairs that she always takes her time to get. She was very sweet and welcoming. She also explained all the different offers in the brochure (in a professional manner). Aa Mt first visit, I got my eyebrows done by JULISSA. LOVED HER! She was very polite, explained/asked what I would like done, we had a great conversation, she was very professional, and knew what she was doing/cared for me, as a client. What a difference the right wax specialist makes! This visit I saw Cheryl and it was perfect! I usually get hot during waxing and some specialists have difficulty getting the wax to stick which only makes the experience more painful and longer for me. I gave Cheryl a quick heads up at the beginning of service and she immediately turned on the AC. She used plenty of powder to coat the waxing area to make sure the wax was applied well. She was very efficient with each application and also very quick. I really appreciate her knowledge of how to get the job done with my specific needs. This waxing experience was significantly shorter and less painful then previous experiences! I can't wait to go back to Cheryl. Of course she was also very nice and took pride in her work. The receptionists at the front were also very sweet. As soon as I walked in I was seen by the lovely Jamie. Jamie was very sweet and distracted me from the pain by holding a nice conversation during my waxing. She was gentle, took her time and gave me warnings before pulling the wax off.I totally recommended Jamie for any of the waxing services.
