My sister and I took my niece here to get here ears pierced. Back in the day this was a right of passage for young girls, so it was great to share in the experience. They sell a zillion little pieces of jewelry and nick-nacks. My niece picked out here earrings and one of the employees did a wonderful job on the piercing. This is now the famous place we bought the "Ears." Wandering around the store we quite by chance found several different styles of clip on ears anime-style on the back of a display. One look and they were bought. Bought I tell you. Not only has she gotten at least half a dozen compliments on them, a couple people even asked where to find them. Nice job Claires. read more

Big 10 for $10 window sales sign drew me in to this cheap bling @$$ store. Small store jam packed with low budget jewelery and such. A lot of cheap stuff that young women like to buy. Earrings, necklaces, socks, hairbands, etc. Great place for folks with cheap bling taste and a shallow pocketbook to shop. read more

Christmas shopping for two girls, one 7 year-old and the other aged 4. Luckily, Claire's carries a line of stuff for pre-adolescents called "Claire's Club." I found a couple sets of fun-looking age appropriate earrings for the 7 year-old, and a pair of pink nylon fairy wings for the little one. It's a small space for so much stuff, but they had the "girl stuff" I needed and I was able to pay and be on my way quickly. read more

I was just looking for some small hoop earrings. The manager was busy with a small line at the register, so he was doing what he needed to do... I get that... but I thought he was working alone until a shopper asked a man standing by the door if he worked there. He said yes. I had thought he was there with someone and waiting impatiently for them to be done shopping, that was the vibe he put out there. He helped her, barely. Then helped me, barely. This is not a place for quality jewelry. But it's a great place to get fun, disposable jewelry. It's the Forever 21 of jewelry. I recently needed a pair of gold-ish hoop earrings to go with an outfit. I was shopping with a friend. We raced up to the door just as they were trying to close and begged them to let us in. They did, and I found the perfect pair of earrings. They were less than $10!!!!!! The earrings did not make my ears turn green, or bleed. At the end of the night they felt heavy, but, they were kinda big. If i can get at least two more uses out of these earrings it will be worthwhile. I give THIS location an extra star b/c the staff also helped me pick the earrings that would give the most POW with my outfit. read more

I called Claire's, Emeryville to inquire about ear piercing for my 10 yr old daughter. I wanted to get some basic information but the store clerk on the phone, Bethany, was very rude. I asked what's the cost and she was perturbed I asked. I wanted to make my daughter's ear piercing a somewhat easy experience. As I asked Bethany another quick question, she proceeded to tell me that they are busy now and then, she hung up on me. I will not patronize this Claire's as I know the service I received on the phone was not acceptable. I will tell my friends who have daughters not to go to this Claire's. If the service was this horrible on the phone, I can imagine what it would be like if I had to bring my daughter in for the first time there. I don't have to worry about that anymore since I'm NOT going to this Claire's in Emeryville! read more

My 12 year old daughter got her ears pierced at this location today and the entire staff could not have been more helpful. My daughter was extremely anxious about getting her ears piereced and the manager, Kalee, was so reassuring and postive. In the end, my daughter went through with it and I'm certain it was due in part to the support of the employees. We felt no pressure and Kalee even said maybe she shouldn't do it since she was so nervous about it. We took our time and they were able to have 2 employees pierce her ears at the same time so she could get it over with faster. 5 other people got their ears pierced while we were there and the employees were wonderful to everyone. Thanks for making this such a great experience for a VERY anxious child. read more

I called in advance to make sure that two people would be there to ensure that piercing my 6 year old daughter's ears would be quick and easy. I came at the recommended time and there was indeed 2 people working to help. One was a young woman who worked at the cashier. She was kind and had a smile for all. The other, the manager, was the one who did the majority of the set up for the piercing. She did not smile, she did not say Hello, she barely uttered a civil word, yet alone have any sort of kindness or sensitivity towards this young girl who had gathered enough courage to get her ear's pierced for her birthday. She was one of the rudest sales people I have ever had to work with. It's sad she was the manager, because there was no one to complain to about her behavior, other than the nice cashier. I would NEVER recommend this place for an ear piercing, as long as the rude manager is your assistant. read more
