My friend got kicked out of the mall because an employee from Claire's was being racist to him, my friend just walked into Claire's to look at something at the other side of the store and this rude woman goes up to him and tells him can I help you with something in a very rude way she didn't look at me or say anything only directly to my friend. Claire's need to fire this employee and we did not stand there in silence we confronted her and left and that's when she called security on my friend and I was with him the whole time, security followed him and spoke to him only, they never said anything to me or followed me. read more

The manager kept on trying to upsell us to spend up to $72 on expensive style plus their 'rapid' healing solution. She didn't try once to accommodate us or give us discount! Five Stars all the way, from the very second I stepped into the store until the moment I left. I walked in, went right to the corner, told the employee at the cash register that I wanted my second lobe holes re-pierced because it had been years since I'd worn earrings in them and I wanted the placement slightly different than the previous holes. She told me the earrings were up front/outside and she'd meet me there. I walked over glanced at the earrings, she came right over and explained what was what and how much the different styles were. I selected yellow gold and we got started. I showed her my ID and filled out a quick form, she marked my lobes and I confirmed the placement was great. She confirmed the jewelry, then Snap! Snap! I was set. Love them! She again told gave me after care instructions but since I'm not a pre teen and have had several piercings in my life time I was good to go. Paid up! Was handed my form and after care instructions with a massive bottle of cleaner which I may or may not use, if I decide to use a different type and was on my way. Did I feel like I was 12 again? Yep! Did I love every second of it? Sure did! Did I laugh at the thought that if any of my sons friends see me sitting outside of Claries getting my ears pierced it would make for a great story? Ummm hmmm! Bottom line - I'd highly recommend stopping off here for lobe piercings. Sure, there may be some controversy now a days about piercings with a gun vs a needle but for something such as the lobe, I said screw it. I'll take my business to a high priced piercing studio for my more intricate piercings that probably no doubt need to be pierced by hand and not with a piercing gun but this place was a breeze! Service was top notch, the gal who pierced me was super friendly, sweet, knew exactly what I wanted and had great advice that made total sense when selecting the size of jewelry. I had also previously walked out of a piercing studio earlier this afternoon that I was not at all comfortable with. So, there's really something to say about the level of comfort and professionalism that I experienced on my visit here this evening. I am not easily, pleased or impressed and I was completely won over. I'll definitely be back for my other lobe piercings and wouldn't hesitate recommending this location for customers of any age. the woman who pierced my kiddos ear had no idea. she tried to pierce. the earring did not go thru she had to push it thru. meanwhile the backing fell to the floor. we have video of my husband telling her it's on the floor. She tried to put it on but her nails are obnoxiously horrible so I had to put the back on. called manager who also didn't care. $ 60 worthless. never again. don't do it. to make matters worse. They would not refund unless i returned the earrings. So I was supposed to take brand new piercings out to prove I wanted my money back. Horrible customer service. The clerks where nice and friendly, store looked clean and organized. Got my daughter's ear pierce and they sold me a "better" solution so that the piercing heels faster but I would just say buy the standard one (regular), to be honest I have not used the cleaner once to clean her ears, they seem to be healing fine with no swelling. I could not use a coupon that I received online for subscribing to Claire's for the ear piercing purchase evethough I actually bought the earrings there and the coupon did not say "not to be used for ear piercing". Whatever you do don't get any type of piercings here. My friend's daughter got her ears pierced here and it got infected and now she has a bump behind her ear. That is known as scar tissue or hypertrophic scaring so wherever you go for a piercing make sure they sterlize the materials. If the place doesnt look clean or you have a bad feeling about getting pierced there then leave. read more

I was greeted right away and given dedicated and excellent help by Victoria on selecting my earrings and also was given meticulous care as to the placement of my piercing, with her relocating the dot a few times till I was absolutely happy. I took my daughter and her friend to this store to shop. They found items they loved and decided to split the cost for the "Buy 3 Get 3 free" deal. At the register, when they were paying, one of the girls said she would like to buy a 7th item. Being so young, she didn't realize she had to clarify that it was for a separate transaction. The lady behind the counter (with the 1966 and 1967 tattoo) said she wouldn't get the discount then, to which I replied that they already had 6 items they purchased and would like to do a separate transaction for this item, and that the discount they wanted had already been applied. It was then that I was surprised by her reaction. It was as if it was an extremely difficult task to remove that item from the bag and delete it from the total, because she scowled and was very noticeably irritated (snatching item out of bag) that she was inconvenienced by the clarification, a process that literally took seconds. I was perplexed by her reaction because I found it so odd that a grown woman would lash out at young girls just learning to navigate the retail world. Quite honestly, the whole experience was so unpleasant it totally deterred us from continuing to shop there as there were some more things I was interested in purchasing for upcoming gifts. Totally uncharacteristic of other Claire's stores I've been to. I'd steer clear of this one if you want to be treated decently. read more

In October of 2015, my friend and I both decided to get our ears pierced, and while I was always told that Claire's or any place in the mall, really, is not ideal for ear piercings, I decided to go anyway, being that I had my ears pierced at Claire's (double earlobes on both sides and cartilage on the left) when I was younger. I also had my industrial and tragus pierced both done at tattoo/piercing shops by qualified piercers. The piercer told us to pick our earrings and once that was done, she had us fill out paperwork. My friend went first, and her piercing went seemingly well, despite the fact that the employee piercing our ears decided to whine to us about how tired she was and how many ears she had pierced that day. I sat down in the chair afterward, and the piercer re-sterilized. I was getting my earlobe pierced for the third time on both ears. The first piercing went fine, but when the piercer did my left ear, the gun got jammed and she kept tugging at it and fiddling with it to try and release it. She ended up having to call a more experienced piercer over, that piercer said that the gun sticks sometimes and she was able to get it off after a few tries. Additionally, my piercer admitted that she had made a mistake and grabbed the wrong earrings, but would not charge me more. Everything was fine for a day or two, then my ear started getting extremely sore and swollen. I went to a tattoo shop a few days later and the piercer there had a look at it and said that it was infected and that I should soak it in a sea salt water solution and gave me instructions on how to do it, and even offered to take a look at it if the swelling didn't go down after a few days. A few days later, my left ear was noticeably bigger than my right and was warm to the touch. The day after that, my neck became swollen, and I couldn't turn my head without being in pain, so by that point, I figured I needed to see a doctor because there was obviously something wrong. The doctor prescribed me antibiotics and additionally, he had to give me two shots of antibiotics because the infection was so bad. The doctor actually refused to let me leave the office until I took the piercing out. When I did, I was shocked and horrified to see that a piece of hair that had gotten caught inside the piercing when she had pierced it, which means that the piercer did not remove all the hair from the area, which led me to the conclusion that the hair was probably the reason the gun had jammed at the place. The worst part was though, I didn't even know if the hair belonged to me. Months later, the piercing on the right side began to act up, and although it's supposed to be healed, it was still sore to the touch, and I even had trouble when laying on that side. Randomly, it began to bleed, so I decided to take the earring out for good because it was just not worth it anymore. After removing the earring, I saw that there was scabbing in the back. My friend who got her ear pierced with me, also informed me that her piercing from Claire's became infected and she had to take hers out as well. My advice to you, to anyone really, is that if you want a piercing, regardless of where or what you want, go to a qualified piercer at a tattoo or piercing place. Also, it's obvious that piercing guns, while quick and easy, are not sanitary. If you're putting a hole in your body, needles are definitely the way to go. Claire's was an awful experience, as the employees there are not adequately trained to handle piercings. This experience put me off piercings for a long time because I was fearful, but I was recently able to overcome my fear and went back to the shop where the piercer had helped me, and got a double forward helix done. What I am trying to say is, learn from my mistake and never EVER go to Claire's for a piercing. All I got from Claire's was a massive hospital bill and a lot pain. read more

If I could give this store 0 stars, I would. I went in last night because I needed to get a gift for someone. Nobody greeted me when I walked in or while I was in the store. I made my selection and went to the register - there was no sales associate behind the register. I made eye contact with a woman near the front I think was an employee but she didn't acknowledge me. I made eye contact with her a second time and still nothing. I was obviously standing at the register to make a purchase and was trying to find someone to help but no one would. Another customer asked if I was waiting to check out and I told her I was but didn't see any sales help on the floor. She replied that she had the same problem at Macy's. The woman at the front must've overheard us because she called out to me, with a very rude tone, that she was the "only manager on the floor" and that she'd be with me when she finished piercing someone's ears. I asked her if she was the only "employee" on the floor and she said yes, again with attitude. I waited a couple more minutes and when she still wasn't finished I left my items on the counter and walked out. If you are the only employee on the sales floor on a busy Saturday night, you do NOT book ear piercings because your entire business comes to a halt if you do. If you are the only employee on the floor on a busy Saturday night and you decide to do piercings anyway, you greet your customers when they walk in; you pay attention to who needs service and you OFFER it to them without them having to ask; you are polite and attentive to your customers. I worked in retail for almost 20 years and have done everything from mop the floor to run the store and this crappy service is completely unacceptable. I will never shop your store again. Your staff needs to read Peter Glen's "It's Not My Department" and take notes. Your service was completely nonexistent. I gladly took my money elsewhere. read more

Do not let your child get pierced ears here! We had a very bad experience at this store. I took my teenage daughter there to get a second hole on each ear. They did an awful job. The holes are totally off center and very close together which of course makes it hard to wear 2 pairs of earrings. Now she has to let them close up and hopefully re do them somewhere else. They were not helpful at all when I pointed out the fact that the spacing looked off. If you wind up going here you need to make sure that they actually pierce where the markings are on the ear. Wish I had read a review of this place before going there. read more

i had my kid pierce her ears in this store 2-3days ago and the girl who helps us was amazing. She really tried to get to know my daughter on personal level and it really touched me. she explained everything in details and did an AMAZING job with the piercing. She also helped us to shop around the store, all of the girls were very nice and welcoming, but our piercer really stood out. I am a research junkie and when it came to getting my daughter's ears pierced, naturally I went online and considered all the options, from well regarded tattoo/piercing studios to the pediatrician to jewelry stores with good reputations for ear piercings. But my friends were like, "Why don't you just go to Claire's?" It seemed like it's where so many people go. My daughter likes the shop because it is super girlie and sparkly. But what ultimately sold me on this option is that for several hours most afternoons at this location, there are two employees and they can do both ears at once. This is a beautiful thing. I am convinced were this not the case, my daughter would have ended up having only one ear pierced today and not both. She was not a happy camper immediately afterwards. And she is usually the type of kid who gets over things quickly. I noticed the slightly older girl who went right after her remained completely poised post piercing. The main woman who did my daughter, marking her ears and such, was very kind. There could have been a little more info given in the store about after care. But there's a decent video on YouTube courtesy of Claire's. A warning that they do try to push the pricier gold earrings. But I had read that stainless steel is better so we went that route. Ultimately, I think the ladies here probably do more piercing than just about anyone. it's easy, convenient and you can get some crappy mall food afterwards. Woohoo. read more
