Courtney suggested the Billy the Kid burger, one of the juiciest and flavorful burgers I've had, a true dinner sized meal. Your neighborhood bar in the Gateway area. We come here quite frequently. Love the staff, drinks and the Burgers are bomb. We get the chuck wagon that also comes with ham and egg. There is something about the spices on the hamburger meat that makes it so good. I've also tried the salads and they are huge and filling, along with French toast too. We have been comming here for about 10 years, I would rate this place better but discrimination against the disabled ADA is against the law. They claim it had to do with me arguing with the bartenders but I never did and then it was a couple thing, what the hell does that mean. They 86ed us for no reason other then my husband would have been liability to them if he fell due to his handicapped disability. I asked the only Bartender we have seen as we only have been going there on a specific day for a special we eat once a month if that. Now mind you there are new owners and we met the wife Ge Ge and had no problem. But the next time we went there we were told we could not come in there anymore. OK, I asked the bartender who we love, have we ever been disrespectful to you ever. He exclaimed no baby never. I thought so. So chalk it up to be discrimination against my husband who has a rapidly debilitating illness that they did not want to deal with. Which is discrimination against a handicapped individual and that is against the law, ADA, Adults with Disabilities Act and will be reported to the DOJ, Department Of Justice, right to not be discriminated against due to a disability. And claiming somthing tha never happened. Now the one person that claimed these accusations deleted the conversation he had with my husband on Facebook because he knew that he could be liable for accusations that he could not hold up upon. So with that said we will file our complaint against this establishment and we have a case that cold end up being somthing they are not going to like. Also all of our social life was here now we have no one. So thank you calamitys for ruining our lives. See you in, we'll I think I'll keep the rest to my self. I'm not sure, if they have new manager/owner, but this is the first time in 49 years that we've lived in this area, that we decided we're going to eat more in places like Bar & Grill. We came in a little after 11:00am, and we were seated right away, and had a server gave us water & menu, and took a little more time to order, they have so many to choose from. She gave us some suggestions, no rush. The food took about 20 mins. The portions were huge! My order A Taste of Kentucky. Triple decker grilled chicken breast, lean bacon, cheese, tomato, & lettuce served on sourdough bread. It was so thick, I took my chicken out so I could put the sandwich in my mouth, and ate the seasoned well chicken one at a time. The fries were yummy, with Ranch Dressing! Hubby ordered the Made in Oregon. French dip, served with Swiss cheese, and optional sauteed onions on French Roll. He picked the coleslaw, which was runny, but the sauce had pineapple, which is a bonus! We shared everything, so I got some coleslaw, and he helped with my fries. I love the au jus! I've had some great meals and some not so great! the sausage gravy is just packaged country gravy. no sausage in it, tasted pasty. have yet to get toast that isn't dry and hard, like getting a slice of bread crouton on by plate with a dab of butter in the middle. your lucky to get a handful of fries with your burger. depends on who is cooking will depend on how good your food is. The morning cook not so great. seems since the place was sold and new owners the food portions are getting less and less. they were known for their generous portions, not so much anymore. We have found the service to be prompt, professional, and friendly. This neighborhood can be tough, and Clamity's seems to me to balance that challenge well with staff that pays attention and great food. Wow. We had the lunch special, Chicken and dumplings for 14.95. Huge portion. Reminiscent of Tad's... EXCELLENT FOOD AND SERVICE. Megan was awesome, smiles and water glass kept full. Prompt service. Worst service ever. The waitress wouldn't take our order because we ordered a beer from the bartender. So then we were forced to order from the bartender for the rest of the night. I've been here a few times. Depending on what time you go will determine your experience for sure. I've come in on a Sunday morning and sat at the bar top enjoying my breakfast. I've also come in on a Thursday night and sat in a booth and my experience was completely different. The guy wasn't rude but he was friendly either pretty straight to the point which is fine because I was there to eat anyways. The portion are fairly large and not bad on prices either. Unfortunately since the one waiter wasn't the friendliest it doesn't make me want to go out of my to eat here. I will give it another shot and hope for the lady behind the bar that was friendly is working! I'm a Gresham local and this one of my favorite "dives"! I think a lot of ppl that write these reviews weren't looking for a dive or tavern in the first place or showed up on a UFC night. I feel these reviews misrepresents the company and leave them in a negative light. If you cant pay $5 for a UFC fight, leave. If you're a whiner to needs constant reassurance from your waitress/bartender then this is def not the place for you. However, if you're a normal patron and treat people with respect and courtesy you'll get the same in return in my experience. Sure.. if you're a dick.. you'll get a dick response from this place. It's not rocket science. That being said.. My drinks are always VERY strong, the service is attentive yet allows you to chill, and the food is AWESOME. I personally come in for breakfast, clam chowder or taco salads - but the burgers are slamming as well. Oh.. and if you're a BigBuck fan - they have the HD version along with pool tables and an outdoor patio for the smokers among us. There is also a juxebox if you're into that sort of thing. read more

After eating half my meal (billy the kid burger) and put the other half into a to-go box I found hair in it. When we initially got our plates the chicken fried steak skillet looked sad and half assed and when we said something the waitress became defensive and argumentative and told us that's how it always looked. Came here on a whim. We were headed to another restaurant/bar and decided to try out this one instead since we have driven by dozens of times. Unfortunately it was a UFC fight night and there was a $5 per person door charge (didn't mind it despite not being a UFC follower). It was very very loud and dark, and also very busy. Our server was polite at first but rushed, and didn't really take the time nor did she check in to see if we needed anything. (Refills, napkins, etc) The food came out looking pretty great, my friend had a sandwich which looked delicious. Good bar food for sure. My biggest issue was the "open food" charge we each received with no explanation as to what this was or why we had this charge of $1.75 each. When I asked one of the servers what this was, she was extremely rude and standoffish and wouldn't give a straight answer. Decent food, great Long Island's, but poor service and rude and rushed servers. Probably won't be going back. read more

I am not going to say that this is a place where you can get the finest culinary experience of your life. I will, however, say that this is one damn good burger and some of the BEST dang bar food I have ever had. I have not yet ventured into their much talked about breakfast menu, but I am working my way through the rest of the menu. I have not been disappointed with anything I have ordered here. If you like watching an event with your adult beverage and meal, then this is the place for you. There are TV's everywhere. The parking lot fills up fast on a Friday night though, so car pool if you are driving. Oh, and to comment on some of the other reviews, yes, there is someone at the door who WILL check ID and will not let you go back and forth to your car. Why, you ask? Clarity does not want anyone doing drugs or any shady things in their establishment and I don't blame them. There is a smoking patio for you smokers out there so do not fret. read more

So my girls and I were looking for a good time on a Friday night. Thats what we got. We got there and ordered a couple mixed drinks that were too strong for my taste. We played pool and played a lot of music on the jukebox. The bathrooms were a little shady. They are all right over all. For a little background this was my first time here and I came with a large group for the playoffs. That being said: Pros: Love the amount of TV's EVERYWHERE so that you can see the big game no matter where you are sitting or who's big head is in front of you. Server's are very nice, and work hard. Drinks are stiff, just the way I like them. Prices are very reasonable. Cons: Don't get the biscuits and gravy. It's a very large portion for a very low price ($6.50 full plate) BUT there is very little sausage in the gravy, and it is of the thin liquidy texture, with not a whole lot of flavor. (PS I love biscuits and gravy, especially on Sunday). The biscuits themselves where pretty good though. Don't expect anything quick fast or in any kind of hurry, cause it's just not going to happen. Pay attention to your bill if you are running a tab. This could just be because of the large group but there were a few errors and then the gal ran the card for the wrong about so had to re-run. (It happens, just make sure it doesn't go un-noticed). I will be back! And I will review again :) read more

Cheap happy hour, good food and quick service. For a po dunk sports bar there's plenty of room with pool tables wrap around bar and 10 TVs. Bring a couple friends and grab a bud light for 2.25$ on happy hour. Not a bad little spot to have dinner with the lady. PASS IT UP! We were super excited to try this place out. We're new to the neighborhood and have been talking about going for months. It always seems busy and is super close to our house. We were excited about having "a spot". We decided to take advantage of the day and walk up to get an early dinner. We were greeted by a 5 dollar cover charge at 5:30 for a fight starting at 7. We stood there a few seconds looking into the empty bar neither of us interested in paying a cover for an event we weren't even aware was happening. The man collecting the cover was extremely rude. We were potential customers and got treated like sh$&! As we stood there trying to decide what to do he rudely asked "what is it you were wanting to do?" We said we just planned to get food. He then rudely told me I could leave my "box of food" with him. A box with two chocolates from the locally owned sweet shop we'd walked from. Further stating "you can't bring food into a bar". I am not required to leave anything with you. It wasn't food. I was there to purchase food from you, I had no intention of eating it in your establishment. If I had taken a split second and put it in my purse it wouldn't have been an issue but instead I got made to feel like my business was an inconvenience to you. There was absolutely no reason to be so rude. You have officially lost potential long time customers with friends in the neighborhood. There are plenty of bars just like yours within blocks sir. In fact, we walked down the street to McGillacuddy's, received fantastic service right away and are sitting at a booth with our own personal TV. No cover necessary. First off, Rhonda is the auntie I never had! Love her!! I simply adore this place. As a graveyard worker, it's hard to find places that serve an all day menu at 9am. Pros: Had the surf and turf. Steak came cooked juicy. Prawns were all hot with a great crunchy breading. Sides were a large stuffed baked potato, corn, and garlic bread. Ended up being highly stuffed for $13.95. Not a bad steak dinner I must say. Waitress was really fun. We went on Halloween night, she was dressed up and made sure we had everything we needed. Kept our drinks filled, brought out steak and hot sauces, and lemons for the shrimp. Lots of sports games on the TVs around the joint. Meh: Not a big selection in beers.
