    Shrimp tacos fab!!!
    Kim G.

This is a no atmosphere, no frills, old school type of bar/pub with really good food. In the summer, the patio is open so you can sit waterside, under umbrellas. Perfection. For my birthday, a friend took me here for a Taco Tuesday lunch. OMG, the shrimp tacos are fabulous! 3 tacos loaded with shrimp that definitely had a spice kick, but not too much that you couldn't taste the shrimp. The sauce had finely diced mango, the sweet fruit the perfect accompaniment to the spicy shrimp. Two filled me up, but they were so darn good I ate the 3rd. No regrets. Already planning on going back! Note: Taco Tuesday is only during lunch hours, not dinner. Our waitress was friendly and super efficient. We wanted cocktails to celebrate and she recommended the cocktail of the day - yes, they have one - the aperol spritz. While we may not have been in Italy, the drink was equally delicious. Inside is dark. Takes your eyes a bit to adjust - and has the requisite pool table and video games, along with several booths, and wooden tables and chairs. It was a very warm day and the AC was cranking. Thank you! Bathroom was clean, so important. Parking lot is huge, but it fills up. We got there at 11:30 and it was packed and so many people walking in. Located on Marine Drive, just east of Salty's, my only regret is that it took me so long to check out this establishment that's been a staple for years.

Still in the parking lot on the way somewhere else. Went to enjoy lunch and was left standing there waiting to be acknowledged for several minutes. I made eye contact with the worker who still acted as if I was not there. Finally she looked at us and was like yea we started talking about a table and she said seat yourself, I said we need the table cleaned off. She rolled her eyes and started making drinks for someone. We walked back to the table and by this time we just decided that "our" (people of color)money was no good there. Very bad experience and very disappointing. If I could give a negative star I would -

This place is great. Dive bar on riverfront property. Inside is great with mixed tables and some cool booths up high, so you can see the water. Patio looks heated and is right on the river. Parking is wonderful, big lot. Looks like they have a lot of specials, like a beer and a bowl (I assume soup, Chowder is on the menu), for like $8. We both got a burger, which is so big and meat tastes fresh, not frozen. And I believe was around $14-16 depending on sides, which there are many to choose from. Service can't be beat, the super friendly and fast blonde women we've seen here for years, is just the best. Chats when you'd like and is on the spot for refills and just makes it so awesome coming in, as she treats you like a good friend. I wouldn't call this a hidden gem, but, drive a bit further and get rewarded with an amazing place, like a mini vacation, but at a dive bar, haha.

Good selection of beers on top. Good happy hour. Cheap drinks and food with a good view.

Cool place with a huge patio on the Columbia River. Happy hour starts at 3pm and goes until 6pm. Cold beers and good oysters too. These ladies work super hard to please you here do best come on out while sun is shining. The patio is perfect to have a cold one and catch some rays. I had the Rueben for the first time today and it was delicious and so were the sweet potato fries m. The side salad is good with the beets and purple onions. This is my go to place now!! I love the atmosphere here too. Especially when you get to meet some of the friendly folks here who like to play pool..

I've been here several times and it's really gone downhill. Place is usually quite busy but not so much. I'm guessing it has something to do with the lotto being removed, which is never a good sign for a business. Food and drinks are okay, nothing special. The service was abysmally slow. Better to just let customers know from start that you aren't just a new server, but clearly new to serving at all. Then when you clearly forgot to place our drink order lying is not the answer. We can see and know for certain there was not some sudden rush at the bar (we can see). Not that it would matter if people came in after our drink order was in because ours would be made first. It wasn't just us, there were a few tables all waiting an excessive amount of time. Then they don't bring items out like you'd expect because they don't really know how to use trays or how to serve. I'm going to be nice to you and cut you some slack, but we almost left it took so long just for the drinks. We just wanted a little something to munch on and ordered some fries. We asked for ranch that didn't come until we were basically done. Had to ask more than once and rather than just grabbing it real quick she'd disappear for long periods of time. She'd come out with something for someone, but never a simple dish of ranch. Feels like they're going out of business.

    BLT. Yum!

What a fun little place! We met friends for dinner and drinks and had a lovely time! There's a beautiful view of the water, a large patio and a relaxed vibe! The server was stressed, probably by the size of our large group. And while she definitely let it show that she was stressed, she still did a great job! I had a Cobb salad and my wife got a BLT. They were both fantastic! For bar food they were amazing! Oh and I chose a lemon drop martini for a drink. Which was very good, except it attracted a ton of Bees. I won't be choosing that to drink bud we sit outside again. But we will definitely be back!

We decided on outdoor patio seating since the weather was nice & it was generally quieter outside. We were people watching for a bit and noticed that our fellow restaurant goers were waiting for quite a bit, but we weren't in a hurry, so it was fine. When our waiter eventually tended to us, he was incredibly friendly & apologetic, owning up to the delay being on him, but we were cool with it -poor guy was working a double shift. We started off with deep-fried okra, I ordered the fried chicken meal, & hubby ordered the burger. I got to pick the chicken pieces I wanted, so I went with 2 thighs, thinking they'd be smaller pieces, so I could maybe finish my meal. I opted for collard greens as well. The food came relatively quickly and was super-fresh. The fried okra bits were piping hot down to the last bite. They went well with the spicy aioli. We hung onto the aioli so hubby could dip his fries. My meal was so good. The chicken was incredibly tender and flavorful. The batter was just perfect and crisp. Mashed potatoes were smooth and creamy. Gravy was rich and well-seasoned. Collard greens were so tasty. The balance of textures was just perfection. I ended up having to pack up a piece of chicken because it was so much food, but I enjoyed every bite I was able to take of my meal. I appreciated their welcoming vibe & the beautiful pride balloon arch inside the restaurant. I appreciated the friendly service. I appreciated the thoughtfully and expertly made food. We started with the warm cinnamon roll, then ordered the Chicken & Waffles, Chicken & Biscuits, and the Rhubarb Pancake. Everything was good, but nothing really stood out as memorable. After trying several restaurants during our trip to Portland, this was one of the places I was most excited to visit because of all the hype. Unfortunately, it didn't quite live up to my expectations. The service was good, but it wasn't especially memorable or exceptional. Overall, I'd describe the experience as average. I wouldn't make a special trip across town or plan a vacation around eating here, but if you're already in the area, it's worth giving it a try. Everyone's taste is different, and you may end up enjoying it more than I did.

The beverages were however very nice, and I recently had the cobbler dessert and it looked amazing and tasted better. We had the coffee (Extracto, love.), I had a really good hef and my mother a very well balanced Bellini that I was very pleasantly surprised with trying. From what I saw, the lunch sounds very good and I'd be more apt to recommend folks give that a shot if they happened to be going there too. I'm not sure if I'd recommend as a must go stop. Vibe wise, the ambience is overall really nice. I think having rolled flatware, even with just upgraded napkins, would better complete the aesthetic you initially see and feel. This would also connect with the price point of the food and quality of the beverages. As a fellow server, on that note I would expect more consistent stronger visual appearance standards with servers. (Sorry guys! But some of you looked great!) Overall, I'd definitely join a friend for coffee and lunch over there in the future. Just wouldn't be my top pick for a celebratory brunch or intimate dinner with a date or friends and fam.
