Well... this "stadium" is definitely nothing like the Aloha Stadium, where I have been to maaaany a UH Football game. I definitely felt like we were sitting at a high school football game, those metal bleachers bringing back some not so fond highschool memories. There were seatbacks available for rent, but seriously, with the amount we paid to watch this UH vs Stanford game... We bought those $20 butt cushions instead. At least we can use them again and again... The football stadium is also not equipped with restrooms. There are either Porta potties, or you can walk into the baseball stadium to use the restroom there. The plus side for me was that it was sooo much easier to see the field and the action than at the Aloha Stadium though. But honestly, this will probably be the only time we come here this football season.

I appreciate the UH Manoa building a football stadium on their campus, as it should, to make access easier for their students. Unfortunately, the Clarence TC Ching (Football) Field falls short on capacity and design. Yes, I know space is limited, but come on! These seats are pricey, yet I sat cramped in my "seat" due to the fact that the gentleman next to me sat in a "man spreading" fashion. Not cool! His friend in front of me sat sideways to give himself more room. He was spilling onto the area where my feet were. I had to tuck my legs in as his backside grazed my shoes. The seats are basic stadium bench seats; some with attached padded stadium cushions with a back rest. The rows are so narrow that it makes leaving your section difficult especially if the people do not stand up. Lol I am no longer the spring chicken that went to watch football games in college. Leaving your section is a challenge. Now I know why we stood most of the game back then...body much more flexible, benches were uncomfortable & cold during fall! Standing up during the whole Is not common practice at UH. A few of the people in my row made a conscious decision to leave the row together as a group as to not disrupt the other spectators. To make matters worse, it was an early (ESPN) game and it was blazing hot at the 4:30pm kickoff. Attendees should also be careful of all the power cords on the track. Some are not covered. I witnessed numerous people tripping over a particular set of cords; young, old & the inebriated! The PA system is horrible and staticky. The "big screen" is also in a weird location and people in my section had to lean forward to watch replays. The signage is horrible. There is a claustrophobic feel as the track had constant movement and a few kids had a football game of their own going on. The area outside of the track was packed with food and alcohol vendors. Some areas were difficult to move through with the bottleneck caused by long lines of people. Btw, there are only portable facilities just outside of the gates so be prepared if you are need of restrooms before entering the stadium. I do hope the next expansion with required extrseating will not increase the crampiness. Is that a word? Unfortunately, our season opener did not go in our favor. Best of luck to Coach Chang, his staff & players in the upcoming games. Go Warriors!

Security was posted within the audience seated throughout the concert. The ac was strong. An older crowd in the audience. The row in front of us had their heads bobbing to the music. The performer had local guests sing a duet with him, had BYU choir on stage, the Honolulu symphony Orchestra plus his own band performing. Glad there were two large screens to see Josh Groban sing. Helps when large and tall people sit in front of you at the last possible moment. Felt almost like a gospel vibe to me but could be cuz I was not familiar with the majority of his songs.

It's so off and confusing to where it's at. But, it is a decent place to have most events! If it's for a concert... Like we just went to for UB40? UH DUH!!! TOTALLY % YES!!! Why? Cause you'll be able to enjoy the show and SEE IT from the seats your in rather than watch los rod it ON A JUMBO SCREEN. Plus too, there are different choices of seating. Most people love the UPPER LEVELS. Yet, the stairs are a killer! AND... NO BARS so everything is balance and grace. But if your like me who USE TO LOVE IT, but don't anymore cause you worry your legs will give... well, there's the ground floor that has bleachers of seats. The seats are so much better NOW than they were before. So, highly recommend the ground floor for those who refuses to walk up stairs. Then there's the lodges. K those are GREAT, yet, my fear is falling OVER the ledge. And the stairs you MIST WALM UP to get there too! Lol! It's been a while since I've sat in this arena for anything. I think the last time was for a concert back in 2013! LADIES OF THE 80's with the hubby. Hehehe there were so much hubbies there that night. It was unbelievable! Anywho... great place to be at for events, concerts and whatnot. But terrible place to use heels and tight clothes (if you know what I mean) Oh! Prices varies with type of events and I truly honestly believe it's absolutely RIDICULOUS sometimes. However, I get it, bills must be paid and people must be bought to make the event go smoothly! Okie dokes artichokes! Have a good one and mahalo for reading... CIAO!

Kamalehua - The Sheltering Tree unfolded like a living memory, each note carrying emotion, each lyric rooted in something deeper than words. Inside the Blaisdell Concert Hall, I felt both present and carried-- drawn into a world shaped by voice, culture, and care. And yet, there was another kind of feeling-- a definite chill that settled in, unexpected, lingering in the balcony air where I sat. It pulled me slowly out of the moment, made distance where there had been connection. So I left at intermission-- not because the performance lacked beauty, but because my body could not stay where my heart wanted to be. Still, I carry what I witnessed: fragments of song, echoes of meaning, and the reminder that even a brief encounter with art can leave something lasting behind. NOTE: BUT, my personal experience was unfortunately cut short. I was seated in the balcony (Row H, the front row), and the AC was blowing cold!!! The temperature there was extremely cold--uncomfortable. I wasn't prepared for it, which made it difficult to stay focused and fully enjoy the performance. I ended up leaving during intermission, which was disappointing given how much I was enjoying the opera itself.

My husband and I went to the Mayjah Rayjah 2013 Concert last night. We had a great time. Even…read morethough we are on the 'mature side' and didnt know any of the artists. I wanted to do something totally different for our 28th Wedding Anniversary. We sat on the over 21 side (the alcoholics side) as they were affectionately known throughout the night . We chose this side only because it had a better angle to the stage. We got there really early but didnt need to really. We were first in line at the express entrance because we bought a Groupon for the concert.. There is really no need to arrive early and line up for hours we discovered unless you really really want to sit right down the front on the cement step near the stage. There is more than ample room to put your blanket down and relax and watch the show and the stage can be seen from anywhere. We sat on the first path half way up the hill just near the sound desk and it was perfect. By the end of the night though we had a lot of people standing on the path behind us but that didnt happen until about 11.30pm. I am a watcher and I watched the ample ample amount of security guards, no one seemed to be misbehaving even on the 'alcoholics side' and everyone was having a great time dancing and singing. You cannot repeat CANNOT take in anything other than a blanket. I bought 2 stadium seat thingys with the padded seat and back attached from Walmart for $18, they were well worth it as we sat on the grass for 7 hours and hardly got a 'numb bum'...... Each bag is checked thoroughly, every zipper was open and searched. Large backpacks are not allowed in and what was allowed in were completely searched as well. The drinks were overpriced, water, sodas were $3 each but the food was reasonable. 2 Hawaiian plates, rice with salad and chicken or chili franks were $8 each so not too bad. We didnt have any alcohol so not sure of the price, but previous yelpers say it was expensive. They were selling the large cans of Bud Light and looks like mixed drinks as well. Overall it was a fantastic night. If you dont want the noisy revelers sit on the under 21 family side but if you want an alcoholic drink you cant go back over till its all gone!

Food & Drink The…read morebetter half of the world food tour duo had other plans, so I invited my sister-in-law to see Stanley Jordan. We chose a table on the upper level on the right side of the center section. This gave us good views of the stage and no one in front of us blocked our views. We ordered double Hendricks gin & tonics, a Caesar Salad, Portobello Arrabbiata, and the Jidori Coconut Basil Chicken. Interestingly, the pasta dish didn't have any portobello mushrooms; it featured pieces of Maitake mushrooms. Like before, the pasta was somewhat overcooked, but the spicy marinara sauce was fine. The chicken half came with what tasted like plain rice sitting in a coconut cream sauce. The rice was described as crispy cilantro lime rice ... I don't think so. Our biggest complaint about the chicken was that it was slightly overdone ... My leg was fine, but the breast meat was dry. We passed on dessert and I had a cup of black coffee. Food rating: 3+. The Concert I've followed Stanley Jordan for a long time and have many of his albums, starting with Magic Touch in 1985. That CD opened my ears to a different style of guitar playing. I thought I was a guitarist .... No, I'm a hack. Stanley, now 66, played his Vigier (a French guitar), another one whose name I couldn't see, and a grand piano during his 1.5-hour set. I wasn't able to check out his pedal setup. If you haven't heard him play, you are missing out on a virtuoso of improvisational jazz. Trained as a pianist, he plays with both hands, on one guitar or two. He played two songs seated at the piano and switched hands during each ... All while singing. His set included Yesterday, Eleanor Rigby, My Funny Valentine, and a couple of songs from his forthcoming album, Feather in the Wind. The Blue Note is perfectly suited for small scale / solo performances by artists like Stanley Jordan. Highly recommended! Concert rating: 5+.
