I needed to find a dentist I was comfortable with; my kids were comfortable with and that I didn't feel like I was being ripped of by seeing as there are no dental fee guidelines in Alberta yet (they are working on it). I have definitely found that here at the Heritage Dental Centre. They treated us well and I felt welcomed which is what I was looking for in a dental office - not just a patient; not just a number but someone they cared about after all they are looking after my health and well being. The hygienist took care of us and the dentist made sound suggestions for care - whether that was a filling for one child or waiting to see what happens with the other. My middle one needed wisdom teeth removed and he suggested a place to go and I had no hesitation about taking his suggestion has I was happy with his work. I will be coming back here for sure. Plenty of free parking but it was also close to the LRT for my oldest who needed to meet us here after university. Plus they took care of insurance and are open late for even more convenience. Really, what more can I - or anyone else, ask for?

After the procedure, I kept going back because something clearly wasn't right. Instead of addressing the problem, they repeatedly prescribed antibiotics and insisted nothing was wrong. Over time, I saw multiple dentists trying to get answers, but no one wanted to take responsibility or properly investigate. (created a ton of fear) I was essentially passed from one office to another with no resolution. Nearly nine years later, I finally found a dentist who took my concerns seriously and referred me to an endodontist. The specialist confirmed that the original root canal had failed they missed a canal. It had been overfilled, which caused a pocket in my jaw that repeatedly became infected. For years, I was dealing with chronic infections, with my mouth flaring up every month or so, and no one acknowledging the real cause. The dentist who performed the procedure claimed to be a specialist, but based on the outcome, the quality of work was unacceptable. This wasn't just a minor issue--it led to long-term damage and significant health complications. I've dealt with chronic inflammation, recurring infections, and even hospital visits due to blood infections that were never properly traced back to the source at the time. I paid for professional care and trusted this office, and after 4 hours in a chair and thousands later in return, I was left dealing with the consequences of a failed procedure that no one would take responsibility for. It took nearly a decade to finally get a clear diagnosis and validation of what I had been experiencing the entire time.(keep in mind I couldn't live on antibiotics either so no medication to heal it or prevent infection or I'd end up immune to them if I did) I would strongly caution others to seek second opinions and ensure they are getting proper care, because my experience here resulted in years of unnecessary pain and avoidable health issues. Also fun fact for anybody getting work done anywhere,did you know your body suffering with constant inflammation and infection, like from failed dental work, ya it could cause blood sugar issues.... Our appointment was scheduled for 10:00 a.m., but the doctor didn't see us until almost 10:30. When the doctor finally came, he only looked at my son's teeth for less than a minute and simply said that the teeth were too crooked to fix. That was it -- there are nothing to do. What's worse, they still charged us around $140 for basically doing nothing. I understand consultation fees, but this felt completely unreasonable and unprofessional. We left with no useful information at all. Very disappointing experience -- I would not recommend this clinic to anyone.

A cheapskate father and then a widowed mother pretty much ensured I would have crooked teeth for life, and then after my wisdom teeth were pulled, the problem got worse. After I was widowed, I decided to take a giant step. The first ortho I went to wouldn't let me do anything but Invisalign, which doesn't really work with my lifestyle (constant noshing and coffee drinking while working from home). I wanted real braces because we're all wearing face masks now anyway and the treatment time is shorter, but because I'd had a root canal and several crowns, she was insistent. Also, she wouldn't touch me until I had a special x-ray to determine if my TMJ/jaw arthritis was still active. Since that was $8500 for the braces and another $6000 for the x-ray (out of pocket!), I walked. I am not spending almost $15K on my teeth. I told my dentist I was considering SmileDirect, and she begged me not to, because of the real damage I could do to my bite, possible teeth falling out etc, and she spooked me. She told me to try Pure instead because they were more reasonable. I did, and paid $6200 right upfront. WAY better. I'm the only person over 40 in the entire office (including the doctors!), and the SpongeBob and Powerpuff Girls and whatnot are entertaining on the TV when I go in, but I far prefer it to my old snaggle-tooth look. I had to go in once for a very painful piece of toothbrush bristle stuck (I thought I'd busted a wire!), and I go in next month for my first tightening. No charge for that, as part of routine maintenance. If you bust or lose brackets, it's usually no sweat, unless you do it constantly. After about 5, then they have to start charging. I love looking in the mirror and seeing my really ugly protruding tooth on my bottom row has finally been tamed and is no longer going on walkabout away from all its buddies. The staff have always been really pleasant and friendly and even when there was a scheduling mix up, they did their best to accommodate my needs. Dr. Yeh has always been really good about answering any questions I might have about my teeth, procedures and what to expect. I recommend this clinic to people all the time and most of my family have seen Dr. Yeh at one point or another. An extra bonus is that they have clinics in multiple locations (Sherwood Park, Spruce Grove, UofA).
