Our first visit to Bird's Eye was about a year ago, and the atmosphere was very welcoming and friendly. Unfortunately, this year's experience was completely different. The person at the front desk should not be in a customer-facing role at all. She never smiled, appeared annoyed, and was so impatient that she wouldn't even allow me to read the documents before signing. It felt as though my presence was an inconvenience, which ultimately led me to cancel my appointment--and my wife's as well. It's disappointing to see how much the experience has deteriorated in just one year. read more

Dr Le told me that since I had ordered my glasses, (frames and lenses) from them last year all I would need is new lenses. All I would need to do is come in and order them. So I come in to order the new lenses and I'm not sure if the girls in the front are getting a kickback or what but they totally start singing a new song that they can't do that and I need to order new frames as well as lenses. So someone is lying and pulling a scam. Either the dr or his girls in the front but I would stay away from this place. The girl that is leading the scam had my frames in her hand and was reading the wrong number for the frame. Spent a good 10 mins staring at the number and looking on the computer. Finally the older lady came over and pointed out that she was reading the wrong number. Incompetence, scams and lies. read more

Bird's Eye View is a fantastic, well run operation. Office staff is friendly and knowledgeable and follow through on what they say they will do. Example: They shared with me that they would call me in 3-5 days when my contacts arrived. Then, they called me when my contacts arrived. It seems standard but I can't tell you how many businesses will drop the ball on something as simple as that. Bird's Eye does not. They also use the latest technology. They have a machine that does not require your eyes to be dilated to get the same results (for a small additional fee) which I opt for every time. Dr. Le is fantastic and personable. He takes the adequate time to explain issues specific to your eyes and does so with knowledge and empathy. I highly recommend Bird's Eye View for your optometry needs! read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!! I am new to the Houston area (since January) and decided to become a new patient here at the Tanglewood location. I came in with my 5 month old prescription Tom ford glasses that had no damage (practically new) on July 25, 2023. One of the male techs asked for my glasses to get a reading of my prescription so the optometrist could compare and use for my new glasses. After purchasing a new pair of Gucci glasses (total $608) from them, another one of the female techs brought my Tom ford glasses back folded and placed them on the table. When i picked the glasses up (in front of the sales tech), the left side of my glasses fell back on the table because it was broken (AND COULD NOT BE FIXED). The female tech who brought my glasses back acted as if I was delusional and denied breaking them - along with denying that she knew they were broken when she returned them to me. The sales tech stated there was nothing they could do. The male tech that originally took my glasses agreed that my glasses were not broken when I gave them to him. I cannot see without my glasses nor can i drive without them (I even have a restriction on the back of my licenses). After going back and forward with the three techs (the male tech who first took my glasses, the sales tech, and the tech that returned them broken), the sales tech decided to call the office manager and after going back and forward, the office manager finally agreed to give me $100 off my new glasses to compensate me for my 5 month old $600 Tom ford glasses. No accountability was taken at all and the office manager stated that they didn't even have to give me anything (even though their tech broke my $600 Tom ford glasses), and they were basically doing me a favor. They literally acted as if I was trying to get a new pair for free (which even came out of the office manager's mouth) just because - WHAT AN INSULT!?! - even after just purchasing a BRAND NEW PAIR from them for $608. I told the office manager, "If I would have broken a pair of you all's glasses while trying them on, I would be held responsible," and she replied, "No you wouldn't because we are part of a corporation and have insurance on all of our glasses." Even in the midst of this, the tech that broke my glasses continued to lie and act as if she did not know my glasses were broken when in reality she did, and was also the reason she placed my glasses folded on the table the way she did. The lack of INTEGRITY, UNPROFESSIONALISM, RESPECT, and ETHICS, I would not advise anyone to go here. I even asked them could they at least glue my glasses back together (before being offered the $100 and not making a big fuss about them breaking my glasses) because I can't go 10-14 days without them and they stated that the optometrist said that they couldn't do that. I will NEVER return. I work hard to buy myself nice things and I also take care of my things. Piss poor leadership as well. I honestly would have felt better if the tech would have taken accountability and just admit that she made a mistake and broke my glasses instead of trying to paint the picture like I am a delusional black man and the responses from the office manager. read more

Dr. Bird is amazing optometrist, very professional, kind and has the patience to explain to you every detail of what you need to know about your eye health. BUT here comes the reason of not giving her 5 stars: her office staff. What a pain is to call by phone, no manners, not a good bye, have a nice day, etc. It seems that the ladies don't want to be there. The staff needs to be trained to greet every person that comes in, smile, even if they are not planning to buy anything, staff must greet the clients, be cordial, good phone manners, etc. It's very sad because again Dr. Bird is great, I hope she takes care of this situation to make sure her patients stay with her. read more

Would give zero stars if I could. Made appointments for all 5 in my family here on different days. Mistakenly, my 2 college aged daughters showed up at 9:45 today thinking they had appointments at 10 & 10:30 when in fact only one had a 10:30am appointment and the other was scheduled 4 days from today. Upon check in this mistake was discovered. Daughter 1, who had the 10:30am appointment left to retrieve her phone at home as she had 45 mins to wait until her scheduled appointment and arrived back at 10:10 to be told they had taken daughter 2 back. She assumed this meant they were able to see them both but was told no, her sister had been taken early and in her place and they just switched their appointments. Daughter 1 nicely explained she was confused as her appointment wasn't for another 20 minutes and she will be traveling and can't make the appointment they switched her to (without asking or informing until after the fact). She was spoken to and treated VERY RUDELY by the receptionist. Finally after a phone call from me, we learned their 10am patient was late so that's why they'd taken daughter 2 back and switched appointments...and then gave daughter 1 appointment to the late arriving 10am patient. I understand not being able to see both girls but cannot understand how they had displaced an early arriving patient to accommodate a late arriving patient, nor how they just switched my two daughters without explanation or apology and then spoke so rudely. Customer service here leaves much to be desired (unless of course, you're a late arriving patient). Our experience here was disappointing to say the least. 10/10 WOULD NOT RECOMMEND read more

The Katy office is the worst group of employees I have ever encountered in over 50 years of wearing glasses. I specifically told Dr. Le that my glasses needed to be made to matchthe measurements of my old glasses. He agreed. He told the tech, Sarah, this. She agreed. I told her two more times during the fitting - she agreed. When I picked my glasses up, they were not made to those measurements. Her response to them being unwearable was, "What, you wanted them made like the old one?" YES! So - that's one remake - on the house. Completely their fault. But, the prescription was also wrong. I couldn't tell that is was wrong in the first wrong pair because they were unusable. Now - to get them remade, I am expected to pay for new lenses. The first pair was Sarah's incompetence. The second pair was DR. Le's incompetence. So - back to Visionworks. Avoid this office. They are inept. And it will be expensive for you to correct their mistakes. read more

Dr. Bird and staff are amazing! I live in town and drive all the way out to Katy (I use to live out there), to visit with Dr. Bird. She is friendly, authentic, and knowledgable. The lobby is clean, you are greeted by kind staff at the front desk, and I was seen immediately by Dr. Bird after my preliminary exams with one of her staff...you know the one that includes our favorite, the air blowing machine! Dr. Bird takes her time, every time. On my most recent visit (June 4, 2016), I decided to get new frames (I also wear contacts). Her staff was patient and knowledgable when explaining how I could best utilize my insurance benefits. Would definitely recommend Dr. Bird to others! read more

New to the area, had driven in from Austin and in major pain with bumps inside both eyes due to allergies. Was a walk-in waited almost an hour, saw Dr. Pham, told to get eye drops to assist with the issue. Did so and am waiting for relief as the contacts slice through the bumps, yikes! No follow-up was recommended. Will go back for annual eye exam and contact lens. Expedient, staff professional, office clean, stress-free. Afternoon hours not recommended, they do accept Saturday morning appointments. Not aware of the actual office visit cost. read more

Dr. Bird has been my eye dr for the past 3 years. She is extremely thorough and PATIENT! I wear glasses all the time but wanted to also get contacts. I have an astigmatism and need toric contact lenses. Dr. Bird took her time to find the right contacts for me. I went through 5 different types until we found the most comfortable ones. Dr. Bird also sees my 3 girls; ages 12, 9 and 3. She is so great with kids and my girls just adore her! read more

They use all communication formats: booked appointment on their website, confirmed via email, appt reminder by text and notification across all media when my glasses were ready for collection. Dr Bird, Brianna and Jessica were very helpful and informative without being pushy. I really appreciated their service both for the routine examination and the selection of frames. Staff also advised on a pair of sunglasses I was purchasing separately to ensure it was a tax efficient purchase. read more

Birds Eye View is the model for how any medical office should be run: Extremely friendly, helpful, upbeat, and you feel that you thoroughly understand your situation when you walk out the door. I'm no fan of most medical appointments, but I have been able to remove the trip to the optometrist as one of those. Dr. Bird is extremely knowledgeable. You feel as though you have a thorough understanding of your eye health when leaving the office. The staff that helps you choose frames and works with you up front has always been the friendliest and very helpful. Some places are just run in a culture that's positive, professional, helpful, courteous, and done the right way. Without hesitation, I think Birds Eye View is at the top of that list. If you are new to the Katy area, as we were 18 months ago, you do not need to think twice about choosing Birds Eye View as your optometrist. years ago I gave up trying to wear contact lenses. They'd correct for distance but I'd have to wear 'readers' to see close range, and forget about middle distance. Dr. Gorman at Birds Eye figured it out, with multi-focals. She is comprehensive and thorough. And funny, knowledgeable, and won't give up til she finds exactly the right correction. The office staff is very nice and helpful, especially Crystal. The office is clean, comfortable and open. Right now construction on 1093 makes it a challenge to get there, but it's worth the effort. read more

For some reason, up until recently, I had an incredible fear of optometrist appointments. The puff of air, the incredibly close staring into my eyes- just the idea made my stomach cramp. But when I was constantly missing exits due to the inability to read the street signs until on top of them, I realized it was time to conquer my fears. The dr was very nice and a very helpful woman assisted me in choosing out a pair of glasses that wouldn't make others laugh at me. The have a small kids corner with blocks and toys that my 2 year old could play with while I tried on every pair of glasses in the store. Great people, fair price, great selection.
