Amazing experience. I came here an inquired about getting laser hair removal. The person that administers the laser hair really knows her stuff especially about skin care other relates to the removal of the hair. By session 3 I was really just so happy with the results. Her machinery is much better than the ones that you go to from those franchises. I've also had Botox and Julia is the magician when it comes to fixing symmetry in your face as well as just giving you that youthful look. One other thing I really enjoyed are the facials. My favorite facial I've ever had is a hydrofacial from them but you won't be disappointed because they take your skins health and feeling very seriously. read more

If u are getting a facial you maybe ok but she half did that too this time. But my real problem is the lady that's doing the Botox. I have had Botox plenty of times but I tried this place to try a place closer. I don't even think the lady is certified the way she injects it's like she jabs the area and shake the needle. Maybe it was because I was the first appointment of the day... but I would go somewhere else more courteous, cleaner and less of a "hey let's start a spa in the basement!" vibe. Several things instantly made me cringe: - The lady treating me was 20 minutes late arriving to the office. I think I read Glamour April edition 20 times before she arrived. - The place is dirty and dingy - they didn't even turn on half the lights in the office giving it a creepy "where the hell am I?" vibe. - The staff was discourteous and the receptionist barely spoke english. I had to repeat "Mondays are no good for me" several times until I simplified with "Mondays are bad". And when the lady treating me gave different info from the receptionist on followup treatments, "hilarity" ensued. Not worth your time or money! read more

I'm a 29-year-old guy who moved to Baltimore from the Midwest last year. About a year before moving here from Michigan, I had seen my dermatologist (yet again) about the shaving irritation and ingrown hairs I would get on my neck EVERY TIME I shaved. I used to get cortisone injections into my neck to avoid the cysts from scarring. Anyway, enough about that. The doctor recommended that I have laser hair removal to avoid the problem, and I agreed. The dermatologist's office had their own on-site laser-hair-removal technician, so I met with her. She quoted me $2,000 to have my neck done. And, I agreed to it. But, didn't have the money immediately available, so I wanted to postpone it until I did. Flash forward less than a year, and around the month I moved to Baltimore, there is this Groupon for laser hair removal at Clarity. I think I paid $300 for it, which I was ecstatic about (as I saved $1,700). An additional tidbit that's important to know is that Clarity uses an Apogee Laser, which is the same type used by my dermatologist's office (and not an IPL, which I've read in reviews really do nothing). Anyways, I started getting my treatments done, every six-to-eight weeks apart, and today was my last one. On my way home, I thought I'd check to see what Clarity had been rated. And, I'm a little bit surprised at the two negative comments on here. (Not very) negatives: (1) the place is hard to find: it's actually in the basement on the side of a group of shops; (2) the mini-blinds are beat to sh!t on the door when you walk in, and the outside generally looks like food stamps; (3) the inside looks very dated, like it may have been trendy in 1991; (4) the staff is all Ukrainian and the receptionist can be a little bit difficult to understand at times, but nothing crazy. Positives: (1) I saved a boat load of money to have the obnoxious hair lasered off my neck and the results have been phenomenal; I still have a few stragglers here and there, but they're much finer and slower growing than ever before; (2) the woman who performed the lasering on me was fun to talk to: when I told her I was nervous about whether it would hurt on my first day, she told me, "If women get this done on their bikinis, a man can handle it on his neck;" (3) I have never had a problem with them answering on the first call or scheduling appointments for me. If you're looking for a really high-end day spa feel, this is not your place. It's very utilitarian. But, I saved a ton of money, got just what I wanted, and had no problems. To me, it was more than worth it. Tip: If you're getting laser hair removal performed, you want to shave the area immediately before going to the appointment: you don't want to waste any of that wonderful laser light energy hitting your stubble - the more that hits the follicle itself the better. I mention this because when I made the appointment, I had to ask whether to shave first, as I had read online that I should. read more

Why--WHY do I keep reading one-star reviews and going to places anyway thinking, "I'm nice. I'm sure I'll have a great experience!" First of all, it took me forever to find this place (it is on the side of the strip mall in the basement). Clarity Medispa doesn't make an attempt to be either medical office or spa...so don't come expecting things to be sterile, and don't come expecting relaxation either. It's down and dirty, and I do mean dirty. Dingy is a good way to describe it. I didn't think the receptionist was particularly rude, but she is extremely difficult to understand on the phone (very quiet and very thick accent). I had to ask her to repeat herself and she was not making any effort to speak up. The staff wasn't warm and fuzzy, but they did literally read from a script, and they constantly try to upsell you. There are crudely-made signs everywhere asking for tips. Good service makes me want to tip, not an envelope crookedly taped to a bathroom wall with a smiley face drawn on in highlighter. read more

I had two photofacials here using a Groupon voucher and was very disappointed. The location is in a low-end strip mall in a slightly sketchy part of town. The office is clean, but not medical-looking. The equipment seemed old. My results were very minimal improvement - not at all like the results I got from trying the other place. I would like to post my comments in response to some negative remarks that appeared on the site entered primarily by the individuals who has purchased the discounted deals offered by the Groupon. I have been a client of Clarity Medispa for 8 years, practically since the time they opened their doors. I have used many of their services and still go there to get my facial treatments. The results are always great, never had any complications or infections after. I took a complete laser hair removal treatment there and it was always done on a high professional level and with absolute safety precautions. For the last several years I do not require this treatment any longer, which confirms the quality of the treatment provided. As far as Customer service I have never had to wait for 2 months for appointment, as it was mentioned in couple of reviews. When I called I could always get a receptionist on the phone. She was always able to schedule me at a convenient for me time slot. If I got a voice mail and left message, I always received a call back. Even at the doctors' offices they use voice mail nowadays for convenience, so that should not be a surprise to anybody and certainly not a reason for a negative comment. The place is clean, friendly and very professional. I personally would recommend it. read more

I purchased a Groupon for laser hair removal for a large area at Clarity Medispa. At my first appointment, the technician told me that a "Brazilian" was not covered by the "Extended Bikini" area and that I would have to pay an additional $75 if that is what I wanted. I checked the Deal Q&A afterward and there was a question that specifically addressed this issue and it was stated that Brazilian WAS the same as the Extended Bikini and did not mention anything about an extra charge. I can only imagine that most customers that bought this Groupon for that area have been coerced into paying an additional fee for something that should have been covered. Attempting to schedule an appointment has been another hassle. When calling to make an appointment, I have never had the call directly answered - it is always sent to voicemail - and I only receive calls back 50% of the time. When you finally get to talk to a person, they claim to only be able to fit you in several months later (I called in mid-December and couldn't get an appointment until February 6th). Despite being unsure whether or not I'd be able to make the February 6th appointment (I travel a lot for work), I booked it anyway. When a work trip came up that was going to prevent me from making the appointment, I called several weeks in advance to try to reschedule. I left two messages - again, never having my calls answered by a person - and never got a call back. To add insult to injury, even though I could not get my previous calls returned, I did get a message attempting to confirm the very appointment that I had been trying to reschedule for two weeks. I am very unhappy with this particular experience. The spa is unprofessional and dishonest in their dealings with customers - save your money and go elsewhere. read more

Completely do not understand previous reviews. Had my laser hair removal there- all six treatments and did not have any problems at all. Results were great and customer service was nice and friendly(well i never try to be rude to anybody either). The technician was very professional and straight forward- they also recomended some other treatments for me that I never considered and now I see great difference in my appearance. Never saw the place to be dirty(it's not the Red Door Spa- but the price is much more reasonable). Entrance is kind of hidden, but the only "shady" part about it is the trees nearby. I never heard that you have to open a business in a middle of a meadow or some huge plaza with a sign that you can see from a highway like McDonald's. I was 100% satisfied and always recomend it to my friends. UPDATE 8/2018: time flies- did Botox and filler - Thank God to Julia's great taste (important when you get an advice on what parts of your face to inject and how much to change it) and to Julia's gentle hands (important when you want an unpleasant per se procedure to be done properly, in a minimal amount of time and with a minimal amount of pain). Went here for Mink lash extensions from a groupon and the experience was wonderful. I was going out of town and Inna was booked but came in at 8 am on Sat to ensure I got the lashes before my trip. It took her about 45 min for the full set and they looked exactly like the picture I asked for. I needed a refill in one week, only because I was in the salt water ocean, the pool, and the heat all weekend. Even with that, the lashes stayed on through the whole vacation and only fell out after I messed with them. I have had strips before that made me blink constantly, I can't even feel these lashes and they don't bother me when sleep. I love them! read more

I got the Living Social deal for eyelash extensions and I had a great experience! Inna is really great at applying each lash with care! If you make an appointment they will give you the living social price without having to buy the voucher - $65 for a full set, and $35 fill-ins every 3 weeks or so. Inna did my & my mom's lashes for my wedding and they looked really natural but amazing! I get compliments on them all the time and I have had 3 fill-ins- I'm a customer for life! read more

I had lash extensions done here after my mom gifted me a groupon. The location was out of the way for me and hard to find, but I was happy with the lash extensions. It was my first time getting lash extensions and they were very natural. I wish they were a little fuller but that's just a personal preference. I don't know what to expect (due to the location) but I was happy with the outcome. I just wish the location was more convenient. read more

DON'T go there! I bought a Groupon, decided to make an appointment. The never picked up a phone or returned my calls. So, I drove down there. The place looked dark and dirty, but I made an appointment anyway. BTW, when I walked in, the receptionist did not even greet me. She asked me: "do you have an appointment?" she looked very surprised to see a client. I said I am here to make one since you don't pick up the phone. She told me that she didn't hear anyone calling... She was super rude. Making an appointment was a real problem. She scheduled me to come back in two months. So, two days prior to the appointment I got a call saying that technician is not available. And, of course, any other day that was good for me was not good for the receptionist. I cancelled my Groupon. I will be using this experience as a great example of how to sink business fast. This dirty, rude and disorganized place should just close their doors. read more

I had the lash extensions done here by Inna. I was a little skeptical at first because the price seemed amazing in comparison to other places. I was even more skeptical when I arrived. Yes, this place is on the backside of the Chartley Shopping center. It does seem a bit dated. It's not some fancy spa, so if that is what you are expecting, forget it. However, I was very impressed with Inna. She was very nice and made sure to explain each step of the process to me and made sure I understand how to care for the lashes. She did an excellent job and they turned out amazing. Like I said, it's definitely not a fancy spot, but they do great work. Perhaps that is why they can keep their prices reasonable; they aren't spending a ton on decorations and a bunch of stuff that makes you feel warm and fuzzy. They get the job done and they do it well, that's all that really matters in the end. read more

Very UNPROFESSIONAL!!! Imma, the front desk girl is very rude! The staff are very unprofessional and terrible. The machine they use for laser hair removal is antiquated and old and doesn't even work. You wait for hours. Their machine keeps breaking down and they don't call you to tell you. So often times I would drive there only to find out that their machine wasn't working. I will never go back to Clarity Medispa. I purchased a living social deal for mink individual lash extension. 4 days after the application of the lashes ( which only took about 30 mins to apply) most of the lashes on my left eye fell off. I went back & they replaced the lashes. A few days later the same lashes came off. I went to another establishment to get the lashes replaced only to find out that I was given cluster lashes instead. The lashes that did not fall off was glued onto my skin. Clarity refused to refund my $$ & so did living social. This is a absolute fraud. read more

Went here for a "mink" eyelash extension living social deal. The place was difficult to find- as others have said, it was in the basement hidden on the side of a beauty school at a strip mall. It certainly didn't look like a legit establishment. I should have bowed out when I got there, but I had already paid for the living social deal so I figured I'd give it a try. I saw another woman leaving as I got there and she had just had her lashes done and it looked pretty bad- the technician explained this was because the older woman's lashes were sparse and not naturally black. The lashes were synthetic- I saw the box on my way out- and much bigger than natural or mink lashes. While the technician explained that individual extensions would be applied to individual lashes, the end result was a gloppy mess on my eyelids. I looked like a tranny, and because the fake lashes were glued to several lashes, they were pulling at my actual eyelashes. I was too scared to get them removed there so I went elsewhere- Happy Feet Reflexology in Rockville was wonderful for getting them removed, and they fit me into their schedule almost immediately! If you're looking for quality lash extensions, do not go here. After reading great reviews, I bought a Living Social deal on lash extensions, and now that I have them I will never buy another Living Social deal again, and definitely won't be going back to Medispa... First of all.. you walk in to this weird loud music.. with no one at the reception desk.. and very very dated decor. I almost walked out the door that second. Before I could walk out, a lady came from the back and showed me to a room. I had done some research on lash extensions, and learned that they can take 2 to 3 hours to apply (if done correctly). With that in mind, I blocked off 3 hours of my day for this...... but it was done in 25 minutes. She showed me the lashes in the mirror and I was thrilled with the results, and surprised at how quickly she had done them compared to what I had read online. Well... there's a reason for that. About 6 of the lashes on one of my eyelids fell off when I put my sunglasses on 3 hours later. Then, I woke up the next morning to find about 18 more lashes on my pillow (I slept on my back so not sure how that happened). Now I have one eyelid full of lashes and the other one has about 3 extensions left - I'm getting married in Florida in 6 days and am now googling how to take all of them off so I don't look weird and lopsided. As I said again.. don't go here if you're looking for long-lasting high quality extensions. Spend the extra money to make sure that they actually do last for the 2-3 weeks that they should. read more

I had a groupon offer for three laser hair treatments, which is the only reason I returned twice more to this place after my first visit. First of all making an appointment is nearly impossible. The receptionist is rude and is easily frustrated when particular times do not work in your schedule (While in the waiting room before my appointment I once saw her talking to a client on the phone...she was rolling her eyes and banging on the desk because she was so frustrated with them and their schedule). She is indeed difficult to understand and after hanging up you are left feeling as though you maybe just made an appointment to have your hair ripped out by an angry woman in a dark basement (oh wait...you did). If you manage to get past hurdle number one, congratulations! Sort of. The next step is finding the place. If you're like me, you'll drive up and down the strip mall a couple times before realizing that good old Clarity Medispa is nowhere to be seen. So what now? Call the lovely receptionist. Ask where on earth the door is. Affirm your sentiment about the whole "angry lady in a dark basement" thing because guess what? Clarity Medispa is underneath the shopping center, is that door with the shades drawn and down some stairs on the side of building. Alright, not a big deal. Maybe the location is just a little subpar, right? You walk in, you see the desk, which is vacant. You sit down, look around at the little signs haphazardly printed on regular old printer paper asking for tips and you wait...and wait...and wait and when someone FINALLY emerges, your presence literally scares her. She asks if you have an appointment. She tells you it'll be a few more minutes (by this, she means at least 15 more). Seriously, each time I visit the place, I sit in the waiting room for upwards of 30 minutes. And it's not like there's any other patient there! They meander around for a while and ignore you (all the while your urge to get the heck out of there is getting harder to repress) until you're finally taken back. This post is getting lengthy, so let me skim over what happens next. Once you reach the room, you first spot a hole in the wall so anyone in the hallway can SEE INTO YOUR ROOM. That disposable paper on the chair you sit on was clearly used by someone else first. There are more printer paper signs asking for tips and listing other treatments they offer. The walls are dirty, the floors are dirty. This is not an environment in which I want anything happening to my body, thanks very much. The laser tech is nice enough, and the only reason this did not receive one star instead of two is that the actual treatment was fast. However, I'm not convinced it really works, since as soon as I was done they suggested I come in for more treatments, which only increase in price. I will not be returning to Clarity Medispa and I seriously suggest you reconsider spending your money here and trusting these people with your body. read more
