She also told me I didn't have an appointment at 5 PM which by the screenshot I received a confirmation just that and she tried to tell me my appointment was at 4:45 PM. I sat there until 5:05 PM. Today, I checked in for my appointment and I was about 10-15 early so was prepared to wait. I asked the girl at the front desk- later found out her name is Brittney and she is the manager if Tyneisha was running late. Her response: Tyneisha is always late. Very unprofessional and unnecessary to say. So my response was "she's never late with me" European Wax Center please train your managers to be professional. I booked a 9:15 appointment with Cierra this morning. I arrived about 5 minutes late within the grace period. She was behind schedule with her last appointment when I walked in and didn't finish until 9:25am. She wanted to rush my appointment and then said we needed to cancel because it's pushing time into her next appointment and that I was well beyond the grace period. If I were late and she wasn't behind schedule I could understand her reasoning but she was behind schedule cutting into my appointment time even after I arrived. So I don't expect to be rushed and at fault if you are behind schedule. Asked to speak with a manager but the receptionist said they were the only ones on duty at the moment. read more

From the encounter from the agent at the desk to the phone call she placed to manager who also was very dismissive. I have been making regular appointments and was not notified that the person who was providing my very intimate service was no longer an employee. No one notified me I was just assigned to another employee with no regard for my personal preference. I'm sure I will not be compensated for being unhappy with the way my services were handled so after I am done with this package I will NEVER patronize with a place who does not appreciate their customers. In business receiving excellent customer service always keeps customers returning to never being able to speak to a live person on the phone to being disregarded is definitely not viewed in my book as excellent customer service Sometimes these places forget that it's the customers that keep business profitable. I was a first timer, getting a bikini wax. When I booked the service it stated the time of the service which was 15 minutes so I knew it was going to be quick. I arrived and checked in with no problem and waited only 3 or 4 minutes. As she was walking me to Rm 2 she saids brace yourself it's going to be cold, it had to be about 10°. It was ridiculously uncomfortable. She asked me to disrobe and I asked if she had a blanket or anything she said no but if you continue to come here that's something you may want to bring so that you can be comfortable. She jumped right in and I said please hold on I'm new to this can you walk me through everything and she said oh yeah I forgot. She then proceeded to tell me what was happening at each step. I did feel rushed because. It became evident that they are timed and they had to stay within those time constraints. Once I got home and examined her work it was clear that she could've spent a little bit more time doing the cleanup portion. Will I go back? Yes, because there are other practitioners there so I don't want to discount the entire business based on the service provided by one person. I will not give her name but I know her name and I will make it point to pick someone different next time to see what my experience is like. Came here on the suggestion of my daughter. The parking lot of the shopping center where it us located was a nightmare. There are numerous stores that are popular and that made for a hard time locating a parking space. I made my appointment online (although they take walk ins). The front end staff were pleasant and checked me in as I waited on my technician. After a few minutes, I was escorted back for my service. There were numerous individual private rooms and the one I received my service in was clean. The technician, Calia, was a true professional and explained my wax procedure before beginning and during, which is nice for those who are first-timers. They also offer makeup services as well. As I paid, they encouraged me to make a follow up appointment and purchase a pre-paid package of services, which I declined. Also, this was my first time here, so I got a great discount . My technician is precise and efficient no complaints I like that they call and remind me the day before or id never make an appointment. Today was my second visit at this location, much like the rest of the world seating has been removed from the front area and plexiglass placed in front of staff for protection. There is a sign on the front door that provides directions to check in via phone. As I was reading through the instructions I was waived in. Checkin was quick and after a quick bio break I was in the service area and ready for my wax. The waxer was pleasant but I felt like another number in the queue. It felt very routine, remove clothing, we're having a sale, you should consider XYZ, thanks for coming. Because I mentioned I previously purchased a large bottle of Smooth Me I think that was the trigger for don't show products after wax--which I can appreciate. Checkout felt rushed, there were about 3 others in the front area and I'm sure the employees wanted to move quickly to prevent unnecessary crowding and to keep appointments moving along. I was offered the membership, I declined, I was informed prices are going up soon and to expect a small increase the next time I visit. I'm offered the opportunity to setup my next appointment, I decline because I've found a place that really works for me (she was booked) so I know I will not return in the near future. I pay, I tip, I leave. I'm thankful I was able to be seen considering I booked this appointment online after business hours the night before. However, I can only recommend EWC if you are in a pinch. I like to feel a little more comfort with no sales involve with such a personal service. Not 10 mins after appointment I receive a text and email with a confirmation for my next appointment, odd since I specifically declined setting up a future appointment. Again, this is an example of cold-selling. Send them an appointment following every visit to force the opportunity to call, text, reach back out in 3-4 weeks. They greet you the minute you open the door, quickly check you in - they are so thorough with their explanations of the procedures, pricing, products and packages. They even greeted a few guests by name when they walked in - which really shows they care about their clients. They even let me add on a service because the technician had time and was willing to fit it in. Shakeva H. was amazing. She was so friendly and polite and kept a comfortable conversation going through the appointment, which if you're like me, helps distract. I got 3 services - 2 of which were "in depth" and I was in and out in less than an hour. She was precise and you could tell how knowledgable she was of her craft. They explain their 4 step process before getting started and then before you know it, it's done! I loved the experience so much, I bought a skin product and walked out with a wax package which I highly suggest if your a frequent waxer. This use to be my go to place in several different cities. Well this one was by far the worst one I had visited. To start the front desk lady was telling everyone's business to me..I am a customer....so that wasn't appropriate or necessary. Depending on who you are is how she treats you as well. The two waxers techs that I did wonderful jobs are now gone. Funny thing is as a customer the front desk lady told me the whole situation of why she was fired. Truly unprofessional. The only reason I continued to come back was due to the last lady that is now gone was there. She was so informative and extra proactive to make sure my visit was always exceptional! The front desk ladies never fully told me about the options I had as a continuing client or the options I have when referring people. The tech also informed me about the wax and the products they had to help with eye brows and ingrown hairs. She was a great asset to their company. She was so great at what she did!!! Kenya was great! I read reviews on her being the best and thorough which is so important. And I had an excellent experience with her. The only thing that bothered me is they had a tip price that was recommended based on services and they were at 30% tips. I usually tip based on mu experience, I have been to EWC all over the country and usually find myself tipping 20%. So I felt like I under tipped kenya. I have been to Miami, Arizona, and San Diego Locations and never had seen a recommended tip list that high. That left a bad taste with me read more

I received the Brazilian wax and I came expecting it to be extremely painful but it was a great experience. There was a little discomfort for me during the process, but Calia helped me through it. My initial thoughts were that she wasn't personable, comforting, and she was trying to get it over with since I was her last client of the day, but her intentions are good. She tries her best to get her clients not to overreact to waxing and I for one needed it, lol. She's well informed, walked me through the steps with up keeping, and answered all of my questions. Breanne gave me the worst lip and chin wax that I've ever received. I've been to this location on multiple occasions prior to today. I never thought to be picky about who was doing something as simple as a lip and chin wax, but now I know to stick to who I had before! Breanne waxed the same part of my lip THRICE. I have sensitive skin to begin with. She also aggressively used tweezers. I have my own tweezers at home! If I wanted to tweeze my face, I would've done that at home! She then told me that my double chin was actually a part of my neck! I have been getting my chin waxed for years and have NEVER EVER EVER had anyone not wax my entire chin. I even asked the young lady at the front desk about the neck/chin situation. I pointed to where Breanne refused to wax because she claimed it was my neck and the young lady confirmed INDEED it was my CHIN (well one of my chins but you get the point.) She also missed a part of my jaw. When I told her, she SPLASHED waxed on the side of my face to the point where I had soft wax on my hoop earring! So fair warning!!! I've been going here for a few years on and off, and the aestheticians are pretty good. They have a high turnover so I try not to get too comfortable with a specific person. I usually go to Danielle for my Brazilian who's good, but today I went to Bria and she was great! She waxes in large portions which was a little uncomfortable but overall it looks great. No bumps or redness and she was fast. The only complaint I do have is that I have tiny patch of hair left, but I didn't check before I left because I was in a rush. Everyone is super friendly and gives great advice about their aftercare products. I highly recommend purchasing the Body Polish. It keeps my skin smooth in between waxes and the scent is fabulous! You can purchase wax packages such as buy 6 in advance and get 1 free. If you are a regular customer, you should totally take advantage of this deal. Also, since European Wax Center has locations all over the states, if you move or are traveling and need a wax, those pre-purchased waxes transfer to the other locations. So, baby went for her first Brazilian! WHEW! I will be detailed because as a first timer, I struggled to find reviews that could help me manage my expectations. Booking: You can book online or via telephone. I'm old school and find security in having a voice on the other end of the phone, so that's how I made my appointment. The woman I spoke with was so friendly and helpful...especially when I asked about the do's and don'ts of preparing for my wax. D-Day: I arrived for my appointment with Andrea. The waiting room is modern and comfy...magazines...the usual. Andrea took me back and when I told her I was a first timer, she took care to explain the wax procedure and how it works in full details. They use a reeeeallly thick dark purple wax. No cloth strips to remove it...they let the wax sit for a while, then use some kind of powder to create a surface for them to pull, and RIP!! Before pulling each strip of wax, Andrea told me to breathe, which helped a lot! She also had light conversation and made jokes with me throughout my appointment. I mean, you're having hair ripped from your "area" so yes...it hurts, but ANY distraction helps! Everything took maybe 10-15 minutes. None of that froo froo day spa stuff where the appointment drags on for forever. When she finished, she applied the ingrown hair prevention/treatment serum. I'm writing this 3 weeks after my wax and I must say that the serum works. Get it! PAIN: I read so much online about taking over the counter pain killers in advance. However, they weren't necessary for me. The pain only occurred right when the strips were pulled....no lasting pain or discomfort to report. Salesy stuff: They offer packages where you can save money in the long run. I chose to opt out since this was my first time. Figured I'd wait to see how the serum worked and how the hair grew back before I committed myself to them. (commitment phobe-much? lol) Downside: I noticed that there were some areas missed...hence 4 instead of 5 stars.
